Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

BORLA exhaust is built of aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel -- stainless inside and out, not mild steel, not aluminum, not coated aluminum, not just wrapped with stainless on the outside for show. Coating techniques, such as aluminizing, can somewhat prolong the life of mild steel, but coatings suffer at the weld points. And, comparing aluminized steel to T-304 stainless steel is like comparing gold-plated metal to solid gold! T-304 stainless steel has the highest chromium content, making it the most resistant to corrosion and therefore the most desirable material for a long-lasting exhaust system. Note: Only the flanges are not stainless. Available for most all popular US, Japanese and European car applications.

Strength:

Deep sound, quality, and power at low to high revs.

Weakness:

Expensive.

I didn't want to draw attention all the time. With the Borla everybody asks me if I have a V-6! thats how good it sounds. I can rev it to 7.5k and listen to it all day long. It doesn't have a loud hollow or buzzing sound most of the "kids" have.

Understand that I was one of the first to buy this product
Cost was about $300 plus freight.

Strength:

Sound, fit, finish, and exhaust tips.

Weakness:

None. I bought mine with a discount coupon on Carparts.com (1/3 off without the $100 limit on savings) They stopped doing this shortly after I purchased mine.

I love how it mild it sounds when driving mildly and how wicked it sounds when driving aggressive. I personally like the drone and deep bass you feel between 2000 - 2400 rpms. The car sounds incredible at wide open throttle under a bridge or in a tunnel. I like how is sounds "exotic" or "tuned" to me. The fit and finish are suberb. The exhaust tips fill up the back of my bumper very well too. I suppose there may be some performance to be gained with this exhaust, but I won't say that I actually "felt" a performance gain. But, I didn't purchase it for a performance gain, simply for sound and looks.

Strength:

Deep sound that gets better/louder with time. A slight increase in low end power/torque and very high build quality. I've owned it for well over 3 years and it still looks like new. Of course, I'm the retard that's under the car trying to clean my muffler/tail pipes.

Weakness:

If this lasts as long as the car the cost it will be a steal! It's a little too loud if you're driving the car hard.

Sounds great when you're going through a tunnel or under a bridge. When you buy this don't think you getting a quiet "factory" replacement. It gives you more power, noice, and a great look.

I didn't really notice any substantial gas milage increase, but there is a definite difference in low end torque.

I highly recommed this system if you're into that sports car sound, want a little more torque, and you live in salty area.

Great Exhaust!! If your looking for SOUND, this is the way to go! I searched for a while to find the exhaust system that would best fit my T/A. This is what I came up with!

Sounds greeeeeat! I noticed a huge difference in the performance compared to the stock system.

Weakness:

Kind of costly. But the quality and added HP makes up for it.

Easily installed, sounds great. A true head turner. Gives me an even more advantage over the 5.0/4.6 and any other contender. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for easy HP and a nice deep sound from their car.

Strength:

Less flow restrictions, Sound, Quality of parts and construction.

Weakness:

COST. Compared to many other manufacturers the Borla Cat Back system is pretty expensive but for the quality and performance gains it brings, you should be happy.

I have had a Borla Cat Back system on my Trans AM for about 2 and a half years now and have not been let down. The Construction is first class and the materials are also high quality stainless. I like the ability to tune the noise levels and performance levels with the included baffle plates. I run my system completly open and although it is loud it is not what I would term obtrusive. When you floor your car though the Borla makes your car sound like a nascar and definately turns heads. I do wish though that Borla would make some other exhaust tips. There is nothing bad with the dual tip chrome that come with the system but they offer no real variety with tips. No big deal though. I would recommend this system to anyone who is not concerned about noise and who wants the performance gain of a more free flowing system.

The Borla replaced the stock exhaust system and was no comparison. Up front the thing you notice first is no longer having those ugly gray exhuast tips that come from the factory.

Weakness:

boominess at around 2000 rpm
very large 4" tip, would have preferred 3.25" or 3.5" on the 3" tailpipe

Excellent quality and workmanship. The supplied clamps are the finest I have ever seen. Sounds awesome but a little on the loud side at times. Installed the free venturi obtained from Borla (on request) to tone it down a little.
