Strength:

i like all the room it has, the strength that the triton v8 has. it stands tall and proud. it is very good for towing trailers, carrying heavy loads, off roading. it can fit my whole family in it, it looks great, and it is a very good work vehicle but it is alittle bit luxurious.

Weakness:

the gas mileage.

i would recomend this truck to anyone who likes the big truck feel, room, strength, and likes having fun with there trucks off road, and a work truck. its basicly all u need.

Strength:

Powerstroke has plenty of power once the turbo boost begins at 1500 rpm. Looks like a real p-u. Starts well in cold weather. Mileage is 17/19 mpg pulling stock trailer loaded with 4 to 5 horses in mountains. 6 speed works well with 3.73 rear axle ratio. (I believe 4.10 ratio is why some guys get poor mpg)

Weakness:

Emergency brake seems enemic. Cup holder spills drinks. Manual hubs lost o ring seals at just over warranty. (I have converted to Warn Hubs) Steering stabilizer is too low.

All these p-u's are overpriced, but what fo you do? I will be trading up for a F350 soon and expect to set it up just like this F250 SD. If you need a p-u, the F250/350/450 SD series is your best choice now.

PowerStroke V8. This is the real thing. I do engine research for a university and we have had one of these engines on a dyno since 1994. The thing is a horse! Needless to say, we abuse the thing in the name of research and it never hic-ups. The price of this engine will pay for its self in fuel economy, up keep, and longevity.

Weakness:

None that I can say of, except I am worried about replacing any of the 5 heat exchangers in the front in the case of any collision.

I felt like I got a great deal. Sticker was $31,000 for Supercab XLT with four wheel disc ABS and towing package. I paid ~$25,000 with trade in. Can't wait to load it down.

Strength:

This truck is very powerful for its weight & size pulls my 2000lb camper
up & down B.C. mountains with a breeze the mono beam front axle saves tire wear & is built to last The V10 is smooth & quiet the quality control of the body is exellent this truck is a4x4 and handles better than my 95 f2504x44 and is easy to drive

Weakness:

As one review stated brakes are a problem this truck has 31,000 km & the brakes where all replaced by ford for a pulsating & vibration over 80km an hour. This was covered by the warrenty. I found the pu box bulkhead to be fairly flimsie mine is already bent from the camper shifting also there seems to be lots of problems with the block heater leaking the oring is poor quality.

I factory ordered this truck & waited 4 mon well worth it! I paided 4o,000 can. & dealer waived opt. pkg. so price was 33.900. I would not recomend this truck if you are a tea tottiler driving around town but if you like to pull serious loads & go off road this is the BEST truck for your money.

Great engine, suspension, comfort and durability. I looked at all the
pick-ups on the market and Ford surpassed them all. The 5.4L V-8 has
260 ponies and has torque enough to pull a house down.

Weakness:

With a 3.73 rearend it eats some gas but you can't expect a pick-up to
get the mileage of an Escort.

GM always tries to come out with these higher horsepower motors but what they fail to relize is that there is alot more to a truck than just the motor. My truck has the 260hp V8 and it runs like a champ. The 5.4 motor
has alot of low-end torque but you pay for it in the gas tank. There is
no question who makes the best truck because Quality is Job 1.

Gas Gussler"to be expected", Damn Brakes hmmmmmmmmmm
If BIG Trucks intimidate, don't even consider this rig.
Dealer's have their heads up their ass's.

I paid about 27,8 or so, This truck is Loaded.
I'm not sure if mine is one of them Yellow vermits or not.
Seems to eat Rotors, try three sets in 12K miles. The dumb ass dealer has yet to fix the problem. I'd recommend this truck if Ford could say they have dealers capable of working on what they make.
Its to bad because in truth i really like this truck, but fear Ford will be buying it back pretty soon.
So, in closing, Does anyone own a Brake Company, Ford Needs lots of Rotors.

Gas milage (yeah,right)

I love this truck. My '89 250 was O.K. but getting very
tired. The SD has a shorter turning radius than the '89
(both are 4WD). Plenty of room in the Supercab, with the
seat pushed all the way back I can't reach the gas pedal
and I'm 6'3". Don't know or care about the space in the back
seat.
With an 8' slide-in camper, a 1000 lb. car trailer and my
dad's '68 Dodge Polara on it, we didn't have any trouble
cruising at 65mph through the mountains of Pennsylvania.
The last time I checked the milage was about 11.5 mpg.empty.
Keep in mind that this is a BIG truck and you won't get the
milage of an S-10 or Ranger.
The seat is very comfortable even on long trips, the only
seats that I liked better were the high back buckets in a
'71 Mustang I used to have.

Strength:

So Far I love everything!! The ride and handling is great
and the wait when ordering the V-10 engine was worth the wait. Glad I ordered the crew cab it is definitely like having the best of both worlds, more room thab a large luxury car and the need for a real truck. I love looking down on the world of small car and small truck drivers.

Weakness:

Nothing, ah maybe with the cost of fuel in time I'll won't like the gas mileage, but right now the feeling I get driving this awesome vehicle overrides any gas prices!

My truck in a 2000 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab Lariat. It is totally Black, No decals, No 4X4 sticker, the white letter tires are even turned in. I keep it sparkling! The interior is Parchment (beige) Leather, custom security system, premium cd/cassette, tinted windows, sliding rear window, etc. I custom ordered this vehicle and even though it took along time to get it in from order date it was worth the wait. Next week I'm having a custom cover installed and the hardware is even black. I also have custom painted fender flares on order to match the black clear coat. I highly recommend this truck to any man, family, or woman. It is a Great BIG Toy that turns heads at every corner.
Research your new truck and all its options on the internet to get true cost of all accessories. Build your truck and print out your specs and take this to any local dealer who is willing to match internet pricing, there is plenty of dealers out there.

diesel engine is great! nobody short of a freightliner fFL60 makes a better engine for towing at this time. able to get 12mpg. towing 13,000 @ 65mph.this truck has four wheel disc brakes and they work excellent. ride is firm yet pleasurable, just what you would expect from a 1 ton truck by Ford! closest truck to compare to would be the dodge 3500 and it's engine is anemic in hilly terrain. chevy doesn't even build a diesel engine for trucks yet.

Weakness:

firestone tires are not my first choice (had prior bad experience with them ) when worn out, will go to michelin's and then everything will be right with my world!

paid 30,000 on "A" plan. Listed for 36,000 and change.
for the forseeable future I don't see Chevy or Dodge coming up with anything that can out tow or ride this truck! As the saying goes: The Best Never Rest! GM or Dodge can't hold a candle to this beast. Worst thing about this truck is that they are hard to find. Ford can't build enough of them fast enough to satisfy the demand!

My F-F250 rides great, got a four inch lift and still rides pretty smooth. The room is pretty good and the solidness of the truck is really good. Has enough power to do anything I need to do. I have 32,000 miles on it and it still has not had any problems.

Weakness:

The gas mileage is really bad (10 miles to the gallon).

I specially ordered it and waited 5months but it well worth the wait. I paid $30,000, well worth the money. I would really recommend this truck. Anyone who wants to have plenty of power should buy this truck. But if you have no use for the power I wouldn't buy one.
