Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler Mufflers

Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler Mufflers

DESCRIPTION

The most aggressive-sounding street and strip muffler in the Flowmaster product line. The 40 Series generates a powerful, aggressive sound outside the vehicle. If you are looking for the traditional Flowmaster sound, the 40 Series offers more of it than any other muffler. The 40 Series generates interior resonance within the vehicle as well, so if you want to really hear your exhaust system inside the vehicle as well as outside it, the 40 Series is for you.

Strength:

Gave my car a true sport sound, and improved my acceleration.

Weakness:

None. It could be a bit louder...but I believe it will get louder once it has time to break in.

Lets just say this. Flowmaster is the only muffler. Period. I put a Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flow on my '97 Lumina and it just rocks! It's not REALLY loud, but it's just enough. The Delta Flow system of the muffler cuts down the interior resonance, but believe me, there is still some there. Just enough to give my car a true sports car sound and feel. My acceleration has also improved, I noticed this the first day I got it! If you want your car to sound like a true sports car...regardless of the make and year...trust me...just go with the Flow! Just a brief note: My personal belief is that this muffler is best used on a car/truck with at least a V6 engine. Good luck everyone...there is no other sound like it!

Strength:

Construction, sound, did I mention mileage improvement. Also feel from the butt meter a little more hp too. Definitely turns heads too!

Weakness:

Yeah right....

I had Delta Flow 40's mounted with 3 1/2" rear exit slash tips. I now live to start this thing up in the morning, deep deep bass rumble that smooths out to a great sound. Some noise in the cab but hey it mellows out at cruising speed. Looked at Borla, Gibson and others, but got this done locally, with essentially the same design (mandrel bent pipes, welded seams) for a lot less than the others. First tank of gas indicates about a 1.5 mpg improvement and I was already getting 19 out of a 5.3 LM7 with a 3.73 locker. I kept the exit pipes at 2.25 to keep torque down low in rpm range and this thing absolutely sings...

Strength:

I got cool stickers

Weakness:

Everything, pitiful sound, no crackle, no rumble, quieter than a 4 cylinder

At $82.50 a muffler I wasted $165.00 These mufflers made my car quieter than when it was stock. I should have just put glass packs on it because they are only $18 a piece at the local auto parts and I wouldn't have to special order them. They suck on my Monte Carlo SS. I put a glass pack on my 99 Ranger 3.0L and it is louder and more noticable than a 305 H.O. with FLOWMASTERS. I guess different cars have different responses to flowmasters, i got the 40 series. I would recommend anyone with a Monte Carlo SS not to waste their money on the flowmasters. They are quieter than stock.

durable, well built, lifetime warranty, deep, performance sound, made my V6 car sound like a V8

Weakness:

None

Hey, when my muffler first cracked I wasn't sure what I was going to replace it with. After looking around and getting some people's opinions I decided to go with the Flowmaster 40 Series. Now I only have a 3.1L V6 with a true dual exhaust, but these mufflers sound amazing. They make my car sound like a V8. And for only $300 for both mufflers and installation it was a great deal. In fact, the second day after getting them installed I actually set off the alarm on a parked car. That was fun. These mufflers sound great and are built to last a long time. Plus the sound at idle is great, even then the Flomasters make a deep rumble. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a deep, loud sound to their exhaust. And if you have a V6 and are unsure if these will sound good, trust me they do. My Grand Prix is proof of that. I've only had these for a few days, so I can't wait to break them in and get an even better sound.

Strength:

Aggressive sound, but not too loud inside the cab. Increased power. Sounds awesome when truck is started!

Weakness:

None

I just replaced the Gibson muffler on my truck with a 40 series Flowmaster and it sounds ten times better! The Gibson sounded like stock, only a little louder, but the Flowmaster sounds tough!!! Now the sound matches the looks of my truck. I also noticed a slight improvement in acceleration and passing seems easier on the highway.
