I had Progressive Insurance, Liability with uninsured motorist. I was in a wreck where a motorcycle hit me at an estimated speed of over 85mph, the speed limit on this street was 35mph,i was doing 5mph turning into a station. the driver of the motorcycle had no valid drivers license, no motorcycle indorsement and no insurance.
The progressive rep called me at my work and told me i killed the other driver and i would not get my truck fixed. he stated he was giong to pay off the driver of the motorcycle so progressive would not be sued. How can someone have the right to call a persons work and tell them they killed a person without any investigation what soever. i have a signed statement from the officer on the scene stating it was unavoidable on my part and i recived no tickets for the accident but how does that resolve the mental stress and total anguish the progressive rep has thrust apon me. I will never be the same person i was before the rep called me (at my work)and accused me of murder !!! please dont buy progressive .

I was hit from behind by a driver with Progressive Insurance. Very minor damage to my car. I went to the Progressive Center in Kansas City, Kansas. They took possession of my car and said it would be three days. It has now been two weeks. They do not return calls. They get upset when you call to ask about the status of your car. They actually did just call and told me I would not get the car today as promised. It would now be sometime next week. Who takes three weeks to repair a fender? Never leave your car at a Progressive Service Center.

I been with progressive insurance company for over 3 years. I am using them for my business, note why the price is so high as i got $3 million coverage. I found that i get call back from adjuster usually with in 1 hour and sometimes with in 30 secods after i reported the accident. To me this is great customer service

So I used to be a progressive customer, until they got nasty with me. I had motorocycle insurance through them untill my car was hit by a progressive insured. They tried to short-change me every chance they got.

First off they asked me to go to a "Progressive Concierge Service" instead of a mechanic for an estimate, and they tried to get me to sign some paper allowing them to take possession of my car and do whatever repairs they feel are nescisary and of course release them of liability on whatever terms their mechanic felt were appropriate. Naturally I refused and told them I'd go ahead and fax them an estimate from a real mechanic. The next morning at 8am this lady who could barely speak english calls me up and starts yelling at me. She starts asking me all these questions about where I'm going to be in the next 24 hours, then has the audacity to dispatch one of thoose shady adjusters that drive around in thoose progressive vans to come to my work and perform an estimate without telling me. So their guy gets to my office and never calls my office or cell phone and left when he couldnt find my car. They actually tried to break into my car and perform and estimate without my knowledge or consent. I found this out when I called their customer care hotline and spoke to her boss about her negative attitude.

So then her boss appologizes and makes an appointment for me to meet their guy at my house. First thing he does when he gets there is to point at a dent the size of a golfball "oh that looks like vandalism". So after they yell at me and threaten to not pay this jerk comes to my house and in my own driveway acuses me of fraud when there's only $2000 in damage.

I am not going to describe a lot of details. I have read the long list of negative experiences on http://www.carreview.com/cat/automobiles/auto-insurance/progressive and can attest that are all very true.
They will lay
They will cheat
They will bully you such as pulling thge rental car while your vehiucle is at the shop.
They will not honor the estimate
They will not do what they agree to do on the phone such as sending a copy of the estimate.
They will be rude and abusive.

We switched to Progressive Ins. because it was so much cheaper than Grange Ins. They "offered" everything Grange had at such a cheaper rate. What they failed to tell us, they do not stand up to costumer service. When my husband was involved in an accident (not his fault) we did the leg work. Hollie was very incompetent. A repair job that was supposed to take 2 days, turned into 1 week. No loaner car, not a call back saying how did we do a messing up your life? Their service stinks BIG TIME! If you are shopping for insurance.... take my advice and keep on shopping. Don't get Progressive or you'll be sorry. ME? We're going back to the other insurance or shopping for new company. Tired of Progressive so soon!

Adjusters are overworked and brainwashed. Management is completely brianwashed and sometimes they don't even understand the repair process and the true value of a vehicle that has been totalled. The injury adjusters also use a computer program to value your injury claim, not common sense. All about gainshare not injured parties and vehicle repairs.

I used to work at pergessive as an adjuster for almost five years. If you have their insurance you are forced to use aftermarket or used parts on your car according to their "contract" with you(read the policy!). Only after these parts fail or have improper fitment can you change to the original factory parts your car came with. And it is still a struggle. If you don't have a contract with them you don't have to do that even though they try to force you to use the substandard parts. Don't let them look at your car, do not go to their shops if you don't have their insurance. Try to have your car fixed through your own company and have them subrogate(charge) pergessive when the repairs are completed. They will pay your company back and give you a rental car while your vehicle is repaired. They have to. If you have to have these creeps repair your car request factory standard parts. You have that right if you are not contractually obligated to them. If your car is totalled do your own market search to obtain a fair price for your vehicle or you will get hosed... Another thing is to never sign a medical authorization form no matter what they say. All the employees there get a "gain share" at the end of the year depending on how much money the comapny screwed you out of. They make big bucks off settling injury claims for less than they are worth and for low quality repairs using substandard parts. Try to have your company deal with your repairs and if you are injured seek the advice of an attorney because it is all about them, and not the "claimant" or person that was injred by a pergessive insured. The managers and employees there are brainwashed. And believe me they are not programmed to settle claims fairly. They are programmed to obtain maximum gainshare. Oh yeah almost forgot. They also give insurance to illegal aliens that can't speak english and don't have driver's licenses. I hope this helps anyone that want to buy pergessive insurnace. Don't, period.

This company treats the judicial system like the customer, and the customer like an asset.

A mistyped routing number due to a completely new policy to move from one state to another led to me driving without insurance for 3.5 weeks. They however had no problem letting the state requiring an SR-22 know before they notified me. Sat on the info for 2 weeks.
