Strength:

color is blue with grey trim

Weakness:

steering fluid leaks, coolant leaks, had tires replaced first year, motor of rear window wiper broke front wiper squeals so loud it is embarassing, never like the way it ran i absolutely hate it and actually have to lose money in order to trade it in because it is one of the worst engines and the value of the car depreciates severely

i would never recommend this car to anyone. It runs poorly, sounds horrible, gas mileage sucks and it seems like something is always wrong with it. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!!!

Strength:

Reasonable price for V6 powered sportute...so I thought.

Weakness:

Problems galore with this vehicle...just to name a few...
- BEWARE, it has been losing about a quart of oil every oil change and so
far Suzuki has been unwilling to recognize there is a problem,
- Passenger wipers streak,
- noisy rear-differential,
- defective weather seal causes water to enter vehicle in car wash,
- gas mileage could be better,
- tires are inadequate in the snow,
- starter seem to get weaker by age.

Suzuki's ad campaign indicates that they are 'ENGINEERED BEYOND BELIEF'.

I would have to agree since it is beyond my belief that any car
manufacturer would design their engines to lose a quart of oil every oil
change. I don't how Suzuki won Pike's Peak, but their car probably had no
oil left when it reached the finish line.

Considering all the problems I've encountered with this vehicle I don't
know whether it's that good of a value. I guess it goes back to the old
saying 'You get what you pay for' and in this case its a car full of
problems.

Priced better than the Honda CRV or Toyota RAV, but I suspect these vehicle
propably have less defects and more cooperative head offices than Suzuki.

Strength:

Better than average power, very nice exterior look. The 40 MPH frontal offset crash rating were very good for this vehicle.

Weakness:

Lacking backseat room (family of 4 works well). Four adults is somewhat cramped. Have had some trouble with the stereo system (twice).

MSRP $18,995. When I bought it, it looked like the most vehicle for the money. It is one of only two vehicles currently available with V6. Where I live it is very hilly so the power of the V6 made my decision easy. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a SUV but does not want to pay $30,000 to have one.

Test drove many of the vehicles in class. We were considering the Honda CRV but it lost out because of no V6 and Crash Test ratings not as good as the Vitara. One plus of the CRV was more backseat room and cargo space.

Strength:

All around great vehicle

Weakness:

Tires are some kinda joke! No grip in snow, wet grass or mud.

Highly recommended, just change the tires! Very good exceleration, lots of power. Sound system is decent, but rear speakers are in a bad location (roof mount with no bass cavity). Very comfortable ride.

If you hit a set of train track doing about 90K you can get all 4 wheels off the ground! YEAH!

Strength:

Ride. Quietness. Power. 4 wd capability. Style. Stereo. Leather seats and comfort of them!

Weakness:

Smell (I don't know why, but it does) Mileage (for a little guy, it could get better) Stock tires are kind thin in the snow. Not as much cargo room as others in it's class.

What an enhancemet to it's older siblings! My wife drives this and has been very pleased so far. It has this rotten egg smell, however, that just doesn't go away. We got the Limited for the added option of tinted glass. It is an expense that should be available on the others as well. Mostly, it seemed smarter for the sake of the air conditioning. Clear glass lends itself to more work by the ac to cool things off. Comfort is above average and good for the whole family (5 folks total). Getting around town is easy and quick. Would be nice if the rear door swung open in the other direction.

Generally a good ride with some nice features and benefits!

nimble easy around city
good off road in snow and icy conditions
excellent mileage

Weakness:

Options are a little bit expensive

I would recommend this Suzuki to anyone who is not all concerned about the prestige of the glitzy ,pricey, SUV's
that really don't offer much more for twice the price.

Great Milage, Nice looks, really good power.

Weakness:

I would've like the interior to be a little quieter.

I love my G.V. It feels more solid than the Kia Sportage, and you'll get more for the price than a CRV or RAV4. $18,250.

Strength:

Quiet, silky smooth ride, gem of a 6-cylinder engine. Enormous headroom. Great cornering, the closest any SUV has come to a sports car in this regard. Good acceleration for comfortable passing (the CRV is awful in this regard) and great torque for climbing hills (I had to switch off my AC to climb even moderate slopes in the CRV). You show have seen the faces of the owners of the much larger SUVs that I towed out of bad situations in off road conditions. Very well planned interior, lots of storage space in unexpected places. By far the best styling of any of the mini SUVs. If this vehicle had a Honda or Toyota badge on it, it would have been the world's best selling mini SUV.

Weakness:

Cramp trunk storage space. 6 footers would be uncomfortable in the rear seat. Rear door opens the wrong way. Gas mileage is not the best. Deserves a better name than Vitara. Bridgestone Tires that come on the new GV are not so good.

the GV is a great vehicle that represents good value even at a 20% higher price. I really did my homework and test drove all the mini SUV alternatives before buying the GV because I had a really bad experience with the CRV which kept getting stuck even in mild off-road conditions because, as I discovered later, it is just a Civic disguised as an SUV. Traded the 9 month old CRV for a GV. One of the best decisions I ever made. The GV is great in off-road conditions. The person who reviewed the GV for Edmunds and ranked it so low, was either not so competent or must have a personal vendetta againt the GV for some reason. This person actually said in his review that the CRV had off-road capabilities and I know first hand, that the off-road capabilities of the CRV are non existant. I can't imagine anyone test driving the CRV, RAV-4, Sportage, Xterra and Sante Fe and then not choosing the GV. I used to work at Toyota and I asked one of the engineers in Toyota Japan, who is a good friend, for his honest opinion about the GV. He told me that the GV is something that the Toyota engineering team wished they had designed. I guess the fact that the latest RAV-4 looks so much like the GV proves that Toyota engineers and designers did look at the GV as a benchmark when redesigning the RAV-4.

Similar Products Used:

I used a CRV before and there is no comparison. The GV wins hands down in every department except for the rear trunk room. The current RAV-4 that seems to be patterned on the GV is alright, but its predecessor with its very feminine styling is more of a hair dressers SUV.
