Hard hittin sub, can't compare to any other sub out there. I have 4 10W3's on a Kenwood KAC-X301T, and I am able to hit 147db. Damn loud for 10's. I want to upgrade to 4 10W7's. heheehe

amazing clarity, doesnt require a lot of power, I have 100w rms going to each and for a pair of 8's(in toyota tacoma standard cab) they sound fantastic. Im able to set of car alarms with them, my mirror get worthless when Im rollin down with a long base line. I get the ladies in the ride with me especially the lil hot high school cutie pies, and lets face it thats saying something for 47year old man. Im pushing these sweet lil mamas with a fosgate amp they have to be best friends by now. because of the bass of just 2 8's, I have gotten so many dirty looks from old ladies (if you know what I mean)

foam surround, price, its hard to find any kind of dicount on jl products like you can with the other brands. I litterally had to swallow some guys load to get the deal I did

Probably the foam surround that comes off easily... but nothing a little superglue wont take care of.

These subs are truely amazing... i have 2 JL W3 10inchers in a sealed box of .75-.8 cu ft airspace... per side... powered by an ESX Quantum 1752... giving each sub roughly 270-300 watts RMS ... they are so clean, so accurate... loud, and sharp. I had MTX 6ks and 8ks before and compared to these... they were TRASH... how did i live with bass like that... But make sure you give them clean, and enough power.. i got a friend with the same subs but with one of those rip off brand amp... power aukstic.... and his shit sounds like shit...

it si great clearst bass over anything i have ever heard it hits hard has lows and is *ALWAYS* clear it is a great sub put it in a sealed box feed it sum wattage and boom your impressed

don't listen to what other people say jl is one of the best companys and if you buy naything buy JL AUDIO they are great im so happy wiht everyhting i am only running 250/1 to series wired subs and tehy hit excellent im getting a jl; 500/1 amp that ill run through and it shoudl bloe my brains out

i have 2 jl W3 12's in a ported box, powered by 2 jl 500/1 in a comero. i went to a competion in macon and i hit 157.8. my dad has 3 audiobahn alum 12's in a S-10 and he only hit 134.2. they suck @$$. and one of my friends has 2 jl W0 8's and he hit more than my dad he hit 135.3. them 2 8's are slammin. everybody thinks he has 2 15's. if you what SQ and SPL then you need jl audio. and when the jl W7's come out im going to get 2 10's and i will be hitting about 160.0 db. jl all the way nothing comes close.

Great performance even at moderate power amps.
Dual voice coils (2 4 ohm wired in parallel for 2 ohms)

Foam surround dries out and rips in long term.(Keep out of the sun!)

I have a lot of experience in car audio and have had the time to compare a great number of subs. JL makes a great product and performs very well. Great sub-bass and stays stable. I have found that it will perform better in a box at 1.50 cubic feet rather than 1.25. You can feel the bass in your chest while your head rattles. Overall I would highly recommend this subwoofer. Only rated 4 stars for overall because of drying out of foam surround.
