Good loud powerful sound. Looks good too because i got the 90 degree cut steel tips.
Weakness:
A little too loud inside (at all times) but thats ok because you get use to it. So other than that its perfect! Big difference, i get better fuel economy, horsepower, and it sounds bad a**. And yeah my camaro is a little v6 and wont ever sound like a v8 but at least with the 40 series flowmasters it sounds like a bad a** v6. Similar Products Used: Stock |

Increase hp/mpg. Small for off road clearence. Great sound.
Weakness:
None! What a difference! I'm getting at least 15% more horsepower. My mpg has also improved. Pick up has also improved! I was skeptical about all the claims on flowmaster's,but no more!! I recommend flowmaster 40 (non delta which is what I have) series to all my fellow jeepsters out there with a budget. More passing power and torque! Similar Products Used: stock. |

Drove on a highway trip for 6 hours, I noticed a decrease in the amount of fuel burned, this muffler is great for fuel economy. The attention from the people outside is great. I also feel a slight improvement on the pickup when I gun it. Also, when I start up my engine, it sounds like a LION, so much better than b4. I love the look on peoples face when they hear me start my GT up, especially when I rev it afterwards!
Weakness:
The inside is 2 freakin loud!!! I get a headache whenever I take long trips, and if I already have a headache 2 begin with, after driving I am a wreck! I should have got the delta flows, but was afraid the outside sound would not have been loud enuff to turn the heads. I put the original 40 series Flowmasters on my GT(not delta flow), and these mufflers are loud as @*#@!!! I didn't think they would b so loud! Heads turn all the time, especially when I gun it! I love the attention. The sound on the inside is like 6 times as loud as b4. Now my car sounds like a real performance car. It is loudest between 1500-3000 RPMS. Great Strong Sound but refined and differant than the others. Very well made!
Weakness:
?? could swear I lost some low end torque. Thay say (no way!) Installed as replacement for factory units. Cut and welded in place w/tips. Perhaps Hi-flow cats will work better????? Got Spintech? Flowmaster, Move Over- A while back I had Twin Sport Series Spintechs installed. $15. each more than the Flowmasters but I wanted something differant on my mustang. Very deep and Strong Sound exp. at 60 to +90 in third gear on the freeway. I cant say they are better than flowmaster but of corse Spintech sais they are. At least they are differant. slight better than a stock muffler. It certainly will not outperforma straight through muffler. Sounds. not all that good. I just put on this 40 series delta flow master supposed to be as loud as the old 40 series but not as loud inisde. One word not. After putting it on i was very disappointed with the sound. It only sounds good at idle but when you rev it the tough sound goes away. I also felt a performance drop compared to the old straight through Borla. Man i''m very disappointed. |

nice solid piece of steel, the muffler it self. louder than a stock muffler, more exhaust flow. delivers an aggressive tone!

none. very pleased. thank you Flowmaster! again had to go with the Flows, just got and gave thumbs up all the time. tried Flows on my previous cars, 84 buick regal 5L and 89 GMC S15 with a 4.3, all good. go with the flows i say!!! ha! anyway installed a series 40 on my monte carlo with a baby 267ci, with cat and single exhaust, and she sounds pretty sweet! gives her the deep aggressive rumble tone. series 40 does the trick on any V8 especially with hedders duals, etc. V6 not sure, it sounded the same on my past 4.3L. Similar Products Used: Walker turbo mufflers. |

none I have a high performace 383 stroker with 11.5 to 1 compression headers and 2.5 inch exhausts into dual 40 series with no tail pipe it is very loud and very deep they will set off almost anyones car alarm at idle can be annoying while crusing to loud for me switching to 50 series great if you want it loud i had dual 2 inch pipes with glasspacks,lost a little low end torque but gained alot of mid and high end power with flowmasters was worth it Similar Products Used: stock, glasspacks neither compair to 40 series |

The sound. NOTHING sounds like a Flowmaster.
Weakness:
None This muffler is bad ass. My cousin has this on his 350 S10 and does this baby rumble. I thought that he didn''t have the exhaust hooked up yet...their that loud. I was totally blown away. At car shows, when he starts it up and comes back to idle (is truck is all-out race), people compliment on how sweet it sounds. It truly completes the truck. If you have a lopy idle, this muffler will surely complete your truck/car. Similar Products Used: Summit Turbo Mufflers. |
