don t use a seal box .. sounds terrible oh and don t use under 250rms they also sound badd.. i would runn 300rms in them for a perfect match eehejejejeehehe great sub i ran my 2 12s off a coustic amp for about 1 yr at 250 rms each in a ported box with 2.25 cubic ft each sub and 3 x 11 inch ports. i then installed a DEI 1100d and ran my subs 2 ohm wher they were gettin 400rms each and jeeez were they LOUDD and DEEEp . but then they blew after 3 weeks of hard work eheh hehehe so i recoiled them at 2 ohms and ran them at 1 ohm so i put 600rms in each . hehe it lasted ah feww days then blew again i expected it to with 600rms hehe who cares it made my back windscreen leak eheh Similar Products Used: mtx 8000 vega...orions |

Strength:
loud good quality sound & reliable
Weakness:
using non MTX amps i bought 3 MTX 6000 10in subs in a q-logic encosure with a MTX 6500 class d amp powering them with 750 rms watts. spent over 1000 on this system from crutchfield when i could have got them here for 400 less. these s.o.b.''s are hella loud with good quality sound without distortion. MTX subs work better with MTX amps because before i got the MTX amp i used a rockford fosgate one and got better quality from the MTX. Similar Products Used: rockfosgate amp |

mtx 6000 12" (2)
Strength:
high power handleing. deep, deep, deep bass looks very very aggressive without looking generic
Weakness:
could hit a little faster. its so hard to clean around the edges of the spines. Ive tried just about every budget sub on the market.and NOTHING hits like a MTX 6000 for the price. I paid a little over 200 dollers for two 6000''s and a sealed MTX wedge box. I power them with a piece of crap American PRO amp and they still create monsterous bass. i drive a van and i gutted the whole thing so theres a lot of airspace these babys have to handle.I would recommend these subs to anyone who wants people to know your around. Strength:
its cheap, looks nice, good surround, handles wattage pretty good
Weakness:
not loud enough, sound quality is lacking, crappy terminals, small magnet They are okay for beginners. In my opinion mtx has the most overrated subs. i had two tens hooked up to a rockford 360a2 amp tested at 580 watts, and they sounded ok, nothing great, and i replaced them quick. I could hear them rattling an d not holding there note, more than the bass they produced. I used to have a 12" XLC that was just as loud as these 2 tens.ans they just cannot compare to the infinity kappa perfect that i have in my car now. i took out my friend who had 4 of these tens with my one Perfect. If your running low on money and dont have high standards for bass go for it, but if yolu have the cash look eslewhere, and not at the 8000''''s either, they are just as bad. Nice deep bass, makes it hard to breath
Weakness:
It rattles the trunks of every car, I would recomed a Dynomat trunk kit with it. I just got 3 6000''s and these things POUND!!! I am running a MTX 6500 series, 775watt RMS amp, and its the perfect amount of power for these 250 watt peak subs. I would recomend these to anyone who lives in cold weather. The seals dont crack like JL''s. Similar Products Used: Rockford Fosgates (not even close) |

One MTX Thunder 6000 10"
Strength:
Hits hard, deep, can easily make your ears ring and get a headache
Weakness:
Does make a strange, airy sound when pushed hard, but it is so quiet you don''t really notice it. Great sub for a great price, was a little skeptical at first, but, I threw just one 10" in the back of my 4Runner, the entire car shook and my neighbor started to wonder what was in my car. My friends were shocked when they listened and saw it was just from one 10. I almost don''t see any point in getting another, but it sure is tempting, but I might blow my windows out!! I have it hooked up to a MTX Thunder 4000 series amp (forgot the exact model), and has 230 watts feeding to it bridged in mono. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
It shakes my gut and makes my mirrors dance.
Weakness:
It shakes my gut. OH Cricky!!! ok this thig pounds. I have one 12" 6000 in the custom MTX wedge. I have four infinity reference 5x7''s for my aftermarkets. I am running them off a MTX thunder 320(420w). This thing hurts. The old lady thinks it to be too much. Dont think I could compete, but not totally sure I couldn''t. A very good investment.
