Ive Had USAA since I was 15 years old. I have them fore banking and car insurance. There customer service is amazing as well as handing my claims etc. AMAZING! |

military only I have been with usa for 5 years. I have files several claims under both my auto and renters policies. I have gotten my check deposited directly into my bank account within 2 days of filing the claim and giving them the appropriate information.

Used to be customer friendly, not sure any more
Weakness:
Growth is lowering their customer service quality - noticeably in decline USAA service is definitely in decline. They have recently gone after junior enlisted soldiers for policy coverage and apparently have not increased their customer service staff. Also, they installed a telephone call tree that usually leaves you a voice mail box. You may or may not get an answer. After being with them 30 years I am seriously considering switching - if the customer service is bad, it doesn't matter how good the premium is. |

I've been a USAA member since 1991. They have extremely loyal customers; until two weeks ago I was one of them. I had been with them since college and they were the only insurance company I would think of using. I had two claims back in the 90's and received excellent service. I would not have dreamed of switching companies, despite my wife's best efforts to obtain better rates.

Weakness:
Lack of responsibility I was rear-ended by a policy holder of this company, and upon trying to file a claim, was told just to have my insurance handle it as they were not going to stand by their client of 11 years. The adjuster who was assigned to my claim left me a number to call, then basically disappeared. After six unreturned calls, I started over, and was told by the next agent that I was out of luck and should just use my own insurance to fix my car as they would not own up to their claim.

I have been a good insured driver with USAA for many years who was hit by an "at fault" USAA driver, all I can say for now is...get a lawyer, get a lawyer, get a lawyer. When I'm allowed to say more, believe me I will. |

I am the party with the claim. Their insured had an accident with my daughter in the car and this was in September. It is now the middle of January and no one will return calls or make contact. Terrible Customer service. |

POOR customer service, failure to follow up/return calls Speaking as someone filing a claim against a USAA insured driver, their service is TERRIBLE. My wife was struck from the rear while sitting at a traffic signal. She was not charged, the accident report indicates that the fault is the USAA insured driver. The accident happened over 6 weeks ago, and we have NEVER been contacted by USAA after filing the claim. When the claim was filed the agent indicated that they needed to speak with their driver before proceeding. We contacted USAA twice and left several voice mail messages-they have NEVER called us or returned a call. A month after the accident they stated that they were unable to contact their insured party, and thus were unable to process the claim. Accrding to them they had not requested a copy of the police report, although they were given the report number when the claim was filed. I called again this morning, got voice mail and have not yet received a return call. As a LTC in the USAR, I receive numerous contacts from USAA offering quotes and asking me to consider their service. I have considered using them and actually got a quote, but they were unable to match my current insurance coverage/rates. I had considered contacting them for quotes on my multiple motorcycles. However, if this is indicative of their business practices and customer service, I will stay as far away from them as possible. |

Price, customer service, efficancy, and quality.
Weakness:
none so far I have had USAA for 7 years now and LOVE it. Everyone in the family has it and has had nothing but great experiances. We were in an accident for the first time ever and they were a great help. We were aloud to go to any repair shop we wanted to without getting a quote regardless of their costs and when we had problems with the repair shop they, USAA, helped us deal with them and get things done in a timely manner. Our rates decrease just about every 6 months and after the accident that was a no fault accident but we were put down as at fault withthe insurance companies as has to be done our rates have not increased! Similar Products Used: state farm bad experiance, wont give you your money. |
