Ford F-150 (2010 and older) Trucks | Vans

DESCRIPTION

The Ford F-150 pickup can haul more cargo and tow a heavier trailer than any of its competitors. And with a fully boxed frame, the F-150 has the strongest chassis in its class. Engineered and tested to withstand more punishment than your most difficult tasks, the F-150 is Built Ford Tough to come through with the dependability you expect in this full-size pickup.

The current F-150 does come in a host of cab, bed, powertrain, and suspension variations; there are three cab configurations with multiple wheelbases and box lengths each, providing choices to satisfy just about any trucker's need with the F-150. Properly outfitted, the F-150 can tow 10,700 pounds--while earning five-star frontal crash-test scores. A choice of V-8 engines comes with either four- or six-speed automatic transmissions, but no V-6 engine option is offered.

Strength:

ride is smooth, interior room is great. best of all is it's a ford.

Weakness:

fuel economy, haven't figured out how to disconnect the door ajar chime yet. 4.2 v6 is a bit slower than my 4.0 ranger but that keeps me out of trouble.

The f150 I purchased was used w/ 30,000 mi on it. since i've had it everything has been great. I would highly recommend this truck to a friend. a truck that can withstand my driving has got to be strong. any body looking for a strong, dependable, sharp looking truck this is the truck.

Strength:

Good build quality, styling, powerful V8 engine, has a very smooth ride. Has a commanding feeling on the road.

Weakness:

The fuel economy is a burden (around 15mpg city driving). Also, the location of the CD changer (for '97 models) is cumbersome. Paint quality chips when exposed to direct sunlight

The truck is built of good quality. The price is reasonably paid. It has good acceleration and throttle response. Ride is excellent. Unfortunately, fuel economy is a drawback. I like the truck's design and has a commanding feeling on the road. I would definitely recommend it especially to long haulers.

Weakness:

not that good of a ride but that is ok it is a work truck so that is ok

there is no dodge or chevy I have ever owned that can withstand the off road punishment we give them for for 15 years

Strength:

Handles well, accellerates well,

Weakness:

Had to replace the a/c, tranmission, brakes, alternator, and other stuff within 9 mos of purcheaing used.

This truck seems to be dependable if you do preventative maintinance, but once mine hit 90,000 miles everything started breaking. I would not recommend a used one to a friend.
This truck would be good for someone who buys brand new as a work truck and trades in after a few years for a newer model.

Strength:

I find it has more power than most trucks in it's class, beter handling than many cars. It can actually beat a v6 mustang off the line. Great styling, comfortable, very strong, and all round wicked truck!

Weakness:

Like they say, the paint needs work, the plastic chin spoiler and non-re-inforced rear bumper is annoying. Braking power seems to change as you drive.

It's quite simple. Buy ford, anything else sucks. Found On Road Dead? At least it wasn't cowering in the garage like the chevy!

Strength:

Powerful 4.6L V8 17.5 mpg hope someone guns it at the light and tries to out run me. No one has beaten it yet, eats Dodges and slowly pulls away from GM's. It's a supercab and regular cab V8s pull up and want to race bye, bye. Sometimes I wonder if it's a freak. Solid feel and excellant ride

Weakness:

Needs four wheel disc brakes. Stops better with load in box than empty though.

It's a Lariat so it was expensive..25k I've got 85k on it and like all F150's no extra cost but routine maintenance. It still feels like a new truck and as long as I'm comfortable I'll drive it tell I'm bored. Last two F150 I drove for 150k+ and only sold them because I was bored with them..

Model Reviewed: F-150 Lariat Supercab 4x4

Strength:

This is one great truck. Very strong, 5.4 V8 and with the redesigned back seat, plenty comfortable. The suspension with the off-road and tow packages is fine around town and when I'm really off-road, has a solid, confident feel. There are a lot of car-like amenities that come with the Lariat package and if you want to feel at home in the woods or at the best restaurant in town, you will.

Weakness:

MPG is around 15 to 15.5. This is really about average for a full-size V8 pickup so I can't say it's a weakness. Besides, I didn't but it for gas mileage, but as a tow and work/recreation vehicle.

I bought my truck through my employer and got Ford's 'A' program so I paid $26,500 for a truck that had a $32,200 sticker.

I have never had a new vehicle that I have been as pleased with. There is not a squeek in it. It's not a small truck and if you need the space, hauling, towing or durability features of a full-size truck I can't think of a better choice.

Similar Products Used:

Toyota Tundra - absolutely the most uncomfortable rear seat that I have ever sat in in ANY vehicle. Yeah, I won't be doing much driving from the back seat but the kids, and the dog need to be comfortable too.
