Strength:

Great low frequency extension, Awesome sound quality, great price, good quality

Weakness:

Not the loudest sub on the block

These subs are the best you can get for the money. They are in the 100-200 range for the 10s and 12s. Some people don't like them as they are a quality rather than loudness based speaker. I have heard IDQs used in an SPL (loudness) competition and yes they do pound. They have very deep bass. The 10s can hit an 25hz note quite well. The only thing I recommend more than IDQs are Crystal CMPs, but many people do not want to spend the 300 dollars for a louder speaker that retains quality.

Strength:

Cleanest sub I've owned. Put out lots of clean, tight bass, even lows, even though, they are only 10 inchers with only 100 watts per voice coil.

Weakness:

absolutely nothing I don't like.

Unbelievably reliable- we've thrown more than 500 watts at an IDQ12 and it sounded better than ever, it was only rated for 250w. After trying multiple sub set-ups in my competition system, I finally found one that hits hard, while running perfectly clean and musical. I wouldn't trade my 10's for anything.

Strength:

These subwoofers are strong thoughout the bandwith...as they produce more than enough bass at 80 to 120 hz, as below 70 hz, they still sound stong. Keep in mind that about a .75 to 1.0 cubic foot box is needed to produce great sound. I power them with my Nakamichi amps...with are VERY strong. They rattle my eardrums and the gain on the amps are only 1/4 way turned up! GREAT SUBS

Weakness:

There is no weakness to these subs. Oh, and whoever would try to compare these to ANY other woofer is ubsurd! No competition anywhere!

Not gonna say what I paid b/c I got sponsored...I would recommend these woofers to anyone who wanted a strong low end accompanied with good sq!

no comparable product on the market right now...bring it on JL or rockford!

Strength:

Plays Very Low.
Very Durable.
Incredibly Inexpensive.
Deafeningly loud if fed the power.
Tight, Fast response.

Weakness:

The appearance is somewhat bland, however the '00 models have color logo which helps.
Other than that, none.

What can I say? The IDQ is incredible. I have 2 12" single voice coil models and cannot be more satisfied. The woofers are sealed in 1.1 cubic feet each in the back of my '99 Grand Am. These things play low and loud. I'm feeding each one 300 watts, and they absolutely blow away every other woofer I've had in every way (even tho I was sending my thunder 7000 12's more power). Trust me when I say the IDQ is a very loud speaker. They also sound great in small sealed enclosures(I reccomend 1.1-1.3 cubic feet), a big plus for the people who like to retain lots of cargo space. But perhaps its strongest point is the accuracy and clarity with which it reproduces low frequenices. These subs definitely have a place in any car, wether you just want to add a little low end for sound quality, or you want enough bass to make your eardrums explode. Check these out before you ever buy another sub.

I paid 130 each for mine from an online dealer. They can't be beat for the price.

Strength:

Everything.

Weakness:

I love them.

I have two 12" DVC IDQs. Each is in a 1ft^3 sealed box being fed 300 clean watts.

I listen to heavy metal, so accuracy was a must...man did I get it! They hit hard, quick, and they also hit low. I have also listened to rap/hip-hop etc. just to see how they perform. Awesome is the only word that comes to mind. No matter what your musical preference, the IDQs will handle the job admirably.

I paid $110 each for them from a guy on Ebay. They are worth every penny!!! After hearing them, I'd be willing to pay more.

Strength:

the only thing i liked about this subwoofer was the price and the looks.its a good looking sub.but thats all its strength i could find.everyone told me how good this subs are.so i went and bought some.i hate them.i still have them in my closet in there boxes like new but all my friends dont even want them after the heard them.

Weakness:

not much power handeling.dont hit hard.the bass is not clean.not that i could make them distort.it just not a clean woofer.

i paid about $98 a piece with tax.i would not recomend this to anyone.my system is all set up buy a pro installer a the stereo shop.(not me)i am runnig the amps a 31 band eq and electronic crossovers.i ran the subs in a .65 cft box each build by the shop and had them tune the eq and crossover to the subs and they sucked.now i am running the same system but with 2 MTX bluethnder subs and that rocks.

Strength:

Well made, handles rated power easily. Goes reasonably low in a small box, excellent price/performance.

Weakness:

Bass is "slow" It doesn't render natural instruments like plucked string bass realistically- they sound thick and heavy, even after careful equalization of the system. On rock and techno, it is amazingly strong.

I built a single IDQ-12 4-ohm single voicecoil in a 1.33 cu ft box with about 50% stuffing and a single Dynaudio "Variovent" flow resistance port, for listening mostly to jazz and classical. I estimate the effective system Q is around 0.7. Measured response with shaped tonebursts in my Volvo wagon shows smooth response, dropping off steeply below 30-35 Hz. It can put out 120dB steady, driven by 300-W (1 bridged Phoenix XS2300)with no strain. I'm using Tara Labs- Quantum II speaker cable and Neutrik Speakon connectors. That's pretty decent performance, from a very small box.

So, 5-stars for value-- woofer was $99 for the bare driver(refurbished, soundhabits.com). Four stars overall based on the fact the bass is sluggish, compared to the Alumapro. (The Alusonic 12 is a great value for $135 for the bare driver.)

Audio Concepts 12 (much deeper), Alumapro Alusonic 12 (much more natural sounding). I am switching to the Alumapro, permanently.

Strength:

deep deep bass, nice hard hitting and can play any type of music in a small encloser and love the uni-surround.

Weakness:

none so far even worked after my parents stacked them on top of each other and it didn't even stretch out the rubber or cone.

Damn these things can hit hard and deep. For the money and the sq they just kick ass. RF and JL got nothing on these babies. Also the new IDQ MAX is even sicker those can tear cars apart(no not actually) they rock.

Similar Products Used:

listen to them all and IDQ has got my vote they are the New World Order in sound.
