Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

Borla Cat-Back System Cat back Exhaust Systems

DESCRIPTION

BORLA exhaust is built of aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel -- stainless inside and out, not mild steel, not aluminum, not coated aluminum, not just wrapped with stainless on the outside for show. Coating techniques, such as aluminizing, can somewhat prolong the life of mild steel, but coatings suffer at the weld points. And, comparing aluminized steel to T-304 stainless steel is like comparing gold-plated metal to solid gold! T-304 stainless steel has the highest chromium content, making it the most resistant to corrosion and therefore the most desirable material for a long-lasting exhaust system. Note: Only the flanges are not stainless. Available for most all popular US, Japanese and European car applications.

Strength:

Stainless Steel, unique looking setup from rear, nice and mellow in park but loud as hell at WOT

Weakness:

Not quite as deep of an idle sound as I had expected.

My 95 T-Bird has a 99 Mustang Gt motor transplant and a nitrous express 150 shot for the drag strip. This exhaust is neither restrictive nor raucous and that is exactly what I wanted. It turns heads when it needs to.I love the unique setup of the tips and mufflers out back and the fact that after almost 1 year of running the system, my mufflers aren't rusting away like my old flows. Everyone I know loves the sound because it's "different" or "exotic" sounding. Wouldn't trade the system for any other. Cost was up there for an exhaust system, but in the long run for fit, finish and quality, Borla did it right.

Looks great and sounds very nice. Louder than stock, with a muted burble that almost sounds like a small V8. Million mile warrenty a plus.

Weakness:

Costs a bundle.

I wanted something a bit different on my first new car. You rarely ever see a late-model Olds with modifications. Borla has a great reputation, and you can see the quality in their work. True, you pay a bit more for the name, but it's well worth it when you punch the throttle. This exhaust grabs your attention, but is not all that loud. Just a nice subdued rumble. Nothing but the best.

Strength:

quality of the product and the factory like fit, the sound and the price.

Weakness:

none at all. dont have products for all types of vel.

I have a 2001 suburban 2500 with a 6.0 lt, I installed a set of borla headers part #17110.The headers fit just like factory, this made the world of a difference both milage and power. Then I installed a cat-back syspem part #14933 this put the icing on the cake. Between the new sound and power i know i spent my money right. There is nothing that could come close to this combo. I'v had borla products for over 8 years on other cars, suv's. Like i said there is no better product.

Strength:

Baffle adjustability, stainless steel craftsmanship

Weakness:

Cost, poor assembly instructions, 2 person install, only exhaust tips and muffler are polished.

The Borla Catback for the 4th gen Fbody is a good improvement over the stock exhaust system. Installation was cumbersome if you do it yourself, took about 3 hours in my garage. I opted to keep the stock exhaust intact when it was removed but you could take a sawzall and the stock exhaust removal would be much easier. The assembly instructions with the borla stunk. When you go to align the intermediate pipe, it is good to have a buddy help. Once installed, I ran with the borla wide open and it was beautiful but I made quick enemies with my neighbors so I had to install a smaller baffle to adjust the rumble. Recommend that you use anti seize compound on the bolts that attach to the right exhaust baffle as they will rust. Most of the other catbacks provide about the same sound but he Boral gives you the exhaust adjustability plus a cool set of exhaust tips.

The Borla exaust system on my mustang is no doubt much better than the stock exaust. The look, sound, and performance by far outweigh the stock. I bought the car used and the exaust was one of the first things that I noticed about the car, I had to get it! Sometimes I just drive it and listen to the sound, I love it.

Weakness:

None really, the only thing is that it can get a little loud in 5th gear if you are only going about 60-65, but I don't mind that!

I would definitely recommend this product to anybody who has recently bought a new Mustang.

I love the way this dual exhaust system look on my Mustang, definitely much better than stock. I like the fact that I don't need to ever change this exhaust system, I like the Lifetime Warranty on this product which tells the consumers a lot. I love the way this exhaust sounds on my mustang very deep and throaty unlike the other exhaust system on 4 cylinder cars. There is truly no comparison.

Weakness:

Nothing

I would definitely recommend this product to anybody who is shopping for an exhaust system. It might be a little pricy but it's well worth your money considering it comes with a lifetime warranty. Definitely a great addition to any vehicle. Extra Horsepower gains, looks, style and the ease of installation.

SOUND!!! Stainless steel. Ability to change plates for desired sound.

Weakness:

Makes me wish i didn't have Flowmasters (40 series) on my Chevelle

OK, first of all, this kit was acutally on my roomates car, but... WOW, excellent sound! Great rumble, not a bothersome noise inside the car, love how the LS1's "pop" with this exhaust when you let off the gas.

The plates that allow you to change the tone are an excellent feature - no more hunting for "the sound", just change a plate. I have a pair of Flowmasters (42553) on my Chevelle, and now i'm looking at getting Borla's. Someone else i know got the Flowmaster system for his Camaro, what a joke... Not to mention, Stainless will never rot out - do it once, do it right!

Beautiful, almost too pretty to install when new; easy installation; like that it'll be on my truck for as long as I own it

Weakness:

Unfortunately unit produces a resonant 'drone' at my normal cruising speed of 90Km/H; this drone disappears above or below that speed; MAY not have encountered drone IF I'd opted for the dual-outlet exhaust (required for 5.8L) instead of single outlet; have NOT noticed any appreciable mileage increase (like magazines promised)

Paid around $500Cdn for it when I bought it; have had NO trouble with it since purchased; muffler runs VERY cool since it appears to be basically straight through design;

Strength:

Very easy to install because it uses all of the factory existing mounts. Made of stainless steel which will never rust out. Million Mile warranty. Made a differance in power and gas milage. Worth every penny even though compared to others is more money. Nice workmanship and design with mandrel bends with a nice deep sound that is not loud.

Weakness:

Flanges are made of steel not stainless and after a while caused surface rust

I was told to buy Borla from a local performance shop after my stock system rusted itself in different spots. I put on a header, high flow cat and the cat-back sytem. The stock system would cost $1500-1700 from jeep to replace and still rust out over time with no change in performance. The exhaust was 1/4 inch in diameter and dropped my water temp. by 10 degrees and 2-3 miles per gallon. I actually used the Million Mile Warranty last year when the fitting for the oxygen sensor had a crack apprear which caused a loud pop and till I got home the car was very loud. I called Borla and in two days a new Header arrived at my house and they paid for return shipping. Myself and other reviews must be right because car companies such as Ford(Mustang R) and Mercedes SL600 use Borla Systems.
