Strength:

Great balance between on and off road ability

Weakness:

Make sure you have good quality mud flaps fitted (standard on Patrol) - these tyres pick up stones and fling them out at speed ! (Take note all you Jeep / Cherokee drivers).

Replaced original fit Bridgestone Dueller H/T 689''s on Nissan Patrol 2.8 GR 1999 at 40,000 miles. Looking for more grip off road but without compromising road noise. These tyres are superb ! recommended to anyone with Patrol... Hardly any road noise. Loads of grip. They also don''t "thump" into pot holes as fiercely as the Duellers used to..

As far as I am concerned, these are the best A/T tires on the market. I have always used them on my trucks. They wear well. I have never had a flat. I have never gotten stuck and I have done extensive off roading. They perform equally well on rocks, mud, sand and highway. As a matter of fact, they have an excellent highway ride with minimal noise. They look great also! I recently traded in my 1988 Bronco w/120,000 mi and I had just installed the third set of BFG A/T''s on it. I can''t wait for the tires on my new 2001 F-150 Screw to wear so I can put on BFG A/T’s! Excellent product!

Strength:

Look great, long tread life.

Weakness:

Real noisy, and real hard riding.

noisy, noisy, noisy! On my Ford Explorer, they sound like pure off-road tires. In fact, I took the Explorer to a repair shop and had them inspect all of the U-joints it made so much noise. Shop owner had them on his Ford F-150, and said you have to rotate these tires about every 3 months to keep them from cupping and making noise. Another thing, they made the ride a lot harder - something you don't want with a vehicle that rides hard to start with. I definitely would not buy these tires again.

Strength:

Just purchased these 31x10.5/15 tires...not cheap at $113 each, but already am happier than with my old tires. Cornering is great. Traction is better. And not very loud on the highway (in fact, quieter than old tires were).

Weakness:

Price...not a "bargain" tire, but hopefully, they will make up for this in performance.

So far, I love the BF Goodrich All-terrain T/A's. They feel great, look great, and sound great (low noise) on my truck. I'm hoping they wear better than my previous tires and have more puncture resistance. Stay tuned.

Firestone Wilderness A/T (P265 75R15) and Summit Trail Climber (31x10.5/15). Both of those were less than spectacular performers - didn't last past 30,000 miles and punctured easily. Fingers are crossed on the new BFG's.

Good in mud, snow, and rain. These tires are pritty quit and smooth for an all-terrain tire. Good wear.

I have never been stuck. I have set and spun rooster tails 50 feet in the air in mud holes that wasn't far from the bottom of my truck, and then pulled out with no problem. My buddie had 33s on his truck and he wouldnt ever try to go through it. In snow I had no problem, I have locked it in 4 wheel drive and never spun a tire. These tires work good in ever case. If you want a good tire and go 4-wheeling occassionly, this would be a good tire to get. These tires have even helped me to pull out a bronco with no problem.

can't be beat, best for the money/performance. air conditioner louder on highway than tires are, only reason for loud tires is complaints from those who dont rotate them. not only do use there tires i also happen to sell them for a living, best all around tire on the market, takes me to work/school,deer lease, fishing, and just plain out to get the truck durty. not the only owner of these tires amoung friends and family.

Model Reviewed: LT235/75R15 All Terrain KO's on '92 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4

Strength:

good off road traction (sand, dirt, gravel)
smooth ride
look good
on road traction is OK

Weakness:

somewhat noisy
unresposive (very slow turn in)
on-road traction is just OK

These tires are an excellent compromise for a vehicle that is used both on & off road, which is probably why they are so popular. If you do very little off-roading, I would avoid them, as there are better tires for this type of use (i.e., the Bridgestone Dueler APTs are excellent on paved roads & have decent off-road traction). The BFG ATs are ponderous and unresposive on the road... you have to drive carefully as they tires are very slow to respond. Traction is decent, but they can be broken loose without too much trouble. Also, road noise is not terrible, but it is definately noticable. However, that should be expected with any tire in the 'All Terrain' class.

These tires were bought for my mother's Blazer, and I think it would have been better to get another set of the Bridgestones she had before. Though they wore out kind of quickly, they were very stable & had good on-road traction. They were much more quiet, but they rode a little stiffer than the BFGs do.

Having said that, I would definately buy these tires for my own truck, unless I bought something even more agressive. They're great as long as you do realize that you're giving up some paved-road performance. Though the Bridestones had surprisingly good traction for their mild tread design, the BFG ATs are even better. All of my off-road experience with these tires as of yet has been in sand, much of it very loose & quite deep. The truck will now go a few places in 2WD where 4-HI was required before, and a few places in 4-HI where 4-LO was needed before.

In summary, the BFG ATs are an excellent tire for a vehicle that gets both frequent use both off and on paved roads. There are better choices for trucks that rarely see dirt, but the BFGs are an excellent tire for those that do.

Strength:

I have a set of 31x10.50x15 BFG KOs, the 3-ply sidewalls are nice, they work good in mud, and great in snow. I have 16,000 miles on mine and they don't appear to have worn much.

Weakness:

They don't release sticky clay very well.

These are some durable tires; I recently accidently ran over a steel ladder that was sitting in the middle of the freeway. I ran it over going about 65mph; there wasn't a scratch left in them. I also use them on some trails in the cascade's. They handled good on the rock and mud, but I really noticed how good they work in snow, I've taken them on some trails with 2 or more feet of snow and they did great. If you have daily driver that needs to preform offroad only every once and a while I would highly recomend them.
