Strength:

For the price, I don't think you can find a better deal. I have never blown a kicker compVR (I've owned both 10" and 12" versions) as long as I hadn't grossly overpowered it. They hit hard and are tough as nails. Why get anything else?

Weakness:

Nothing that I can think of that would be worth mentioning. Its just a great sub.

Before I start praising these sub's, here is what I am running for the bass in my truck. -Directed 600d Amp (1 Ohm) ~ 600 watts RMS -Lightning Audio Strike 1 Farad Cap -4 Guage Wiring to Amp -Monster Cable Interconnects -Sony Mobile ES HU/4 volt outputs -Two Separate 2.25 CU/FT vented enclosures (kicker spec) -Charging system (85 Amp alternator)currently can only supply enough amperage to run at about 3/4 total power before the voltage level starts dropping before 12.5 volts. THIS WILL BE FIXED -Low pass set at about 80hz ~12 DB roll off, Subsonic set at 25 hz At the current configuration these subs pound. Low end bass extension is excellent, as well at upper bass. I am very pleased with this SPL of these subs, and even the SQ is good considering the excursion rate of these subs. These subs will rattle everything in your vehicle, so expect to invest in some sound damping products to stop it. There are better subs out there, but you'll pay AT LEAST twice as much (unless you get hooked up).

GREAT SOUND QUALITY! AWESOME PRICE!!! Hit hard! Bought off of user "e-sale.com" on Ebay for 195$ for 2 12" 2002 models.

Weakness:

Stuff I didn't even knew I had on my car is trying to rattle off. Attracts alot of attention going down streets. haha

When I first was looking around for subs I wasn't looking for a particular brand. After 1 look at these at my local audio store I decided I had to get me a pair of these. I made my own box exactly to Kickers suggestion and have a 1000 watt Clarion amp pushing these babies at 450 x 2 @ 2 ohms. I have not heard ANY DISTORTION. Whoever has some, needs a better amp!!!!!

Strength:

LOUD,Deep, alot of people dont know about Comp VRs so you can be a trend setter.MAN THESE SUBS ARE LOUD,DEEP, AND SMOOTH AT THE SAME TIME. ATTRACTS ALOT OF PEOPLE

Weakness:

MAY ATTRACT THE WRONG TYPE OF PEOPLE (THIEFS)

This dood had these Subs in his car at Black Bikers Week in Mytle Beach, SC and he had it pumping loud and people was coming from all over asking him MAN THAT **** is loud as **** what you got in the trunk. That music was hitting so hard you could see the seets vibrating. When he said he had 2 12s people were amazed because the subs were so loud. RF cant touch the Comp VR as far as SQ goes, but the HX2 are a lil louder and makes you trunk rattle louder too. JLs sounds a little better but the Comps will kill em in on SPL. I would rather buy the Comp VRs because it was Smooth and LOUD bass instead loud bass poor SQ or Great SQ poor SPL. If you want to battle someone in the street with systems buy the Comp VRs. I dont know too much about SPL competitions so I aint going to tell you to enter one.

Strength:

They are well built, look great and sound awesome, for the money they can''''t be beat.

Weakness:

I haven''''t found any weaknesses yet. But i am only running each sub about 120 watts rms and they crave more, so i suggest about 200 watts per sub, 200 watts per sub = LOUD.

i''''d just like to say that i am now a Kicker fan. I have been through Orion, JL Audio and now Kicker. My 2 comp vr''''s (dual 4 ohm) are the best subs for the money that i have heard in a long time. They play very deep and have pretty good SQ. I built my box from the specs that came with the subs, and they sound great. I would suggest about 200 watts rms to each sub and ALOT of sound dampening in your trunk.

Impact on kick drums, and gutt bustin bass on rap tunes.

Weakness:

Uhhhh....mmmm..............

Im running the 12" DVC CompVR in a sealed box, and it pounds with a hair over 250watts. This sub has gobs of impact and gets loud enough to rattle everything in the car....and this is with 150watts less than the subs RMS!!! The sub also goes very low and sounds great.

Strength:

I replaced three JL Audio 12w6''s with two of these subs to decrease the amount of space that my speaker box took up. A kicker ZR 1000 amp is running both of the 10''s and there is no distortion and sound quality is comprable to the three 12w6''s. This is a great speaker.

Weakness:

I havent fried the voice coils yet so I dont really have any complaints

The Kicker VR series seems very well built. Sounds very good for a 10 inch subwoofer. Very good power handling.
