REAR VISIBILITY FOR BACKING UP AND CHANGING LANE.

SO FAR SO GOOD, DRIVES LIKE I AM FLOATING ON THE CLOUDS. VERY SPACIOUS AND ENOUGH ROOM FOR EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING I WANT TO HAUL. EXCELLENT SUV.

Strength:

Power, smoothness of ride, ease to drive

Weakness:

clock in bad spot, limited vision when looking over left shoulder to make lane change (head portion of seat blocks some visability).

I LOVE MY SUV! I can't say enough good things about the Toyota Sequoia. The Toyota is smooth, powerful, classy, and so spacious. It didn't take long to get used to driving. The leg room for backseat passangers is incredible. I also opted for the dvd/playstation feature which is so fun to have! I totally recommend this SUV!

Strength:

Large interior capacity

Weakness:

Lack of engine power.

Have experienced intermittent vibration from bottom of vehicle since delivery. Toyota of Morristown has attempted to fix it twice and has now categorized it as a vehicle "characteristic." Dealership has made no attempt to rectify problem and claims Toyota knows it occurs on some Sequoias, but not all.

Strength:

Classy interior, side-curtain airbags (not many cars have them), large size, fits 9 people easily, Toyota reliability-factor

Weakness:

The air conditioner sucks! We had to have it replaced at 10,000 miles (luckily still under warranty), but the new one still blows lukewarm air. Irvine Toyota said it's our problem and to deal with it. Other problems: uncomfortable seats, squeaky backseat (rattles when driving), and poor visibility when backing up.

Very safe car and extremely luxurious. The best SUV on the market. Even with some of my complaints, I'd buy it again. It's a very, very nice car.

Similar Products Used:

Ford Explorer (terrible car -- 4 recalls!); Jeep Wrangler (loved, but no airbags).

Strength:

Well built by Toyota, nice ride, quality sound system, functional and comfortable seating with the most rear seat legroom of any large suvs we tested. Nice off road capability with large 265R16 tires. Sunroof was a pleasant suprise and the vehicle is a real joy to drive. Lots of storage room, more than Ford Expedition. Best thing of all, Hey! it fits in my garage, try that with a surburban.

Weakness:

A/c went out at 5,000 miles and took over a month to fix. Since then no problems. Brakes seem a little mushy and might need pads replaced soon (only 15,000 miles). Can't roll down back side windows without opening front windows due to "wap wap wap" sound coming from air circulating in truck. Poor visability out the rear window, look close before backing up.

Great solid suv for the family who ocassionally travels off highway. Handles like a big truck but gives you a very safe and secure feeling. Adequate power and acceleration. Braking also adequate but this is a very heavy vehicle and is feels like you're in a runaway train coming down the off ramps to a stop.

Strength:

Hopefully will hold it's resale value so I can get rid of it

Weakness:

Bad brakes - had to be replaced with less than 10,000 miles. Driveline vibration. Toyota still hasn't fixed it. Surging and stumbling acceleration

Supremely disappointed in Toyotas service. Several problem exist with this model that are not receiving satisfactory response from Toyota. Bad brakes, stumbling acceleration, drive train vibration. Check the message boards you'll see a lot of complaints that aren't being addressed. I purchased this first Toyota becuase so many of my friends had good experiences with the 4Runner. Recommend staying away from the Sequoia model.

Strength:

Engine performs well as long as you don't haul anything too heavy. Comfortable seating for second and third row seats. Drives like a luxury car.

Weakness:

1. Possibly the transaxle needs adjustment due to constant thumping when coming to a stop or just standing at a light. 2. Rear Heater takes forever to get warm. 3. VSC causes many issues for this SUV, very dangerous. 4. Braking issues. Brakes get worn out to quickly. 5. Break in period causes rotten smell

Size of this behemoth is why we purchased this vehicle, and of course the Toyota reputation and reliability. Smooth running vehicle, but needs many improvements. Third row seating is for average size individuals and not just smaller framed persons. Solidly built. Used as a family oriented vehicle.
