Performance per dollar spent this was an EXCELLENT VALUE!!!!!!
Weakness:
Has the tendency to give you the IMPRESSION that the car is SHAKING at higher volume levels!! Again the build quality for the money is a great buy I got a package deal, speakers,amp,head unit,and sub,and installation.THere were numerous ways to configure these sub's [mine are sealed box design]I have 2.They do get low it really was the final touch to my system.For what they do how could you go wrong?My dealer said you would have to spend 200 more to hear an improvement,beside's how much more improvement can you get on bottom below 80 hz anyway?Buy these,they really rock!!!! None I have the JL 10W6 in a JL Stealthbox in my Trans Am and it sounds quite impressive for only 1 10" woofer. I'm powering it with a PPI 2x50W amp and it is more than enough power to produce crisp hard hitting bass. So far this is one of the best subwoofers I've heard. Similar Products Used: Bazooka 10" Bass Tube - took alot less power, but didn't sound nearly as good. |

Great speakers. Very loud, small box, high power handling.
Weakness:
Cost is high. Foam surround degrades over the years. Paid $190/ea. Have a pair (series parallel, for 3 ohm load) in the trunk running off a Kicker 500ss that was rated at the factory (By kicker) to push 1069watts. The speakers handle it very well. Small sealed boxes on either side of the trunk angled slightly up and forward. Similar Products Used: Cerwin Vega 12, MTX Blue Thunder 10, Fosgate punch 10. I would buy the JL's over any of the others. The punch 10's would bottom out at high power, the MTX blue thunder was terrible, the cerwin vega was good, but not as loud. |

awesome sub, hands down, sq/spl driver all wraped up into one driver, i have 3 10w6 powered buy a ppi pc2400, and it hammers, small enclousure requirements makes just much better, do yourself a favor and buy these subs, do the math in iasca comp, over 50% if the competition, so does that tell you anything.
Weakness:
nothing, a lot of people grip about the foam surround, but the reason why they use the foam is to keep the bass more accurate, rubber surrounds give the sub a elatisity effect, and the cone can't flow naturally, resulting inaccurate bass, these other companies putting out these drivers with 1 3/4" is a bunch, yeah xmax is cool but you can have to much. I paid 510 for 3 10w6 here at the local shop, which is an excellent price for the the quality you are getting, And yes i would recommend these woofers to anyone. I own 3 and they hit really hard, best value for the money, and they look great.
Weakness:
foam surrounds I got these for my birthday, they have held up to me pumpin 600 watts plus into each one. Similar Products Used: kicker competitions, jl sounds much better. |

Great sounding bass for the price. The w6 series of JL's line of subs offer the hardest hitting and best response. Sounds best in small tight enclosures

Great bottom end for low bass notes (drops low as some 15's I've heard) Outstanding low to mid bass
Weakness:
Draws a great deal of current for high output. I have a Soundsteam 10.2 powering a pair of these subs. From Hip Hop to R&B to Jazz and even Rock ROCKS!! I took a 1st place trophy in a IASCA event this past April in Texas in the 151-300 Watt Class SQL. I scored 130db with my system 3/4 of the way up. The best sub for the space and the money. I have a pair inside a ported enclosure in my trunk, I still have 1/2 of my trunk for cargo. Similar Products Used: JBL T120 Competition 12s |

You might find much of anything under $300 that is superior to it. It goes pretty deep for a 10 and does an excellent job at sound quality. It is most definitely a tried and true woofer. |

This is an excellent subwoofer for car audio use. I have 3 of them run by a Rockford Fosgate 360.6 amp. Each sub get more than 120 watts. The bass is extremely low, and without anysign of distortion. This is a great sub for all types of music |
