F-350 EXT.CAB DUALLY 4X4 DIESEL 7-3 TURBO
Strength:
VERY POWERFUL, LOTS OF ROOM, I REALLY LIKE THIS TRUCK, I OWN MY OWN BUSS. AND IT WORKS OUT GREAT TO HAUL THE EQUIP. IT GET BOUT 15-17 MPG AND BOUT 400-450 GPT, THE MIRRORS ARE REALLY NICE AND THE HAVE THE BLIND SPOT MIRROR ON THE BOTTOM OF IT FROM THE FACTORY
Weakness:
THE 4X4 JUMPS ALOT WHEN YOU MAKE THE SMALLEST TURN, THE 7-3 TURBO IS GOING THROUGH ABOUT A GALLON OF OIL IN 5,OOO MILES BUT FORD IS GOING TO LOOK AT IT FOR ME, THE FRONT END HAS TOO MUCH TOW-IN ON IT AND IT WILL BURN THE TIRES OFF OF IT THIS IS A VERY COMFORTABLE TRUCK, I HAVE THE ENT. CAB AND IT HAS ALT OF ROOM. I HAVE TWO KIDS AND ONE ON THE WAY AND THEY WILL FIT GREAT IN THE BACK SEAT. I'VE DROVE IT 1,180 MILES IN 15 HRS FROM FLORIDA STRIGHT THROUGH AND MY BACK NEVER GOT SORE. I REALLY ENJOY DRIVING IT Similar Products Used: I TRADED IN A F-150 LARIET WHICH I REALLY LIKED ALSO |

F350
Strength:
It has size, and good engine reving power. But sometimes i think the damn thing is gonna blow! The interior is sufficient, and the bed provides plenty of room, to put my pigs
Weakness:
The engine sux, it has a lack of power in the lowend. I have gotten it stuck in 4wheel low, in first gear, with 35x12.5 BFGoodriches, in a gravel pit. The engine revs so high, that im on my second engine, the first blew at 20,000. The whole truck just blows chunks.Henry Ford can suck a fart out of my ass!!!!! This truck has no power for what i need to do, when an older chevy with more miles would out perform. I will never buy a ford again, mainly because it sucks, but also dealin with the bastard guys down at ford dealership, tryin to get the damn thing fixed. Similar Products Used: I have always driven a chevy, what was i thinkin when I bought a ford. The 96 Chevy 3500 with the 454 has way more balls, and more reliable, and the engine never blew, you could actually call the engine an engine. what was i thinkin'. If u ask me i say, "Chevy Baby"!!!! |

Strength:
Lots of room. Great towing capabilities. Rides great. All accessories work great. The Automatic 4sp tranny shifts well. The 4x4 shift on the fly is great. The visibility from the cab is excellent. I love this truck.
Weakness:
The turning radius. But then you have to expect that with a long wheelbase. Other than that I have found no weaknesses. I bought this truck several months ago. I have had other trucks but none seem as nice as this. Ford has come a long way. I would reccomend this truck to anyone. I added qutie a few options such as the 6 disc CD and backup sensing system. Similar Products Used: Test drove Chevy and Dodge I prefer the ammenities of the Ford. The powerstroke Diesel is a fantastic engine. |

Power!! need I say more? Room, comfort, ahhh heated seats, sweet!, accelaration is great i've read reviews where the SD F-250 could do 0-60 in 7.2 sec, I have my doubts on that one but it comes close
Weakness:
Guess I have to be honest and mention the gas milage the trip comp. is saying 11.5 mpg with 627 miles on the engine, but my '97 F-150 off road with the 4.6 only gets like 15 so i'm not that dissapointed. Oh yea when you open the door after a rain it drips a little water on the seat which isn't that big of a deal i'm just really picky Great truck no complaint the looks are intimadating compared to the new chevy HD's. Excellent sales sfaff at Akins. I ordered my truck and they let me go in the back where all the ordering is done and sit down with the guy doing the ordering and he named off all the options and let me choose what i wanted. took like 45 mins but he was very nice about it. Similar Products Used: no comparison to the 97 150. Just my opinion, but i've been hearing a lot about the new chevy HD's something about a duramax and allison tranny. true these new products might make a stronger truck but what would you expect i mean something that has been used for years by big rigs and stuff, but if you're interested in those new prouducts i would expect to pay big $$ for them |

the truck looks great, Tows great, limited slip differential, The feeling you get driving this big truck around.
Weakness:
I bought the truck on a friday night, I was supposed to pick it up saturday morning. I showed up saturday morning my truck was nowhere to be found after about an hour of searching we found it back at the storage lot behind about 30 trucks. I waited another 2 hours for the truck by the time they pulled it out and prepped it. Fine whatever I wasn't happy. As soon as I got on the Highway It started making a clicking sound coming from the left front end, the faster i went the faster the ticking sound. I drove back to the dealer that night, showed it to the salesman and the manager, salesman went for a drive. He also noticed the sound after about finishing my gas he had it floored most of the time. We went back to the dealer and after they examined the truck in their suites and ties said it is not a safety concern it will go away with time the truck has to settle. 3500 miles later the truck was still ticking and clicking and knocking whatever you want to call it. They say the truck is fine I didn't get a new truck to worry about sounds and noises. I bought the stupid Extended warranty just so they can tell me nothing is wrong with the truck sincce they won't bother fixing it. I lifted the truck 8 inches and is now sitting on 35X16X16.5 Super swamper boggers on 16.5 X 12 weld wheels. By they way the truck still tics and clicks and now has about 4900 miles. I had the front driveshaft extended, balnced and checked and the sounds have calmed down. The tranny shifts kind of weird sometimes kind of scary. I like my truck but if starts to act up again I'm taking it back and ford is going to have problems, At least Auto Nation Never Buy from them again. 0 f250 4x4 crew cab
Strength:
roomy interior; tows anything no problem; good ground clearance; good looking truck
Weakness:
poor gas mileage (never got better than 11), although it gets same mileage empty or pulling 5000 lbs, so I guess I can't complain; have to park in the farthest spots because you need 2; have had some dashboard electrical probs. Overall, I would say I like the truck. It pulls large trailers no problem, where my 1/2 ton would always "kick down" into 2nd gear. Very roomy interior. Compared to my f150, it rides like a tank, but I guess that's one of the trade-off's of the larger truck. The ignition switch sticks and the speedo goes off when you put on the turn signal, but other than that, no mechanical probs. Crew cab is great when traveling with more than 2 people. Drove the new Chevy "heavy duty" to compare....no comparison. The Ford feels alot more like a truck. Also think you get more truck for the money. Similar Products Used: 2000 f150 off road - pulls alot easier but gets worse mileage even though they both have same engine (5.4 Triton) |

F350 Short Bed Lariet PS Diesel
Strength:
Diesel has terrific fuel economy. 8000 lbs and gets 19 on the highway. 12-13 towing. (If you go above 70 the fuel economy drops like a rock) Easy starting, quiet (for a diesel), and cery comfortable. My first american product and I like it.
Weakness:
Size. Change your parking habits. It's like parking a train. Terrible turning radius. I've currently got 45,000 on it. It serves it's purpose very well. Be prepared to change your own oil. These beasts take 15 qts. I've never had to use the glow plugs. It starts like a regular gas engine. The pulling power is incredible. I was pulling 10,000lbs, thought I might see what it could do. I was doing 90mph on the highway. (I know dumb, but my justification was I was alone on the highway) Similar Products Used: Dodge Diesel. Ford is quieter and more comfortable. |

Ford F-250 SD Crew Cab V10 4x4, automatic
Strength:
It has a lot of room in the interior. Also, has a lot of power, looks nice, comfortable, stands tall, great looks inside and out, and overall great truck. I have put 1600 miles on it so far and have had nothing go wrong, (yet that is).
Weakness:
The gas mileage totally sucks. I have to fill up about every 3 or 4 days if lucky. Mainly drive to work and to check livestock with. Doesn't shift right sometimes, depends on how long you let it idle and warm up. Let it set and idle for about 20-30 minutes it shift just fine, but if you go under then waiting to shift into that last gear takes awhile. The 4x4 kicks in hard sometimes when transferring over from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel. Always have a gas pump nearby, it drinks gas like it is free. I would reccommend it for power, looks, room on inside, comfortable. But it still just doesn't have what it takes. The gas mileage is terrible, I get like 9 - 11.5 miles to the gallon (depending on driving conditions), when it shifts gears sounds like something isn't right, 4x4 kicks in hard, when in 4x4 the gas mileage drops tremendously. If you like stopping by the gas pump often then this is the truck for you. Similar Products Used: Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 automatic wins hands down. I wish I would have stayed with Dodge and bought the Dodge diesel turbo engine, but I didn't. So that is my loss. |
