Strength:

Rugged appearance helps jazz up an otherwise bland truck. Great performance so far, and their strong reputation re-assures me. Everyone seems to love 'em.

Weakness:

Ordinarily would not want to spend $95 each for tires, along with extras like warranty and lifetime balance costs. But I guess you get what you pay for.

These are a 235/70/15 size. I was impressed that my stock Nissan 4x2 was able to accomodate this large size! The store and I had our doubts, but I can crank my steering wheel all the way with no rubbing. This is my first day of driving with 'em, so an endorsement might seem premature, but I think these are going to turn out great. I have taken some tight turns at highway speed, and they seem to grip alot better than the Road Huggers. I was surprised, because the Road Huggers had a linear tread pattern that looked more appropriate for the street. The ride is smooth, but my wimpy truck feels more like a manly truck. I have a plain silver Nissan that I bought to save money while in law school, and the tires make it look much better. BTW, watch out for those Road Huggers- I had a BAD blowout at 70 mph, and the tires only had 10k miles! I had the lifetime warranty, so I was able to trade them back in and pay the difference. I did NOT want to buy another cheap store brand, and insisted on the high-quality Goodrich. The salesguy somehow tried to get $240 out of me, but the actual price difference was only about $37 per tire. I told him no way, and negotiated my total down to $150. Oh, and as a final note- BF Goodrich sold their tire business way back in 1986! They were bought out by Michelin, who still markets some tires under the Goodrich brand name.

Strength:

Great performance for my off-road driving, and my 4Runner looks good wearing them!

Weakness:

If you plan on driving mostly on civilized pavement, then don't buy these tires. There are better tires for pavement!

If you plan on doing any serious off-road adventuring, and still plan on taking your vehicle on road trips or to work everyday, then these are the tires for you. They have great hill climbing ability, they have added a slightly agressive look to my 4Runner without making it look red-neck, and they aren't very loud on pavement giving their off-road ability.

Strength:

Great aggressive look, wonderful in the snow, good in the rain, great off road in mud/dirt/stones, wear great as long as they are rotated often, my first set had 42,000 miles on them before I replaced them with the new KO model. The 3-ply sidewall makes the tire very stiff and strong and the truck steers so great with these tires! They are very quiet on the highway even though they have an aggressive tread pattern.

Weakness:

The first pair really held the stones in the treads but the new KO model seems to be a bit better. Believe me this is a minor issue!

If you need a strong tire that can get you through the mud and snow and yet you need a quiet tire for the highway - this is the tire. They are worth the money. Keep the air pressure up, I have always run between 35 and 40psi and they wear great!

Strength:

These are my second set of BFG All-Terrains on my '81 Toyota 4X4 shortbed. The first set went 80,000 miles and approx. 8 years. Got to the point where the store I bought them from refused to rotate them, stating I was past the tire's 40,000-mile rating.

Weakness:

A little noisy, a little heavy. So what, it's a four-wheel drive rig? I'm of the opinion that transportation should be a "moving" experience and on a 4X4, that's actually used the way it's meant to be, comfort takes a back seat to stone-cold reliability.

I would recommend BFG A/Ts, especially the KOs. I take the truck up every deer season to the Sierra Nevadas, where dirt trails can climb past 8,000 feet and higher. They are a bit noisy and I'm sure they don't really help gas mileage, but they track over granite, claw up steep dirt slopes, do a good job in the muck, plow through snow, and look great when I wash them and the truck's parked in the driveway.

I've had 4 sets of tires in the 20 years I've owned this hunting rig: the small original Dunlops (40,000 miles), 31" Bridgestone Desert Duelers (80,000 miles), 31" BFG A/Ts (80,000 miles), and my new 32" BFG KOs (less than 5,000 miles). Keep in mind that tall tires have thrown off my speed/odometers, so these mileage figures are conservative. I estimate I probably have close to 250,000 miles on the truck. To be honest, I like the looks of the KOs the best--especially the sidewall siping. Also, at 32" the tires really fill up the Toyota's large wheel wells (2" shackle lifts).

these tires are so awsome. I have always been 4x4ing the minute i bought my bronco, and i would spin my tires on the soft dirt alot, which would just bury my wheels, not go forward. I bought these tires and the same day went off roading....What a diffrence! They ripped through the same soft dirt and I had constant traction at all times

Weakness:

none!....just all the pricy crap that the dealers try and stick to you to install them.......

These tires look so awsome. they ride really nice on and off pavement. Im a kid (18), and love hearing my tires whine when i go down the road. All my friends hear my tires before they see my car. If you want an aggressive appeal to your truck/suv, definatly go for these babies!

Strength:

Handles and feels (ride) MUCH better than the stock '93 Ford Ranger, '95 Ford Explorer, and '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee tires I previously replaced. This is true on city roads, highways, and gravel roads (Canadian dry, wet, snow, slush, and ice) when newer. They also made the trucks look agressive.

Weakness:

Noisy on pavement. I would like to see a comparison of fuel efficiency between tires. I could not say because there are so many different variables that come into play, such as driving habits day to day, warm up time, trip distances, stops, traffic, etc.

I have just ordered, and am patiently awaiting two new sets of 4 BFG A/T's for my RAVs. Kal Tire is giving me a fair trade-in for the near new stock Dunlop tires, which I can see are a fine tire, but won't be great for this winter up and down from Silver Star Ski Hill. Please note that I don't have a quality tire reference to compare with these BFGs yet. I have been completely satisfied with the other 3 BFG sets, therefore don't want to risk trying others at this point. I think that the stock Toyota Dunlop tires are decent, so I will have a better contrast and comparison in a month from now.

Stock Ford and Jeep tires. BFG A/T are superior. Better handling on all surfaces, better ride feel, and better wear. Safer.

AWESOME tire! Great wear, ride, handling! Excellent grip off-road, on-road, so-so in rain (just be careful) Nice design, ie; sidewalls, tread pattern, RWL, ect!

Weakness:

N/A great tire for the price!

NEVER, NEVER have I gotten stuck with these! I've driven through snow up to and above the fender! Slid off-road in slush to a large plowed pile of snow, compleatly buried the pass side up to the window! Put it in low range and geared out! I would put these on any truck! C load rate is great! good air down handling. seem to like abuse! I love BF Goodrich Tires even though Michelin makes them!

Nice look. Good traction on muddy launch ramps.

Weakness:

A litte bit noisy.

The BFGs are one size larger 285/75R16 than the stock 265's. They fit fine and don't rub at all, however between the larger diameter and more aggressive tread pattern, my mileage has gone down ~10%. Great buy if you are looking for an aggressive look with decent highway manners.
