I am a naval officer and many of my friends are also and have USAA. The recent hurricane showed USAA's true colors. I was thinking of switching to them but now I know definitely that I won't after hearing all the horror stories from my hurricane victim friends. Go somewhere else for house insurance. USAA Sucks!

I love USAA. I have never been let down by them. I have read the claims that usaa sucks. Every claim I have made has been pocessed and a chack sent with in days. I think that many people with that they too were insured with USAA. I have auto, renters insurance, banking, c/c, etc. all with on company. God forbid thay ever go under. The key is that you have to be some how affiliated with military, or that was how it use to be. The rates are really cheap and the coverege in 2nd to none. Try to get with them , you will not be disappointed.

If you have USAA. DON'T EVER LEAVE THEM! They are hands down the greatest company I have ever had to deal with. People always answer the phone and know what they are talking about. If not, they will personally transfer you and make sure you get connected. I have had multiple problems with theft and accidents, and USAA has been more responsive then any other company I have worked with.

My husband and I have been with USAA for over 3 years.The past year and a half I've been rear ended by a uninsured drver,my husband in a motorcyle accident and ejected from his vehicle by a drunk driver(his motorcycle strapped to the bed of the truck)and last but not least my rims and tires stolen.USAA has been wonderful.We were up for renewal and rates went down!.Get back to me in 6 months.I might be without.

Rates Responsiveness

I had been with USAA for over 25 years. The last two have been hell....this is a company that has gone down hill, and beyond.... Homeowners rates doubled without communication....a valid auto claim with no policy service. Find another, any other, choice.

my car was backed into while legally parked and un-occupied. i have been fighting with USAA now for over 2 months on this. of course they declared my car a total loss and what they are offering me wont even cover the repair or replacement. they have been completely rude everytime i managed to contact anyone at their office but now they say.. im the rude one. they were even rude to the person who backed into me... and she is paying them!!! get insured somewhere else.... USAA SUCKS

My daughter was in a serious auto accident recently and her car was declared a total loss. Her mother and step father carried her insurance through USAA where a claim was filed. Their replacement figure is several thousand dollars below what we can purchase a like-auto for. We expressed our concern and provided ample documentation of a fair market value. They are responding by stonewalling and hassling. Talking with auto dealers and insurance agents I have learned that USAA is perceived as "bad news" by many in the know. At a difficut time it is very unfortunate to experience added stress from USAA. They have made me very appreciative of State Farm which carries my insurance.

no speedy phone call returns

I was in an auto accident( clearly not my fault) with a USAA client. I was told to drive around town missing work to find estimates on the car. My vehicle was still driveable, but parts were hanging off and even falling off at tis time. USAA would not issue me a rental car for me to get to and from work.( which is 3 hours away) I was told by a representitive that it would be at least 5 days to determine who was at fault, and could not provide me with transportation. I also had to pay for a police report, which stated I was not at fault, fax it to them before they could make the decision on who was at fault. It was the longest process, and O have been out a a safe, working vehicle for 4 days, and it will probably be twice that long before I can get a rental and mine fixed.

Have nothing but praise for USAA. Am in healthcare business and have dealt with MANY of the other auto insurers; none have been as cooperative to those injured in accidents as USAA. Am sure they are more cooperative if they are your own company as opposed to company of car who caused accident. Have USAA MedPay on own policy & when was hit by driver insured by another company, USAA allowed me a generous amount of healthcare before releasing me. Have been very pleased.

Can someone email me about the money back that USAA sends at the end of the year. Is it worth spending extra $300 per year for 2 cars with this insurance for this money back? I have been with Geico for 8 years and have nothing but great experiences - fast service, claims, always got my money, cheap rates... Thanks to those that email me.
