30-70 range sounds best, limited range keeps your fingers busy at the EQ. Just tossed them in today. Picked them up for a steal, roughly 50% off(with warrenty) as they were in a wall display but nothing has been hooked up to them! Similar Products Used: Replaced Lanzar 10's (no comparison) |

Strength:
-kick hard
Weakness:
the factory glued 2 of the subs wrong. it has made me check every speaker i have bought since. didn't know they were glued wrong until later down the road I would recommend the 3 10" box to people. I have mine in my backseat not in the trunk. Better spot for it in my opinion. Don't have to turn up as loud to hear it as good. Easily makes hair move and seats too. Has good, quick responding thump, but doesn't have low earth rattling bass. But should 10's have low earth rattling bass. It can play more clear than a pair of 12's that are not of the highest quality. You probably won't get the accurate thump. They do kick with high clarity and can keep on hitting hard and accurate with many bass notes thumping at once and quickly. I treat mine like crap and always try to hurt them but they don't blow. I have a RF 800a2 going to them which is perfect. Had them for 5 years. Only problem was the glue job they did on the surround. They glued some of the surround to the frame which made an eventual tear in my sub, which produced crappy sound. I have since used silicone on them on the surround and crank them louder than I did before. I don't play to distort but just barely under that. A good silicone job should last 2 years probably. 3 starts on value rating since the glue job pissed me off, but did nothing to the performance of the speakers. Will be getting a 15 soon to give me some rattling to compliment the hard hard kick. Similar Products Used: i have heard one infinity perfect 12.1 which is a good sub. not close as loud as 3 10" 5000mtx, but should it be? |

None to be found....maybe power handling but it wails with about 200-250 RMS Great sub for the money. I read alot of reviews about different 12" subs and decided on the MTX 6000 b/c the price mainly. If you read these posts, you will hear alot of opinions and everyone seems to like what they have at the time. These are great sounding subs for all types of music, very tight hits. 10 minutes after my install (1 12" MTX 6000 in a sealed enclosure powered by a MTX Thunder 102 amp) the damn thing rattled my mirror off, not bad for one 12. If you are on a tight budget, I would highly recommend this combo, especially in a hatchback or SUV. Mine pounds in my Grand Cherokee, sounds better than the 2 12" MTX 4000's I had a couple of years ago. Also, if you are in NC or SC, check out the guys at Car Stereo Warehouse, I got my setup with install the same day with them for $360. BOTTOM LINE......GET THE MTX 6000, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED. Bang for the Buck is the best phrase to discribe these woofers. I have a crossfire 100x2, only 100w per woofer and these subs are still shakin my mirrors of my Xterra.
Weakness:
I cant tell of any weaknesses, because i only have 100w powering them but i plan to get 300w pumping them, which i heard will make em shake my truck If you are just starting out with a stereo, and you dont want to spend alot, these woofers are for you. They are very depeendable also, and most inportantly, they hit hard! Similar Products Used: JL 12's, they were fragile, unlike the MTX's, with the rubber surround and plastic cones. |
