The subwoofer is 1600 watts and it caranks. I love it because Ii dont need to play it that loud so I dont have to worry about blowing it out.

There is nothing wrong with it unless I turn it up all the way. Once I blew out by back window.

I feel that if you like deep bass and love to listen to music than buy a subwoofer like this.

there is nothing to not like about the subs you have to make shure that the
the amp is strong enough to power the sub for instance the sub is 250 watt your amp should at least be 200 watts almost equal to the sub max output.

i would recomend it for any one the down side is the price but jl has always been at the top of sub manufacturing.

I have only 1 10w3 d2 with a mtx 400 watt amp powering it, in the back of my hatch back geo storm. Everyone thinks a 15 is back there and suprised to see its only a 10. I never heard a 10 that sounds so clean.

Deep clean hard hitting bass. They love power, the more you give them, the more you will be rewarded.

When I turn them up fairly loud, stuff in the car starts shaking around.

I have two 10"W3's. I would definately recommend these to anyone. I am only feeding them 80watts each, but they can still get the car shaking. I have them in the back of a Honda CRV. When I turn them up fairly loud the back windshield wiper starts rattling around. If you get these subwoofers I would recommend giving them at least 100watts each. If you want to get alot of bass, put two or more in your car. If you just want a good sounding system, them one or two should be more than enough.

I bought two of the 8 inch W3's and let me just say these subs kick some serious A$$! I paid 139.99 a peice at the Hifibuys at the Mall of Georgia. And let me say they are worth EVERY penny! I have them running with a Kenwood kac-719 amp, its 150 watt rms with 250 peak. I have it set on 1.5 ohms so its atually push a lettle more than that. And they just sound to good to be true! The bass is very clear, and they hit HARD! Don't was't your time on any other 8" sub, if your gonna get a 8" sub get these!

Amazing sound quality- louder, lower, and cleaner. I had two Kicker Competition 10" and replaced them with the 2 JLW3 12". I was very pleased. Great handling capabilities. Also, they come in a dual 2, 4, or 6 ohm which makes proper wiring easier. I have the dual 4 ohms wired in parallel series into a 4 ohm mono load. Although I have only owned my 2 for about two weeks, I have worked with these drivers for a while now.

You need to make a really stong box for these. No waffer board, partical board, or any of that cheap crap. You need at least 3/4" MDF. Do this and you will be amazed.

These subwoofers would be great for anyone with a reasonable amount of car audio knowledge. Novice installers beware- proper box volume and strength are critical with these drivers. But, if you make a correct and strong box you will be pleased. These drivers sound great on a vast audio plane. From country, rap, rock, acoustical, to alternative music, these drivers bring out that missing low voice in any song.

this is the best sub i have ever owned. I am running a single 12w3 in a sealed box with a Pheonix Gold XS 2300 in a grand am without a fold down seat. I previously had a fosgate 12" dvc and was very impressed untill I sold it and purchased a JL 12w3 4ohm. the jl had the same output but with tighter more musical bass. I eat my friends two Boston Acoustic Rally 12's for dinner with my one 12. Certainly worth the coin!

These speakers really are the best that I have ever come across. I have been speaker shopping around and the JL 12W3 came out on top!!!

What Weakness? I am running 8 12W3's in a wall in my Honda Civic. They are wired to 4 Class D 1000 watt crossfires. I entered in the DB drag competition and I hit 158.4 decibals, and I am not sh^tting you!!!

Whoever thinks that the JLW3 speakers suck! They really are missing out in a lot of good sh*t! I hit 158.4 with 8 12 inch speakers and 4 amps. A friend in my group is running a total of 16 10W3's and we came out in a tie! I am telling you that these speakers are top of the line in SPL and is worth the money. These are some speakers you would not want to miss out on. By the way I took 2nd place overall. The person that took first hit 164.8 decibals but he is running 4 15 inch digital designs, which are some kick a55 speakers too! He ran 4 15's and 16 1000 watt class D Crossfires, why wouldn't he take first???

The only thing that whould compare would be the 15W3, which is my next step after I sell my other speakers. I plan to upgrade to the 15W3's soon! Or digital design speakers which are a hell of alot more expensive.

People tell me these subs doesn't play loud enough. They all can go to hell!!!! I have two 12's in my '88 mitsubishi p/u king cab in a custom made box, behind da seats. I am pushing it with a bridged 400watt MTX amp-only 200 watts to each sub. I was doing a demo for some homies and it was setting off car alarms far away across da street. People was complaining about their vibratin windows from like 100 feet away. All of that with only one of my window partially open. It get even louder if I open both =)
But loudness isnt what's important, these sub sounds terrific with acoustic musics also.

Tight clean powerfull bass.

This review is for the w3-8 eight inch dual 6 ohm.
I started with a wo-8 with a sony amp 75-w x 2 bridged. Tis sub may be ok for starters but is not in the same class as the w3. Even in an 8 inch this is a high quality sub for the money. I have one w3-8 in a homade box behind the seat in a ford ranger reg. cab. I picked up a mtx 250 amp to push this sub for $100.00 at good guys. So my box is too small so I stuffed it with poly fill and dropped in this w3. What a beautifull thing.
What a differance, sooo much more bass than the w0. even at lower power I would recomend this sub. Why? Dual voice coils ran parallel.I had to turn my loudness down to low boost and reduced the gain settings to one half.
Bottom line buy this sub in any size, you will be very happy.
