Frontier SE Crew Cab V6
Strength:
Fantastic appearance, great handling and ride, perfect when you don't need a full size truck or SUV but still need a little of both. Very compfortable and functional. Excellent detail and quality obvious. Four doors great for camping, going out with friends, etc.
Weakness:
Underpowered, though you will never even notice it unless you drive like a speed-demon. Stereo system a tad bit underpowered, but not bad at all for a typical truck sound. I haven't had any mechanical problems whatsoever. I would highly recommend this vehicle to everyone, and have! Great truck for modern day suburbanites. Not recommended if you haul large objects often, but great for everyday, common use. I would recommmend the roof rack and step bars for a great, "turn-heads" look, and the Nissan rubber floor mats and bedliner for protection. The bed extender helps for really large loads, but I don't use it that much. I can't count how many compliments I've gotten on this truck from perfect strangers, and it is completely stock! The quality is excellent, and I feel like it is underpriced. Drive one for about a week and you will see what I mean! Similar Products Used: Ranger, Blazer, S-10: Frontier is seemingly not as powerful, but very, very much more quality oriented and more flashy. It's just more fun! |

This truck is a definite eye turner. styling and over all performance. This is a great light duty truck.
Weakness:
Plain interior. Gas milage is not the greatest but I am hoping it only gets better I repeat this is a great light duty truck. Do not buy if you need to do heavy towing or work. This truck is going to appel to people between the age of 21 to 30. I would definitly recommend this truk to anyone. Similar Products Used: Sport trac,Tacoma, |

Frontier 4X4 SE V6 Desert Runner
Strength:
Smooth rides, great suspensions. I have the 1998 Infiniti QX4, it is almost as smooth compare to many luxurious SUV. I did my homework and found that this is the best 4X4 pick up in its class. Not too slow and not too fast. My father has a Toyota Tacoma 4X4 V6 and Nissan is a much better pick up, my point of view. But the Toyota has more power though.
Weakness:
Too much gas. I recommend this truck if you are not doing too much moving or hulling. Similar Products Used: Toyota Tacoma V6 4X4. |

XE-V6 KingCab 4x4
Strength:
The list of things I like is getting smaller and smaller the more I drive this truck. The depth of the truck bed is one thing I really do like, the Toyota is much shallower.
Weakness:
I bought this truck after the S-10 because I had such great luck with the first Nissan SE-V6 KingCab 4x4. Just about everything in the truck is cheaper than the first Nissan and the only real difference between the two is the 8 years and a revised interior. The 4x4 system is antiquated for a ’95. The interior has no cup holder of any kind. The back side windows whistle with wind noise. If you open the driver’s door window at highway speed they get sucked so far out you can’t roll the window back up. The stud bolts that hold the exhaust manifold have broken at 72,000 miles and cost more than $500 to fix and it is just a matter of time before they break on the other side of the V6. The gas mileage has never been all that great. The vehicle has a nagging vibration at highway speed that can’t seem to be located and if the passenger seat is empty the wiggling of the seat drives me crazy. The speedometer had to be replaced at 31,000 because it broke. The idler pulley for one of the V-belts has been replaced once and is going to need replacing again by the sounds of it. This is entirely due to cheap parts and the cost of the pulley is over $70 at the Dealer. The overall feeling is they took a great truck - the 1986.5 Hardbody and just kept making it cheaper and cheaper over the years. The Frontier would need to be a whole lot better than the 1995 model to get a recommendation from me. Overall it's a thousand times better than the S-10 but I'm thinking the Toyota is probably better than the Nissan. This will be my last Nissan! Dealing with the dealer and Nissan itself, has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I am selling it to buy a Toyota Tacoma. Similar Products Used: The best truck I have ever owned was a 1986.5 SE-V6 King Cab 4x4. My Dad bought new and I bought from him at 80,000 miles and I sold it at 175,000 miles and the last time I saw it the odometer indicated 248,000 miles. GREAT TRUCK! The worst truck was the 1994 Chevy S-10 Extended Cab 4x4 with the 4.3 V6. Bought new and had to get rid of at 36,000 miles because it was always being repaired or leaving me stranded at the side of the road. The big V6 was gutless and sounded cheap. The ABS system was eventually part of a huge GM recall but I owned it before the recall, and it was a scary truck! |

Reasonably reliable truck, was great in High School. Looked good and did good in the mud. Have driven the truck since 94 when my father gave it to me. Goes good in snow and rough driving. Has been a good truck.
Weakness:
After a couple of years it becomes unreliable. the suspension has always creaked really bad. Dashboard and arm rests have cracked. The heads on this truck seem bad. Have had them crack twice. The Door locks in this model are not that good. Real easy target for theifs. Overall its a good truck and would recommend it. I will never sell mine because everybody needs a good little truck. whether it be to get around in the snow or to haul something. Im about to graduate and have to travel so I am looking for a Big Luxury car. Oh well the truck is a good one and would recommend it. its just like every other car out there. after to many years the start to rust and malfunction. Similar Products Used: None |

XE Regular Cab
Strength:
It has pretty good power for a 4 cylinder. I've towed a jet ski several times and it handled it well. I purchased it for the price and it hasn't given me any problems yet.
Weakness:
It has about 22,000 miles on it and it hasn't had any problems. There was a recall on the AC bracket but that was the only time it has been at the dealer besides oil changes. I would definately recommend this truck to anyone who wants a compact truck. It's more like a car with a lot of cargo space. If I could go back, I would have gotten the extended cab. The big factor is that it hasn't had any mechanical problems at all. This was a relief because my Pontiac Grand-Am has had every problem except the engine and transmission (power windows, alternator, water pump, bushings, steering). Similar Products Used: This was my first truck so I can't compare it to any other trucks. |

Frontier King Cab XE
Strength:
Low Price... Best value in small trucks; Good Gas Mileage... the 4 cyl. engine has power similar to the Ford Ranger V-6 with better mileage.... and with no pinging; Bed Extender... It really helps out on some of the longer items I've moved so far.
Weakness:
So far, not very much. The dealer sold me an aftermarket bug deflector that was cheap crap. The old style parking brake is "quaint". Access to the rear "seats" is adequate. I love my Frontier.... If you want an economy truck for light hauling and much driving, give it a chance. Similar Products Used: I drove my old 99 Ford Ranger King Cab 4x4 56,000 miles in 2 years... used the 4x4 getting out a friends driveway a half dozen times... went to the Nissan saving much money on gas and the purchase price. I drive a majority of my miles on the freeway and it's quieter and a better riding vehicle. |

Nissan Frontier 4 X 2
Strength:
Great body style, affordable pricing, strong factory audio sytem
Weakness:
Low torque, can't tow or haul very much weight. I bought the 2001 Nissan Frontier about 5 weeks ago. The dealers service department has had it 3.5 of the 5 weeks. They have replaced the torque converter, speedometer gear and as for now they are troubleshooting a new problem. The truck started jerking, then it started overheating. I believe this is not the best choice if your deciding on it as a new vehicle. The Nissan Dealer has no idea what is wrong or also causing the problem. They were working with the Nissan factory to fix the problem but the factory has no idea how to fix it. Similar Products Used: N/A |
