ford power! it rules!!

Weakness:

none

I bought my f-250 4x4 new in 86, I love this truck, it has the 460 in it, and yes the fuel mileage could be better, but the power this thig has is un real, it is in showroom condition and now hass 100k on it, I bought a f-250 turbo desiel in 93, and I love it also, it has 140k on it (just broke in) both of my trucks are garaged at night, but they come out and work hard every day!

Strength:

Very smooth tight ride, excellent performance, good economy.

Weakness:

Cant think of any with this truck, however for 2002 I believe Ford is not offering a 4.10 axle in the Powerstroke unless you get a dually. Not a problem for me as I have driven a dually for about 4 years now however know people who dont need or use a dually that bought 2002''s and had to get stuck with the 3.73 which in my opinion is not a good ratio for pulllinh heavy loads.

Recently traded my 2000 for this 2002. I am very pleased with this truck. We do a lot of towing and are very satisfied with the performance. My old 2000'' and this 02'' are the best trucks I have ever driven/owned.

Strength:

Gas milage, average 18 to 18.5 and loose maybe 1 mile to the gallon pulling trailers. does much better in high altitudes than the 93 did.The four doors are awsome. The price is much easier to swallow than chevy''s duramax.

Weakness:

Handling under heavy loads is terrible. 6 speed manual should be used for a boat anchor. Low gear pins your leg against the seat and is very hard to hit 1st gear coming out of low. They added the low gear for the manual because you don''t have enough power to move heavy loads until the turbo kicks in.Service at the dealers is so so. I close to trying the chevy duramax or the old model f250.

The powerstroke mated with the 6speed manual trans hurts the pulling power. The 6 spd manual trans is a peice of junk. The gears are to close together and reverse should never be next to the low gears.I pull heavy trailers (up to 13000 lbs) and the handling of the truck scares the crap out of me at times. I use a fifth wheel with trailer brakes and it still comes up short. I took this setup out of a 93 f250HD deisel and towed up to 19000lbs with little trouble. wow what a truck it was and I should of kept it. I would not advise anyone to do this with the new super duties. Also you almost dislocate your shoulder trying to get to the seat belt.Whats up with the cheap alluminum and plastic radiator. You will never see 200,000 miles out of it.The taigate is a flimsy peice of trash and the big gap between the tailgate and bed really makes it hard loading things. Everything tends to fall through or get stuck. A liottle mor thought for the working man Ford.

Strength:

Power and lots of it. VERY solid truck. Quiet and smooth on the highway.

Weakness:

Hmm. This is hard to say. I''d say rubber around the windows. Makes noises every now and then.

I have owned smaller trucks, but never a beast. The farming life forced me into it. It''s a little uncomfortable driving in town, but a thrill on the highway. I''ve beat the crap out of this truck. 4X4ing to the max. Doing alot of things one really shouldn''t do. I did it. With a smile from ear to ear! I still prefer a smaller vehicle, but when required the Diesel F350 is the cure for almost anything. I''ve even towed 10,000 lbs @ 90 MPH. Stupid I know.

Everything. Gas mileage so far is around 15MPG which is much better than others have reported for a V10 4X4.

This truck is awesome. I have always owned GM trucks up until now. My last truck was a GMC Sierra Z71 5.3L. It would not pull my camper very well. I have now stepped up to a Ford for the first time and couldn''t be happier. 2002 Ford F250 SuperDuty SuperCab 4X4 Lariat Package V10, 3.73LSD, Auto
