strong bass no distortion make neighbors angry while testing subs at 10pm

(note: i bought these subs for $300 witha sealed power wedge box) i bought these off of a friend thinkin they would thump pretty well. boy, was i in for a shock. these are the best subs i have ever heard in all the cars i have looked at. i have a sony xplod 225wattx2 running the 2 12"s. with the x-over adjusted just right, the bass is loud and hurts your ears outside of the car as well as inside. i have a pioneer deh-p5200 head unit and i can adjust these babies without going anywhere. the bass is clean and never, never distorts, no matter how loud i turn it up. when i finish my system i plan to enter amateur audio competitions. email me if you have any questions....dont waste your money on any other subs, if your spending money on subs, spend the little extra to get a whole heck of a lot more.

They hit harder then crap- I had 2 rockford punches and now I got the JL w0s and they just hit so much harder then the punches they also beat a lot harder then pretty much every single sub out there, they got great excursion

I still havent found any weaknesses from them

I paid $180 for the pair-there great I recommend them to anyone who askes me I just love um they hit the hardest. I only have a crossfire 142 and the w0s and they just hit harder then crap and thats not even close to being close to there max

High Output, When using a low powered amp or moderately powered amp. Very accurate and reasonably priced.

Don't always handle too much power properly. The Surround isn't very high quality, but has always held up for me. It would be a little more reassuring for a first time buyer to see a rubber surround.

These subs have awesome output even with a low powered amp. I have 3 JL 12 W0's powered by a (Kenwood 729s 600 watt max for $199.00) It supplies enough power to hit 148 db. There are only a few other brands out there that can hit as hard and accurate as Jl's do with a resonable priced amplifier.

I paid 150 for the jl 12w0 and a 120 rms watt kenwood sub amp.In a tightly sealed small box nothing can match the sound.

xtant 10" JL sounds better

hits real hard with only a decent amount of power, great spl sub, hits low, and they are very versitile with about any kind of eclosure. bandpass, sealed, ported, etc.

under an uncommon frequency the subs tend to bottom out or recieve cancellation but this is hardly ever, they could have made them better. i.e- the terminal clips

these subs are the best on the market for the price. they are highly reccomended for newcomers to the car audio game, who cant afford eclipse or solo barics right now. they are not "power hungry". you dont need a punch amp to make them sound good. the power rating is VERY underrated. they can take just about all the punishment you can give them. i have a rockford fosgate 8230 cd head unit with jbl highs and sony explod mids equipt with 600 watt kenwood 2 channel amp pushing my 2 12's in a sealed box in the TRUNK of my 1990 chevy lumina euro. you dont need a hatchback car to sound off. i've had people tell me that they can hear me coming over a half of a mile away. so i had my friend drive my car while i listened to make sure they werent just making me feel good. they were speaking the truth. but dont listen to me go listen to some and i guarantee you will purchase a couple

if i had to compare i would think they are almost in the same class a rockford fosgate 12, but the JL sounds more clear and precise. the will stomp anything like poineer, crunch, sony explod, jbl, and kenwood into the ground. the only 12" sub that sounded better for real to me was an infinity kappa or perfect.

Very loud and you don't need a very big amp. Before I got these
two 12's I had ONE 10WO in a prowedge box in my pickup and people
mistaked it for two 12's

The best subs i have experience strong clean bass, ideal for rap
and techno bass. like I said above people mistaked my one 10 inch for
two 12s, incrediable quality and long lasting if you know what your
doing. once you use JL you probably won't switch brands. also there
affordable if you buy other from cartunes or Mickyshore.

Hits hard, hits loud, hits low. Very efficient, sounds good in a small or large box or anything in between. Good mix of SQ/SPL.

I bought these two JL 12W0's in June of 1998. Haven't touched them since, they run superb and still look and sound as if they were brand new. I have heard no deterioration of sound quality or SPL through the years. I have a Phoenix Gold ZX200 pushing these. The subs are 8 ohms subs and are bridged down to 4 ohms on my amp. So each are getting around 140 watts RMS a piece. I would highly recommend these, especially for beginners. I'll be getting W3's or maybe a W7 or two (when those come out).

These subs are unreal they sound great and pound hard as hell. All subwoofers are loud but JL's also sound great. If your looking for an awesome sub for not too mush cash these are your subs.

Amazing power

Not one

I have had three mtx 5000's and three pioneer premier 12's. I am running them off of an MTX 225HO. ITs quite a strong amp. These jl w0 are amazing. They blow away those other two subs. I am running three 4 ohm subs at a 1 ohm stable load. It is amazing. I dont think it can get any louder with only three subs. I have had 8 subs before off two of those 225ho's and these three are louder. Dang good speaker
