Strength:

Nice excursion, Build Quality is outstanding for a sub of this price. LOUD LOUD LOUD. Nice durability.

Weakness:

If you regularly pump huge amounts of power to them in a ported box(over rms ratings) they might have power handling problems... We will see...

Im impressed, these are cheap, but they are really loud. My car was metered at 145.6 db at the dashboard(the mic I was metered on is rumored to be reading 1.5+ db low) with 2 of them in a 5 cu foot ported box in my trunk and 1200W of power. Thats pretty loud. My neighbors hate me (they have chased me down the street before)people have actually gotten out of their cars in traffic because these are sooo loud they piss old people off! Bikers have actually surrounded my car at a red light and wanted to know what I was running, so prepared to be noticed if you are gonna run these with lots of power. The sound quality is ok, but they play pretty deep and low for 12s. People in strip malls have came out of the stores because they wanted to see what was shaking their ceiling tiles! Im notorius with the locals around me, they nicknamed my car the Epicenter. The only problem Ive came across in the 6 months ive owned them is that if you push them repeatedly at or past 600wrms per driver the motor stuctures (magnet, voice coils etc) get really hot(sometimes you can feel the dustcap get hot), and start to smell funny, but I havent blown any, they just get really toasty, so you gotta watch them and turn it down if things start getting terminal. People are shocked at how much the cones actually move. My friend has a pair of Audiobahn 1200x's and they are pretty close to the VR's but they have better power handling, but their sound quality isnt as good.

kryptonite and supermodels.(they are just shy)

i currently only have about 50 watts to each sub thats with the 8 guage wire and a single amp going to everything that makes sound. Needless to say my car is the essecnce of an underpowered system however i still bump most cats and i think im killing my car from the inside.

Strength:

Excellent Construction. Built to last. Work in a wide range of box sizes and applications. Sound excellent even if you have to run them with lower power. Look cool and sound great at a very affordable price.

Weakness:

If any, the speaker grille's are way to damn expensive.

I live in Wisconsin and I get a lot of crap from people when I tell them what I have in my Blazer. "Kicker Sucks" is what I hear until I hit the volume up button about 25 times and people's jaws literally drop. Then they ask how much I paid and they crap themselves when they hear that I paid half what they bought there inferior JL12w3's for. I'm running these subs with a kicker kx800.2 (400 watts rms per sub) and it is disgusting. I ran them with 150 x 2 and they still pounded. These are the best subs I have ever heard for any subs under $250 a piece. And they are only a quarter of that price.

Strength:

amazing amounts of bass for the price. quality built; wont fall apart. good frequency response range.

Weakness:

1) Bleeding eardrums may be a turn-off to some girls. 2)i'm running out of super glue for reinstalling my rearview mirror every week.

i drive a '94 gmc extended cab pickup. i wasnt doing much else with the extended cab part of the truck so i figured i could fill it up with a few speakers. i have four of these compVRs for $90 apiece in sealed boxes. each sub has a seperate Hifonics "Son of Boltar" 500 watt amp dedicated to it. Needless to say, these speakers hit harder than my friends JBL 15"s. two 1Farad capacitors help keep the power flowing i suggest them to anybody with more than 500 watts of power going to thier system. my neighbors hate me. and that makes me feel good.

Hard hitting even off of only 200 watts rms.

Weakness:

None noticed

I have two of these in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma in a 1 cu ft box. They sound great. I listen to all types of music. They hit clean and reproduce Kick drum and bass guitar wonderfully in heavy metal, and they slam with bass music like rap and dance and top 40.

Strength:

Enormous bass, low price for what you get, the best sub I've heard

Weakness:

Kicker needs to make this sub in an 8 Ohm option.

I bought this sub for my girlfriends car. This was my first time buying a Kicker product. And let me tell you it will not be the last! This is an awsome sub that can shake any system you hook it up to. I have a cheep Jensen XA2150 Amp that I paid $79.00 for from onlinecarstereo.com pushing this beast in the truck of my girlfriends 1993 Saturn SC1

Strength:

Very cheap, very high craftsmanship, look like they will last for a long time, sound absolutly great

Weakness:

haven't found any, oh, you can't get the nicer speaker wire terminals(push button) on the dual 4 ohms, so i had to get the dual 2 ohm and run them at 4 ohms

Really good speaker, for a really amazing price! They have the best wire connections i have ever used, I have the dual 2 ohm speakers, they are the only ones that come with the push down terminals, way worth it, also the basket is nice and the cone is stictched in instead of glued, the wire between terminal and speaker cone is also of high quality, I am using a Premier 720 amp(made by pioneer) And they sound great, especially for only 220. They do kind of stink though, but i figure that is because they are brand new and they aren't broke in yet, I always thought kicker was mediocore, but after using many companies, and having speakers, either blow up or fall apart, i am really impressed by the craftsmanship, and sound quality out of these speakers, definetly sound really good, and they haven't even broke in yet, they are supposed to sound better after. I have used JL W3's what a joke! they only play low bass, they don't hit whatsoever, and the parts they use suck, they don't seem very fancy to me, I had a pair of G and S redlines(local bay area company) sounded great but fell apart, had a pair of really expensive Premeier 12's but i blew those out due to wrong wiring!! those sounded good but not that much more considering how much they cost, i have used crap like boss, acoustic, kicker solobaric, Kicker is by far the best and cheapest, I'm sold!
