RANGER
Strength:
hmmm...
Weakness:
Unreliable, poor gas mileage, no power for a V6, EXTREMLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Quality job 1? Bought the truck new in ''99 and it has been to the dealer at least a dozen times for various problems; from recall items to suspensions problems, power window issues (that were never resolved)and now the truck sits in a hotel parking lot waiting to get towed to dealership because the automatic transmission won''t shift. Capistrano ford 5-Star service is awful, 1/2 star at best. Similar Products Used: chevy S-10, nissan pathfinder 4x4 |

Strength:
Lower end power High Torque Versatility

Top End No Power Steering I LOVE MY TRUCK! I know what people say, why get a 2wd 4 cyl. I''ll tell you why. When they say "Built Ford Tough", it ain''t no lie. I had an 89 ranger I took out with all my 4wd buddies and went eveywhere they did. Even a couple climbs they didn''t. Well, I now own a 94 2wd 4 cyl. I love it too. I take it off-roading all the time and I have only been stuck twice. Once: Framed out in a mud hole...can''t really help that. Second: Bogged down in the 15'' area of a 20'' sand pit.(Length) Not only does it perform all of it''s off road duties but street as well. I actually out ran an acura on the highway. I soon plan to add on intake and exhaust mods when I find the perfect one for my truck. Any sugestions will be much appreciated. Later! Similar Products Used: None |

none Easy put-Looks great, runs great,is a great pickup. Looks awesome for a 92 and everywhere i go people say how nice it is. When i went to get my oil changed the guy was speechless he said every thing under the hood looked perfect. It is nicer looking than a chevy s10 and is a little bigger. ITS SIMPLY A GREAT TRUCK! Strength:
Looks. On the fly 4 wheel drive. The bumber is actually steel not fiberglass
Weakness:
none so far...maybe gas milage in the city...but I had a 4 cyclinder sub-compact before buying this. The gas milage I had in the car spoiled me The first time I walked past this truck on the lot at the dealership, I knew I had to have it. It is big, but not too big. The color is really nice as well (Island Blue) Similar Products Used: This is my first truck. I think I will continue to buy trucks from now on. |

Strength:
POWERFUL, good on gas, fast when i need it to be.
Weakness:
IT'S NOT A CHEVY! IT'S A V6, IT'S 2 WHEEL DRIVE I bought this truck from a private seller and I love this truck. It has the 3.0 engine with the five speed manual transmission. This truck is tough, everything i have thrown its way it has always held up. I would reccomend this truck to anybody. Similar Products Used: this is my first vehicle |

Weakness:
poor gas milage, low power, The door adjar light stays on all the time. dome light stays on all the time, and door chimes. It a pain to pulling the fuse out to get the dome light and the door chime to turn off. The fuse has to be put back in every time because the turn lights use the same fuse, and it wont shift right with out it eather. Similar Products Used: my 99 s10 much better trk. |

extended cab
Strength:
Smooth quiet ride.
Weakness:
Lazy 4 cylinder engines (dohc would really help here). Good truck, but not great. I am sure that those with the V6 models are much happier. If you get the extended cab go for the six cylinder. The third door is very usefull. I can't say anything really bad about the Ford Ranger, it is a good truck, but four cylinder imported trucks have a much stronger engine. The ride is much better than the Tacoma when it comes to long trips and the interior ergonomics are more rounded and organically shaped (pre 2000 model Toyota's have a basic square interior). I like the Nissan & Toyota models much better, but the Ranger has inexpensive maintenance and you can find a Ford dealer anywhere. Ford has come a long way with the Ranger and it is much better now than ever. Similar Products Used: Toyota Tacoma (harsh ride, but a better truck overall) |
