I think overall Allstate is pretty good I have had a couple of accidents and they payed up right away. The only problem I have with them is I bought two used cars, a 2007 saab and a 2008 Ford Truck, I had a new Hummer before and a old 1989 truck, do you believe that now our insurance is way higher than before. On my Saab which was replaced by the Hummer the insurance is way higher then what I was paying for the Hummer which was new when I bought it. Why, I would think that since the Saab is worth half as much as the Hummer that the insurance would be a lot cheaper boy was I wrong it is costing me more. On the truck it is understandable it is now full coverage and will be costing more. I have called my agent and he said he would look into it but I really don't think he did. I am going to call him again because I still have not even gotten my insurance card it will be over a month now but I did get a bill already.

Crappy rates, crappy employees,just plain crappy

My husband and I have had Allstate for almost 3 years now and we thought it was great and had wonderful rates until you have an accident or had our home damaged. If you want that accident forgiveness bologna you have to pay about double what your insurance rate is, which we didn't know. The representatives are jerks as well.It drives me nuts thinking about the money waisted on insurance. The rich keep on getting richer! This company sucks!!!!!! I will be returning to Farm Bureau, at least they are friendly helpful people.

I have been with allstate car Insurance for ~5 years. I thought i was getting a good deal until I was in Raleigh, NC and was driving an old car. However, things went downhill real fast as soon as I bought a new car. My insurance went from $180 for 1 old car to ~$1500 for 2 cars (old + new). I thought things might improve after few months and I tried to call the local agent and never heard back, also did not responses to email inquiry - all i was asking for review of my account and rates. Meanwhile, there were extra charges being added to my bill from time to time. Again, there was no response to my calls about the additional charges. So, now i have decided to shop around and I have received a very reasonable rate. i've realised that i have been paying atleast 2-3 times more amount than I should be paying. I will make the change soon, however, I'd certainly like to know if there is any way to get reimbursed or compensated for the extra money i have lost to the suckers - Allstate?

Customer Service and timely attention to claims.

I hate to report that I have had to file a water loss claim on my lake property with AllState and recently I was involved in an auto accident that was NOT my fault. With that said, I must say that I have had many conversations with the AllState staff and customer reps. They are AWFUL to deal with, you have to put up a fight to get what you are owed. I had to ask for a different adjuster on my lake property and really spend many hours of my personal time fighting to get what I had ALREADY PAID FOR IN MY POLICY. In the end, the house was returned to its original state. I am still working on my auto accident and I have once again found TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. These people are very slow to act on your claim and NOT VERY NICE in the process. We have been waiting over 5 weeks just to receive the police report..... they tell me, "IT IS A PROCESS." I have been without my car for 5 weeks and I still have two more weeks of repairs. They are only paying for a portion of my rental!!! I wouldn't recommend ALLSTATE to ANYONE!!!

I was 18 when I was in the market for my own auto insurance. I was told by the dealer to try AllState and I recieved the best quote over five automotive insurance companies. That's even with there top gold package. After six months I recieved a nice decrease, than other six months past and I recieved yet another decrease, another six months past and I recently have recieved a the biggest discount! All I can say is things are looking up with AllState!

Horrible customer service! I recently switch to Allstate. Luckily, I found out what a huge mistake that was before the police even began. I’m still trying to get a refund and have been told that the cancel department doesn’t even take phone calls. I have to rely on one of the 800# service reps to send an email about my refund. I will never do business with Allstate again.

Be aware of states prices for insurance policies.

Had Allstate in mississippi,for 3yrs, moved to texas,did the right thing,looked for the nearest allstate agent to get my policy changed to the state. WOW!! in for a huge surprise. My policy changed allright.LOL...by 400 bucks more.All i got told was "your not going to like this answer either". What?. I lost my rewards. I had to start allover, like a new customer, even though i had allstate for years. I called customer care center and they wouldnt even help me. As if i was a nobody. I was owed a measly check and i lost that, but got a bill in the mail for 3.21 cents, LOL..as if im paying..Ive learned so much about my lovely Allstate company, that i used to bragg about. Im currently beating the pavement in search of another ins. co. to go with. 1,600 a year for one vehicle isnt going over well with me and my husband, and thats not including that we also have our renters with them also, so thats a combined policy,,Lol..wow, what a savings. We were hoodwinked. Just be careful out there. When you think a company is well known and has been around for awhile, yes they have been and that only means they are ole pros at taking your money and you not knowing your being taken, until you go home and look over your policy and say "hayyy,,wait a minute..lol.Just food for thought.

I had Allstate for a very long time. I had been with them since I got my first car when I was 18. Unfortunately, when I moved from Utah to Florida, the service went down, and the price went up...way up. We were insuring a crappy old saturn and my husbands accord. Neither of us had any accidents on our records, and yet our bill was about 160 a month. (About 40 dollars more than in Utah) I recently bought a new Honda Fit and they raised our monthly bill from 160 to 220 a month! I decided to shop around and found that Progressive was only 130 a month for a brand new car, my husband accord and the SAME EXACT COVERAGE! When we called to cancel Allstate, they gave us an extremely hard time.

Very worst to pay the money to fix the issue, or claim

I had all state auto insurance for more than 2 consecutive years. I paid around $650 per six months for the insurance.
When I bought a new 2008 Honda Accord, I have two issues and every time all state appraiser tried to cheat and give you less money for your fix.

For my latest experience from Austin, TX on this week. I had a vandalism in front of the Wal-Mart. I talked with All state to make an appointment for estimate. They wanted me to go their Sterling Auto Body. I took to them and they provided an estimate of around $800 + for fixing the issue. I planned to fix some where else. So, I called them and took to their appraiser. His name is Tuan Phan, an worst guy I have ever seen. His first question was - why you do not have a deductible? By the way, I have insurance $0 deductible for Comprehensive and $200 deductible for Collision. He did not like that as All state has to pay more.

He gave me an estimate of $325.39 and told me that's all. I talked with the Austin All state manager and he was saying the same story.

In my previous cases, I had same bad experience with All state.

Why does everyone complain about not getting paid by Allstate????? If you have insurance, you get paid through your own company...then your company goes to Allstate to get the money they are owed. YOU never have to deal with some other persons insurance company....only your own. Make the claim to YOUR company and quit bi*ching about it. Insurance companies are in the business to make money. They do that by trying to NOT pay out on claims to the full extent. EVERY company does this.
