Strength:

The best sub I have ever heard. The price is right for the performance you get.

Weakness:

Haven't found a weekness.

I have a 10" JL Adio W3 in JL sealed enclosure. At 250 watts, my Ranger bumps. Eveyone who gets in and listens asks if I have 2 12s before looking back at the single 10". A friend had 2 10" Rockford Fosgates and after hearing my single 10", he went and got a 12" JL W3. It not only sounds better but cleaner. I definately recomend them for someone who is short on space.

Pioneer are OK, Rockford are poor, Kenwood are mediocre, but the JL W3s are sweet

Strength:

I think jl is one of the best on the market. The w3 dose well in seald inclosers but that is all i have herd it in.

Weakness:

mabe the foam surround not much though

i would recommend it but its all in what kinda sound you want. The speakers are good but preform differently in differnt boxes. if you are lookin for some bass these baby's in a banpass box will kick your ass. but if the air space is not to the T is will sound like crap. In the end its all in the box and how you seal it.

Similar Products Used:

kicker, jensen, phosgate, mtx, infinty, pioner, jbl, polk,jl. i have been through and listend to a hell of a lot of speakers and jl is one of the best.

Strength:

I've got 2-12"W3-D2's running from a Lanzar 240 600 watt amp and... yo... these things BUMP!!! I've got about 300 watts RMS @ 2ohms comin' out of the amp.

Weakness:

None really. One of the best... if not... THE best subs on the market.

If you want hard, tight, deep bass then these are the subs you're lookin' for. At a great price also. Only ended up paying $150.00 bucks for each sub because I got hooked up from one of my boys.

JL Audio 12W0's. NOTHING compared to the W3's. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Strength:

I love the sound quality. It handles alot of power with no problem at all. It still sounds good at very low levels too. I love the sub for what I use it for. Full fulling bass. And the power is there when my friends are in the car. I am running it with an Alpine V12 sub amp, (150 RMS) I would buy this amp if you want everything you can get from this sub. I also built the box that JL audio says to built, the ported one. It goes so loud I wouldn't be able to stand it.

Weakness:

none, the price I payed sucked but I bought it a while back. I saw it for 145 on the internet.

The new 2001 W3's are amazing. I have 3 15's in a convertible truck. I hit a 142.1 With the top down!!! Not to mention it seems like that loud from 4 city blocks away. Everyone admits I have the loudest sounding vehicle.

Weakness:

None

630.00 bucks, you bet! I've it wasn't for the convertible i'd be hitting about 160 DB.

Strength:

sweeeeeetttttt subz. Crisp sound, nice and clear, Excellent SPL and SQ 50/50
POUNDS like hell, got it hooked up to a 2300x, and man, i knock things off peoples walls, set off car alarms, and shake other peoples cars when i drive by. he he he

Weakness:

THEIR IS NO WEAKNESS, THIS SUB IS FLAWLESS. JL has won more comps than any other sub on the market, PERIOD. JL improves every year. WATCH OUT for the W7 coming soon

paid 360 for both from digital wavez in cali, oh ya i would reccommend them. They are the best subz out their for the price. U buy these, it is guaranteed that u will be happy, and pound the world out of everything around u. Be aware that these subs have awsome soundwavez, and can easily reach high spl scores, causing hearing problems. I love pulling up to people's cars and shaking their cars, boy do they get upset. NO im not worried bout theft. WHY, i got my door handles shaved and my trunk key hole, got metal blocks in the doors ( no slim jims ), replaced my windows with that bouncy, non breakable window stuff ( awesome ) my enclosure is bolted down to the frame using different bolts, my trunk lid is chained down, ( cant open the lid ), fully loaded alarm system, and my subz as well as my amps and components are screwed in with different types of screws, also a lojack is installed, so go ahead and try to take my stuff

Model Reviewed: 1990 GMC K1500 Standard Cab

Strength:

The often overlooked "musicality" of the bass, not to mention the fact that it is able to pound on you as well, I actually found it to be rather cheap for the quality of sub, and the flexibility of the speaker (as far as being able to run a single, in pairs, in threes...)

Weakness:

Nothing really- the depth of the speaker (due to the large magnet) forces you to make a custom box if the space is tight, as in my standard cab truck, but that shouldn't be a problem for people with space to spare

As I read all of these reviews for this subwoofer, everybody talks about it being able to pound. Rockfords can pound too, but they sound like soggy ass when you match them with decent mids and highs. All you get is muffled punch- which is not good if you're looking for a system that actually sounds good. If you want to "bump" around town and try to look cool, not to mention spend more money for an inferior product, go ahead and buy Rockford. Personally, I'd rather out-"bump" them with a crisp JL that actually works with my system and just comes across as sounding clean.
I have 1 10W3-D2 in my GMC standard cab truck, behind the passenger seat, so the space is tight. It is running off of one Rockford Fosgate 360A2 (bench tested at 550 watts rms). And it pounds. And pounds. And pounds. There is something gratifying about rolling up on some guy who is blaring his "rap music" on his dual 12s and blowing him away with real music. But if you listen to the music at a decent level, the clarity of the bass is unreal.
If you are going to buy any car audio online, I strongly recommend www.matrixcaraudio.com, as I got this sub for $135 and the amp (which has an MSRP of $460 and sells at stores for $399) for $260. It also took only 4 business days to arrive. At those prices, you should get 2 or 3 of these subwoofers. Absolutely awesome. There are no better subs within $300 of this product. Very stong 5 stars.

I paid $130 for a VERY slightly used W3D2, and couldn't be happier. It hits low, strong, and is cleaner than most dental instruments. I like it.......................

Model Reviewed: JL Audio CS210-W3 ProWedge

Strength:

Quality, Awesome sound, good power handling and they hit really hard!

Weakness:

High price and long waiting period (the shop was back-ordered) for W3 subs.

I paid $404 for a JL Audio ProWedge CS210-W3. I tried several sub set up for my 95 BMW M3 and this is the best set up yet! I'm using a Phoenix Gold XS-2500 (500 WRMS)and this set up rocks! My Cars trunk is sealed very well so I needed a sub with a small box requirements, excellent power handling and DVC. I believe the W3 series is much better than the top of the line W6 series because of their longer excursion capability. These subs will make you sick, cause they hit so hard. But the best feature about the W3's is the awesome sound quality!

Strength:

built nicely

Weakness:

Low power handling, weak poly cone, foam surrounds. steel basket

I paid 250 for 2 in a box, but sold them. The GSI ULX subs just kill them, i have an extra pair i thought id use four, but 2 were more than enough. IM guessin im hitting about 150-155 db with 500 RMS to each 15. I will sell an extra pair, email me if interested.

I had 2 12 JL's but i wasnt to impressed. Then i switched to 2 GSI ULX 15 inchers, blew the pants off the JL, just massive bass in a small enclosure, efficient also!!!
