Strength:

Very good clean bass. Does not distort.

Weakness:

Bottoms out on some songs and have to turn the bass down on some songs. but other than that it was good.

They sound good enough for me and I would rather w3's but the w0's are good for now. I have it hooked up to a punch 250 and the bass isn't trun up all of the way and sounds good.

Sounds much better that 2 RF 15's.

Strength:

-I bought a pair for $ brand new
-they didn't take too much power
-they polypropelene cone sounds nice
-they hit a deep low

Weakness:

-they cheaply made ( foam surround very cheap )
-JL claims to be a leading company, so why did they use the same glues throughout the sub, same glue in hot spots like the voice coil and same glue on cold spots like adhearing the surround to the cone ( dosen't make sense )
-my subs broke down and fell apart like pieces of paper because the glues came undone
-the pair hit loud but not realy loud and I have a rockford punch 360a2 running the pair

I had to sell these subs about 2 months ago and I don't miss them at all. I just bought a 93 eagle talon and the 2 12" jl's took up too much room so I bought a 10" rockford HX2 in a sealed box and I'm running it off of the same punch 360a2 at 2 ohms and it is way lounder than my 2 12's were and it's a lot tighter and cleaner sounding. As for the JL's for the price I paid they're a nice speaker for the price. They did hit some nice lows and a good for gangstar bass music or hard rock but anything else and they sound realy sloppy and harmonically distor, almost sounds like they get confused. For the price and if you want people to hear you coming they are a good sub to put in a hatch ( I had mine in a 1989 mostang 5.0 ) because they pound realy hard at high volumes but lower easy listening they suck and if you deck lets you then I'd turn them off.

Strength:

Everything.

Weakness:

Nothign so far, I think i can feed them more power. I only have a Zapco Ag200 (230 watts RMS) goign to both 8ohm JL's in a 4ohm configuration.

Damn, these are the best subs i have ever purchased. I heard my friends 2 12" Clarion and they go low, but they dont have the output for the same wattage of amp. I also heard my freinds 2 12" RF run off a RF 360a2, and it was loud but not that great.

I give them 11/10 for the money i paid. ($333 CDN with sealed 3cub box)

Strength:

Excellent sub for the price, takes much more power than rated, hits hard.

Weakness:

Can be a little sloppy and slow on some types of music.

Very good sub for the price. Has great spl, even on a few watts. My friend is running these and they pound, getting 150rms a piece and loving it. He had them hooked to a little Pioneer amp, giving each sub 70 rms and they were still loud. These things will take much more than rated. JL runs pink noise for 8 hours to find power handling, then subtracts 50 and divides by 2 from the highest wattage they survived. (125x2)+50=300 That means these things took at least 300 rms for 8 hours before failure. Most people I have talked to recommend about 200rms a sub. I'd say that sounds about right.
Their only weakness is dumb people and sq fanatics. These subs sound great to 80% of the people out there, but when you start getting really picky they have flaws. Most will never notice. Also, I have heard lots of people claiming "they're crap", "they don't take any watts", and "they blow to easy". Almost all these people are running some amp with the gains maxed killing the sub. Distortion kills speakers, and idiots cause distortion. I ran an Optimus 10 for a year in my truck with almost twice the rated power going into it. Survived fine, cause it was clean power, and the gains were kept fairly low.

Strength:

Amazing output, nice extension. Can keep up with fast paced beats and slow jams. I thought jl was overrate before, now they are underrated!

Weakness:

You need a strong amp to control them.

I bought two in a box for 344.00canadian. which is a extremely good value. The subs need a good amp to control them at high output. I would recommend these to anyone in the market for a sub I know the w6's are really good but for the dollar value the wo series blows them away. I use am using an orion amp doing about 400w.

Strength:

Tight Bass, Sound Quality

Weakness:

None

I have one JL 12W0-4 in a ported box in the back of my little Pulsar running in bridged mode off a little 2x100W amp. It's getting fed about 160W and loving every bit of it. As far as impact goes, depending on the song, i can get the windscreen wipers shaking visibly as well as the rear vision mirror, back seats, front seats etc. Value for money, this is the best sub i reckon you can get. It really Rocks. Everyone looks at me and i reckon i make about as much bass as my friends with two sony 12" subs. Can't buy better for the price.
