Strength:
size, power, roomy interior, the look
Weakness:
alloy wheels should be standard like the competition for the price; driver side arm rest can be uncomfortable at times An eye catching vehicle; very pleasing to the eye. Love the ride and feel; I read and reviewed comments about the vehicle before we purchased and have yet to discover or experience any of the problems that were mentioned by others. Overall, we are very well pleased with the Sequoia. Similar Products Used: Nissan pathfinder |

Strength:
Ride, build quality(the thump when you close the door tells you), acceleration(9.5 seconds, good for a weighty SUV), safety, refinement, sound system, moonroof, styling
Weakness:
fuel economy, price, handling, mediocre A/C, braking Big ass SUV, Big ass quality, big ass PRICE!!! Great SUV, but quite exspensive. Amazing ride for this kind of SUV yet handling is a little weak. Sound system is great, but for $46,000, where is the subwoofer?? Step-up is high but the doors are fairly wide which help. Big moonroof! Safety is impecable. Braking is good, but it is a heavy SUV and has a weak brake pedal feel. Fuel economy is par about 14 MPG in mostly city driving with some highway. 8 passenger seating is useful. Overall, AMAZING TRUCK. |

Strength:
Fit and finish, great handling for a big SUV, power to spare and room for the family.
Weakness:
A/C controls could be easer to use and a memory setting in the power seats would be helpful. After driving a van for 10 years this big ute took awhile to get used to. But after the "break in" period I absolutely love this truck! Great quality, power and road manners. For all of those complaining about the mileage, this is a big truck, what did you expect!! |

Best looking full size suv on the market. Mine is a black limited loaded with all extras..great sound system, smooth ride, and lots of power( for an example of power...My brother owns a dodge durango with larger V8 engine and a much lighter truck, we dragged from light to light about 1 mile, and we were neck and neck all the way, which in my opinion is excelent). Anyhow shop around you will be amazed at how subpar the others are compared to the Sequoia..and that goes double for the ford models!
Weakness:
If I had to list anything, I would say that the sound system is geared for the front seat driver and passenger only. About 2/3s of the sound is generated to the front of the truck which is ok with me cause Im the driver...but it would have been nice to have a more evenly distibuted sound. And of course theres the whole drives like a truck , and not like the sportscar complaint...Ill get over it. This is my 3rd Toyota, there will definatly be a forth at this point. After driving this SUV for 10 months, I still refuse to ever own a domestic automobile. They know how to please the consumer at Toyota!Got a great deal,Ill credit the dealership for that one, seeing that most buyers of the limited model paid much more..40,000-45,000. This is one hell of a truck. Similar Products Used: Jeep Cherokee(crap) Ford expidition..just a testdrive(enough for me to realize they dont have a clue) |

Strength:
Great looking and spacious. The eighth seat is nice.
Weakness:
Stereo system is cheap sounding. There are obvious AC problems (The dealers have acknowledged this). Rear cargo area is small. High insurance. Arm rests are very limiting for a vehicle of this cost range. Purchased this vehicle in 11/02. Air conditioning problems began to occur within 6 months. Two Toyota dealerships have still been unable to completely diagnose (after more than 60 days and numerous maintenance visits)the underlying problem let alone repair it. Currently, we are researching the Lemon Law criteria. Similar Products Used: Land Cruiser, BMW SUV |

Strength:
Overall a good looking vehicle.
Weakness:
Replaced entire A/C three(3) times. The final time was under a recall notice that was not sent out to consumers. The anti-skid is going to get someone killed if it has not been corrected on the 2002 model. Kill the power on the engine to the point that you are left sitting in merge traffic and you can't get up to highway speed if there is even a little bit of wheel spin when you go to accelerate. I was very disappointed with the vehicle. So much for Toyota quality. I had the truck for about a year and a half and was very disappointed. Maybe it was the first year introduction problems. Toyota Sequoia SR5 4x2
Strength:
Very smooth and quiet car-like ride. Rear window rolls down.
Weakness:
Cheap construction, gas mileage is 15% less than comparable suv's, cheap tires, crappy headrest, crappy armrest, uncomfotable seats, horrible brakes, high insurance, higher price, crummy sound system, high maintenance. The Sequoia rides more like a car than a truck. It looks like a truck on the outside and a car on the inside. The steering wheel seems to resemble a mid size car. The gas and brake pedals seem like some one made them in their garage out of scrap parts. I get 12 MPG in town, and 14 MPG on the highway. The insurance is very high, and the brakes don't work very well. The seats are very uncomfortable for such an expensive vehicle. The air filters cost three times as much as my other car. The undercarriage looks like a spray painted plastic go-cart. Toyota does not make cars like they used to. Similar Products Used: Toyota pickup, Toyota Tacoma Xtra cab, Toyota 4-runner, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Ram pickup. I think Toyota's were much better 20 years ago. Now they are over-priced and over-rated. |

Strength:
Solid comfortable ride.
Weakness:
Traction control, steering colume creaks, brakes and service. Overall, I am very disappointed with reliability during my 16 months of ownership. So far my Seqouia has been in the shop 15 times (2 different dealerships) for problems with traction control and a binding noise in the steering colume (diagnosed as angle arm sensor). I can't seem to find a Toyota tech that knows how to work on these systems. This is my second american built Toyota and I can tell you after owning nine diferent models there is a significant difference between the Japan models and the US models. I actually had lees problems with my 1998 Expedition. Thinking about trading for an 03 Expedition now but re-sale is a problem. Similar Products Used: Explorer and Expedition |

Strength:
The look is fabulous. The ride could be smooth sometime.
Weakness:
The armrest is too small that I had to the comparment box or the passenger armrest. The driver seat is so uncomfortable that I had to tist and turn every so often. The front console is ulge looking, especially the gear switch. The car always seem to make loud before it run in normal gear switching condition. The gas milage has been the biggest headache of all. I litterly scare the sucker because it use so much gas. The stereo system sound terrible. For the brakes, the distance to stop is too long. Which mean you better apply the brake sooner sooner before the vechile come to a full stop. A very nice looking SUV. The ride is smooth. However, overall satisfaction is somewhat unsatisfied. There are too many weaknesses versus the strengths. Really surprise by the how much gas it takes. Makes me regret of buying this SUV. Similar Products Used: None. |

Strength:
Toyota quality. HUGE sunroof. Easy entry to the third row that even my 4 yo can operate.
Weakness:
Console should be higher and wider with median arm-rests eliminated altogether. They are uncomfortable. Terrible sound system. Front seats are too shallow. Advertised cargo space is a lie. Heater takes too long to warm up. Generally very good automobile Similar Products Used: Expedition |
