Strength:
Great sound. Gives a nice little boost in power (enough you can feel it).
Weakness:
none! I have had a Flowmaster 40 series on my Camaro for 3+ years. I have recently purchased the Tundra and putting the Flows in it this weekend! I had a $5K stereo in my Camaro and would turn off the stereo just to listen to the rumble of the engine! I know I will love it. I am told that it will be too loud in the truck because the 4.7L is already REALLY loud! I don't know. I will probably stick with the 40 series (and it is a little cheaper too!) I highly suggest a K&N Filter also because it isn't worth clearing up the out without making a clean intake also! Similar Products Used: would use no other! |

POWER and MORE POWER!
Weakness:
What is this? As a returning Flowmaster user I highly recommend this equipment to anyone seeking a new muffler. I had a new 40 series installed with dual pipes and WOW! Power is waiting for me to let it loose. *Full Catback System* Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Sounds great under load. I would like a little more deep volume at idle. Can't go wrong. Fully recommend.
Weakness:
I would like to have a little more aggressive at idle, but no complaints. Wow... What an improvement over stock. I was really worried that the 40's would be too agressive and I almost went with the Delta 50's. I am glad I didn't. With the factory cats, the the system is just perfect. I still can carry a conversation, and the light drone around 1900 rpm still sounds great. Probably paid a little much, but it was well worth it from a top quality shop. Similar Products Used: Stock |

FlowMaster Stainless Steel 50 series
Strength:
HP and Torgue gain. Stainless Steel FlowMaster name
Weakness:
None I had it installed on my 2002 Kia Rio (1.5L DOHC-16 valves). I had a local shop also do a cat-back with 2" pipe and removed the resonator too. It has a nice deep tone (not ricey at all). Not to loud, wife even drives it to work =) Total cost for cat-back and muffler $175 Similar Products Used: I always used FlowMaster on all my cars/trucks/suburban |

Chevy Cavalier
I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions of mufflers that sound good on a cavalier. I don't want it to sound like a rice burner but have more of a beefy sound and still have performance. I could also live without much sound coming from it at all, as long as it increases hp. |

Strength:
Makes even my 165hp 351 sound like it's got some power.
Weakness:
Interior drone at about 40mph but if you wanted to hear your exhaust in the first place you won't mind. I don't. Converted to dual exhaust and put on a pair of Delta 40's. Gave my '73 a very nice growl. Not too loud so I can slip out of the parking lot without waking the neighbors, but when I give it the gas...Oh yeah! Can't say I noticed any power or fuel gain but sound was what I was really going for. Beautiful. Similar Products Used: Stock, cheap-o auto shop mufflers. |

Ranchero
Strength:
Built to last...and never looses its sound.
Weakness:
they could make them in stainless steel or use high temp coating instead of high temp paint to make them last alot longer The Flowmaster 40 series is the best sounding muffler...period. I've had them on my ranchero for awhile now and it still thunders down the road. But listen...just because it sounds good on your buddy's car, doesnt mean it will on yours...all cars are different. Take in consideration that the CATS will make it 2 times quieter. If you want it really loud, then don't have CATS and use headers also. Headers seem to hollow out the sound alot more. Strength:
improved throttle response, hp, and its LOUD
Weakness:
none I just had a true dual exhaust put on my 1987 chevy el camino (305 v8 4bbl) with no converters. The sound this muffler makes AWSOME. Not to loud at idle or at high speeds, but when you sit there and rev it or from 0-45 its LOUD. But don't expect a 305 to sound like big block. Similar Products Used: stock |

Deep, throaty roar. Awesome look. Attention getter.
Weakness:
flowmaster...weakness?...HA! I just had new exhausts built for my vette with two new sets of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and boy do they sounds AWESOME! I'm restoring it and I have the interior out of the car at the moment, so i dont drive it much. I cannot wait to get it finished so I can drive it around. I've only had them 3 days, but I can only keep dreaming about driving it! They have the deep, throaty roar that I was wanting. I definately recommend the Flowmaster 40 series muffler! |
