Strength:
Good work truck, strong motor, never broken down
Weakness:
Little harsh on fuel Under Cdn.$10,000 used. The truck takes a heavy pay load which is excellent for a half tonne. Overall handling of the truck is great, good power. Truck is great for anyone in the construction trades. It is reliable. The brakes wore quick and have had to repair them twice. Similar Products Used: 1997 Ford F-150 |

Strength:
The power of the 5.3 is unbelievable as well as the smooth ride. This truck is comfortable enough to drive across the country. The fit and finish is excellent.
Weakness:
price (maybe) Would buy anything else. I paid 24,105 with extended warranty. Truck is a full loaded extended cab. What else is there to say? I pull a 20' boat to area lakes, some up to 160 miles away and get 14 mpg. towing at 70-75 mph. Without the boat I get 19-20mpg on the highway and 16-17mpg in town. My dad liked my truck so much that he bought a duplicate of mine. We now have 3 GMC pick-ups in our family and a 99 Tahoe. Total milage of the 4 vehicles is about 70,000 miles and none have ever been in for service. Similar Products Used: N/A |

Great truck. A smooth riding but ruged workhorse. I love this truck. Never broken down. Keeps going. No major repairs. Smoother than a Ford and will outlast a Dodge (which I've had before). I would definitely get another. |

GMC Sierra Z71
Strength:
Powerfully smooth engine, luxurious interior, very attractive exterior lines (redesigned for 99), has the only auto 4wd system in any truck, and is at home on a fire road, beach party, grocery store or formal dinner party.
Weakness:
typical first year model squeeks and glitches, all fixed under warranty. 2000 Model has done away with most of these. Nearing the 1-year anniversary with the most costly vehicle I have ever owned has made me reflect on my decision to make such a big purchase. I don't regret it at all. I've enjoyed the long trips, short hops to the market, off-road adventures in rain/mud/snow on the mountainous terrain throughout my farm, and hauling firewood, trailers, cars, motorcycles with not a single problem. I've put lots of performance accessories on my truck, including a dual exhaust, K&N air filter, and a hypertech power programmer, which allows me to alter the computer settings such as top speed and shift points. These things made a great truck even better. I'll probably own this truck for at least 10 years. Highly recommended, Highly praised. |

Strength:
Smooth ride, comfortable interior, The power makes the truck really fun to drive.
Weakness:
Noise from the rear drivers side vent window. I think this has been fixed, we will see when it gets hot out. Vibration between 35-45 mph, my only choice for a dealer is ignoring the problem. It has taken all of the fun out of owning/driving a new truck.I had problems with the dealer I purchased the truck from and the dealer that did my service work. I don't know what to do about getting good service. This is my first GM product in 15 years and their customer service does not compair to FORD. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase (10,000 miles). The truck looks nice, rides nice and is fun to drive. Similar Products Used: Ford f150, ford ranger. I would like the GMC better if I could get excellent customer service. |

Weakness:
everything... be careful ummm... im 15 so ya... i take it through a lot. but its done good for what i've done to it! and i've taken it off of a 8 ft motorcycle tabletop goin 85 mph.... the only things wrong with it is the leaks, power stearing, alternator, and starter, and those only have little minor problems that arn't nothin..... Similar Products Used: older gmc.... not as much power... but still rips it up in a drag at the light down town! |

Sierra SLE Ext cab 5.3
Strength:
Looks, great fit and finish, excellent perfomance from the 5.3 liter, smoothest riding , overall an excellent pickup
Weakness:
NONE!!!! This is my first expirience with a truck and I can safely say I have no complaints. There in ample power for passing and towing or just blowing off steam. No problems have arisen and hope that none do but as a loyal GM customer I am quite confident of its reliability. They did a great job with this redesign. There is plenty of room (as far as extended cabs go) for 3 rear seat passengers. What a great product. I would highly recommend this truck. Similar Products Used: N/A |

Sierra 1500 Quad Cab
Strength:
Looks good. Rides and handles like a nice car. Very comfortable interior. Quad cab has a lot of rear seat leg room.
Weakness:
Low ground clearance, this is a city boys truck, all is great on smoth flat hard surfaces...however in the pasture I drag the ground in this truck where I have never drug ANYTHING before. I feel that the longer wheel base of the quad cab should justify higher ground clearance. I have the 2 wheel drive version, maybe the 4 wheel has more clearance however at a price. CITY BOYS TRUCK. On the highway or around town it is a wonderful vehical. Out in the pastures or on really rough roads put it in park and take your 4 wheeler or horse or plan to do a lot of maintance on your pasture roads to keep them smooth enough. If I had the purchase to do over again ~ I would consider 4X4 the higher the better and a true 4 door. Maybe the 2500HD 4X4 4 door, however the cost just went thousands!!! Similar Products Used: I have been driving pickups for 25 years either Dodge or General Motors, this one rides and turns the best and has the LEAST ground clearance of them all. |
