Ford F-150 (2010 and older) Trucks | Vans

DESCRIPTION

The Ford F-150 pickup can haul more cargo and tow a heavier trailer than any of its competitors. And with a fully boxed frame, the F-150 has the strongest chassis in its class. Engineered and tested to withstand more punishment than your most difficult tasks, the F-150 is Built Ford Tough to come through with the dependability you expect in this full-size pickup.

The current F-150 does come in a host of cab, bed, powertrain, and suspension variations; there are three cab configurations with multiple wheelbases and box lengths each, providing choices to satisfy just about any trucker's need with the F-150. Properly outfitted, the F-150 can tow 10,700 pounds--while earning five-star frontal crash-test scores. A choice of V-8 engines comes with either four- or six-speed automatic transmissions, but no V-6 engine option is offered.

Strength:

It is a good solid truck which runs excellent 240,000 miles and still runnin ford tough. It doesn't burn much gass as you think.

Weakness:

the transmission doesn't shift very smooth.

Well again the truck runs very strong and pretty fast i love that I can zoom past people with newer trucks because of there chips. It hung with a new chevy 5.3 vortech and had a clogged airfilter and dirty injectors while doing it. But the 30duece came out on top when we hit a speed of a meesly 100mph which then the governer cut his off. Left him like he had a moped. well as you can see i like my truck and recomend a ford to anyone who wants a nice strong truck.

Everything! This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is perfect for my needs. I needed a truck to do some light hauling for work, enough room to haul around my family or do carpool, and the great ride and comfort for me as I travel a three state are for work.

It is very comfortable and rides great. Lots of interior room gives me room to do car pool or hauling around carpool. 5.4 V-8 has lots of power and is very smooth. Power driver seat is a great way to adjust during long trips. Bed is big enough to haul what I need to haul, but not so big to make this thing a complete tank. Drives great and looks really sharp.

Weakness:

NONE!

My truck stickered for $33,100, paid $28,800 for it. Decided what I wanted and faxed bid requests to 14 different Ford dealers in a 100 mile radius. Got offers from three dealers to purchase at invoice.

I could not recommend it enough. If you need hauling ability, a great ride, and the ability to haul five people, then the SuperCrew is the right vehicle for you. You will be glad you did.

I test drove a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and there was no comparison. The SCrew is superior in every way.

Strength:

18 years old and stull running 300 miles almost every weekend in the fall. Very tough, run it on logging roads on the eastern shore of Maryland. Makes it through deeper mud than compact 4x4's and this truck is a 4X2. Gets half decent gas mileage with the 5.0L (302) engine. Turns 1700 rpm @ 65 mph. Very rarely downshifts out of overdrive. Has lots of torque. Very good on the highway. After 163,000 miles only repair has been a new thermostat. Built in America.

Weakness:

Leaks oil. Probably because it was bought from my next door neighbor after it was never started for almost 2 years. Lots of wind noise, but trucks are supposed to do that. Uncomfortable bench seat. Oil pressure is a little too low for comfort.

I like this truck alot. It has that old feel that you cant get in the newer trucks. I like the way it just "rumbles down the road." I have a feeling that this truck is going to be around for a while. Insurance is low, no car payments, and the same utility features as a new pickup. 0-60 approx 9 seconds. Very good highway power but a pig off the line.

My cousins' 99 f-150 5.4. Blows the doors off the 82. I personally feel the Ford f-150 and Chevy silverado are the two best pickups on the planet. But that is just my opinion.

Model Reviewed: F-150XLT, EXT cab

Strength:

Great comfort, ride, space, pulling power I pull 3500 pound trailer and still get 14-15 mpg. 17-18 without. 5.4 liter V8 only way to go if towing is a regular part of your life. Great Torque in Low end. Whole setup rolls when idling unless I use the brake. The extended cab with the small doors provides a good lockable and accessible storage compartment. The Champagne color with the black spray on bedliner looks real sharp!

Weakness:

Power Seats don't have memory so the argument of having power seats in a truck for 2 different riders is moot. The truck came with more stuff than I really wanted but the price was good. Still no CD player in stock car but I heard 2001 will fix that. I thnk the rear view mirror is a little small and placed a little too low but this is a personal thing I guess. Oil filter a little difficult to reach.

I paid 24K for XLT Ext Cab with almost all the bells and whistles except for a CD player and leather. This is a phonemnal deal (I think) and I think the truck will last for years and years. This is still new I'll post an ad in a year and see how I like it.

Strength:

Comfort. Seat feels like I am sitting in a recliner. Lots of room behind the seat of the regular cab. Controls are convieniently located.

Weakness:

The V6 runs great until you put a boat on it. Very sluggish on hills and low RPM'S. Low MPG for v6, only getting 15 MPG.

Not bad for the money, Would recommend but only with V8 for better power and MPG's.

Dodge had 5.9L V8 and would pull anything also got 18+ MPG, drove for 298,000 without a major problem. The Chebby on the other hand was a total piece of junk, ran fair but don't shut it off or it might not start. Put more miles on the chebby taking it to the shop for repairs, than I did driving it to work.

This truck is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is the most powerful truck I have ever been, next to a Lighting. Im not ragging on other trucks, but the F-150 is the best. Powerful, a good ride, 19 miles to the gallon, not a bit of problem. Everybody gets a lemon. No problem with towing. Also no problem when accleration is needed. I havent found a truck yet to match me!!!!!!!! Even the 2000 Silverado with the Vortec 5.3 cant handle it. It kepps up with me, but cant pass me!!!!!!!!!

Weakness:

Every truck has its weaknesses, but so far I havent found one yet.

$21,000 Brand new!!!! Loaded with the works. Yes I would recommend it.

Strength:

This is a nice tight truck. The XLT Lariat 4X4 5.4 package with all options. We do alot of highway driving. This is a good comfortable vehichle for it. At 120 kph and less than 20, rpm gas is not really a concern. About the same mileage as a sporttrac. The best looking truck on the market. Living in truck country Alberta, even the Dodge boys have a look. I like everthing about the supercrew, but the tires...we replaced those immmediately.

Weakness:

Ford...what is with the crap city-slicker tires. This is a truck!!

All my experiences have been good. If you are in the market for this type of vehicle, you will not go wrong.
