Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

BORLA exhaust is built of aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel -- stainless inside and out, not mild steel, not aluminum, not coated aluminum, not just wrapped with stainless on the outside for show. Coating techniques, such as aluminizing, can somewhat prolong the life of mild steel, but coatings suffer at the weld points. And, comparing aluminized steel to T-304 stainless steel is like comparing gold-plated metal to solid gold! T-304 stainless steel has the highest chromium content, making it the most resistant to corrosion and therefore the most desirable material for a long-lasting exhaust system. Note: Only the flanges are not stainless. Available for most all popular US, Japanese and European car applications.

Model Reviewed: 97 Tahoe 4dr

Strength:

The instructions made it easy to install. The tips don't stick too far out from under the rear bumper and there are no ugly universal clamps! Everything is designed to fit like a glove.

Weakness:

Because my Tahoe comes with a tailgate and the exhaust exits from the rear it can get a little noisy at low speeds. Nothing a good stereo can't fix.

Right away I noticed a big increase in low and high-end power. Not to mention the growl that comes from the dual pipes.

Model Reviewed: 1986 Corvette

Strength:

WOT Throttle Sound,

Weakness:

Some resonance when I added headers, it sounded really good with the exhaust.

When put on a stock corvette it sounded good, quiet but it had a nice burble to from the stock mufflers, no resonance. A good choice in my opinion. When I added it headers, it did get a bit loud and there is some resonance 1000-2000 rpm. It sounds awesome under WOT. It has mean sounding idle, but it does get loud in every day driving, because of the resonance. I am currently exploring idea to get rid of the resonance (corssover pipes and an additional borla resonantor).
