Travelers over charges for their auto insurance. Especially if you get into a minor accident. They raised my rates $900.00 more a year for aan accident that totalled less than $900.00 in damages. I changed my insurance to another well known company and got the same coverage for $600.00 less a year than Travelers was charging me. In my opinion Travelers is one of those companies that rip you off. Don't let them tell you because you got into a small accident your insurance went up $900.00 a year, go somewhere else and you will find it a lot cheaper.

Had a good student discount, but I took a semester off and they wouldn't accept my most recent transcript and took away my discount. This would have been fine if I was paying maybe $10 or $15 more but my montly rate shot up $77--out of my price range. And they absolutely required my parents' policy and drivers license numbers when I told them my parents are private people, never drive my car, and will not give them such information. I promptly switched insurance and just in time--they were planning to cancel my policy and didn't even tell me.

TERRIBLE customer service. I cancelled my insurance and they told me I would get a check in the mail for the prorated amoun left on my year. The check never came because the idiot never actually cancelled my insurance. I called back a couple of months later- because I didn't get the check and had to spend an hour on the phone getting them to cancel my insurance. The woman said I would get $127 back for the prorated amount from the first time I called. Instead they prorated it from the second time I called and only gave my $87 back. TERRIBLE.

Travelers Insurance has no strengths. It really sucks!!!

They did not pay for my rent a car even though policy included that. They also denied the diminished claim in 2009 for no reason even though my car was less than 2 years.

I spent several correspondence with this company with no response until I involved Texas Department of Insurance after which I got my car rental reimbursement. However, they still denied my diminshed claim. This company is the worst of all I have had experience with. I would suggest everyone to avoid dealing with them.

Just switched to Geico today. I bought a new car in March got my insurance bill in the mail hit the roof when I saw it was for $2700. Before that I was driving a 91 Corolla was paying $980 without collision. I wont even be paying that with Geico for the year and I have the full coverage. With the old car they raised me because apparently I had a credit that I wasnt supposed to have they took it away. I'll be saving $1800 a year. Will never go back to them again.

there is nothing is write what others have already written, i am amazed this company is allowed to even do business.horrible - crooks - avoid at all cost. they would not pay for anything, they wanted to pay me $25 for tow charges, which towing company charges $25, my bill was $350 and they would not pay more than $25. will i wil be filing a complaint with BBB and attorney general of NJ. when enough complaint are filed, may be this company will be shutdown.they entire business is "DONT PAY ANYTHING"

There are no strenghts about this company. if you never have to deal with them, that is a strength!!

Everything is weak! Do not call you on time, get information lost or mixed up, and they can't handle their own mistakes!

I will never use this Insurance company ever again! And I will keep my friends and family from using them as well. They didn't give me near the amount of money that my car was worth, nor did they even know how to take care of my claim!

Refused to pay for vandalism damage to my vehicle even though they acknowledged vandalism was a covered act under my comp policy and policy documents clearly state it is covered. No appeal process and they avoid communication - it took 4 months to get a decision, then they denied rental car charges also.

They do not investigate accidents. Just do it the easiest way possible and pay off the other driver. My husband was involved in an accident in a parking lot and was impacted while driving in the area of the parking spaces. They made impact at his rear wheel on the passenger's side with so much force it bent the wheel and broke both rear struts. The damage to the other driver's vehicle was at the driver's side headlight. Travelers came to the conclusion that the other driver had 'the right of way' and charged my husband 100% at fault. Another thing, the accident happened early on a Dec. morning yet my husband never saw any lights before or after the impact. Sounds to me like the other driver did not have his headlights on. They never asked for a drawing or diagram of how the accident happened. Did not ask for or send someone to take pictures of the parking lot. My husband was led to believe that it would be a 50/50 accident. I think they saw my husband has a CDL license and assumed that he had to be at fault and took the other driver's word without doing any investigating. A month before our insurance was to expire they informed us that our car insurance would not be renewed.

Travelers does not do their job and investigate accidents. They should be defending their clients not paying off the other party. I don't see how they came to the conclusion that the other driver had the right of way when they were both apparently driving in the area of the painted parking spaces,not in the "driving area" of the parking lot. Now my husband has this accident hanging over him for 3-6 years just because someone was too LAZY to do their JOB PROPERLY. Our agent stuck us with this SAD company after the one we were with no longer wrote policies in the states. I wish we had researched them and changed long ago. Pay a little more and go with a company who actually does their job and investigates any accident you might be involved in. It infuriates me that they are able to do this and nothing can be done to change their decision once it has been made. Of course they don't let you know what they intend to do until it is too late! Like after they decide not to renew you!
