Body style Steering plastic body panels

Weakness:

Rattles creaks road noise really bad overall quality and workmanship poor

This is are second vue. The first one had so many rattles and noice that we did the 30 day trade in for a different one. The second Vue came with a sunroof that was defective it would bind up really bad. Second same rattles also weatherstripping caused both front windows to rattle. As far as road noice this car sucks. This hunk of crap has been in the shop for a toal of 7 days so far.

Handling Lots of Room - can fit 2 strollers and groceries in the back Visability

Weakness:

Position of the power window control-they are not on the door - in the center Gas mileage - doesn't seem to get the mileage that it claimed it would.

I previously owned a 95 Saturn SL2. I decided to stay with Saturn and get the VUE. I love the way it handles. Can make nice sharp turns unlike my 95 Saturn. Steering was a little touchie at first but I am used to it now. Had it in right away because gas gauge was stuck on empty but problem went away on its own before appt and they couldn't find anything that caused it.

Strength:

- interior room - Saturn dealership experience - looks/styling - body panels - standard features for price

Weakness:

- lack of refinement (a value nontheless) - a slightly stronger engine would be nice (maybe 160HP or so)

I am very very close to purchasing this vehicle. I own two Saturns and the older of the two (a 95) is ready to be traded in - although it still drives like new. Having two kids - we are definately looking for the extra storage room a SUV or minivan will offer. Because of our positive experience with our other two Saturns it was a no-brainer to look at the Vue. The first thing that surprised me was how much room I had - I am 6'1" and 245lbs. It felt great having so much room. The electric steering might take some getting used to - feels loose while driving, but I guess that's how they designed it - it was far easier to steer into parking spaces than regular power assisted steering. Owning other Saturns - I also know what you are getting. A vehicle with strong standard features but not what you might call 'well appointed' - but that suits me fine. I just need something to get myself and the kids around. I tested the 4 cylinder and was able to merge onto the freeway with ease. I might not be able to beat my buddy's 200HP Escape in a drag race - but it's sure going to cost me a lot less to drive.

Strength:

it has a V6 engine wich for the most part is a very nice size engine for the vue. it has a very strong frame and is built like a saturn wich is good!

Weakness:

the weakness is its audio system it needs to come with better quality speakers from stock!

the saturn vue has its ups and downs it can be the sporty suv that you always wanted or it can be the luxurious suv that is comferterable at the same time. my freind also bought one and said he loves it and its powerfull V6 engine!

Gas Mileage (might be mechanical)

I love the look and feel of this car. I got the 4 cyl. AWD CVT. There are a few things that need to be fixed, though. On a cold Minnesota winter day (below zero temps), My son stepped on something that was on the floor and cracked the plastic trim. Also, most reviews say that this vehicle gets awesome gas mileage. I get 15-17 mpg. I bought it because of the claim of great gas mileage and have been sorely disappointed. The people at the dealership claim it takes 1500-2000 miles before we see that kind of mileage. How convenient. That's after our grace period for no questions asked return. At this point, I'm not sure we should keep this vehicle. We've liked Saturns in the past, but this one baffles me.

Attractive styling, handles well in the snow. Lots of cargo room. Great visibility!

Weakness:

Refer to review summary. Really like the buying experience with Saturn but the product quality is not worth the money paid.

We really love our Saturn Vue, but there have been a lot of trips to the garage. Had it in 3 times for "service engine soon" light coming on. Had to have a temperature sensor replaced. Steering wheel creaks while turning left and right.Rattling noise coming from front end, cannot find the problem. Fuel economy questionable. Waiting 6 weeks now for windshield wiper parts to come in.

Acceleration space inexspensive options

Weakness:

The V6 is noisy on acceleration. i plan on installing sound deadening material in the spring. Could have more supportive seats but for the price of the leather + heated option can t beat it.

Have 7k Miles on my View and am pretty happy with it. Drives real nice and has excellent pickup. I test drove all competitors and could not find a better value at the time with 0% and the GM discount i qualified for. I dont belive this vehicle suffers from wind noise any more than the infinity g35 sedan I drove. It does not have "transmission noise" (Karl-the V6 does not have CVT!) The 5 spd auto shifts very well. I recommend not upgrading stereo (for most vehicles) go aftermarket.

Strength:

* Amount of car for the money * Smooth ride, especially around the city * No hassle, no haggle buying--the price you see is the price you pay * Good extended warranty program * Exceptional gas mileage * Spacious interior * Excellent handling

Weakness:

* Not a great deal of interior amenities

First I would like to say that the only reason I looked into getting a VUE was because of this website...carreview.com. I wasn't even considering one before then. But man, I'm glad I did my homework first!! Saturn was offering a 0% down, 0% interest...a great deal. We've had our VUE for a few months now and we love it. As has been mentioned previously, it's a head-turner as far as looks go. There is no other SUV in its market that looks nearly as good. Also, it is roomier than most SUVS in its class. We show dogs, so it is important for us to be able to fit dog crates and various items in the car. We can actually get two dog crates inside if we fold the seat down. (I especially love the 70/30 folding split seat. You can pack in more items and still have a comfortable passenger seat available). I've read about the road noise people have experienced and that simply hasn't been the case with us. Of course, we keep the stereo pretty cranked up on road trips, so that could account for it. When idling, the engine is so quiet that I've accidently keyed the ignition twice when it's already been running. oops. The VUE's interior isn't the fanciest. But then, for the price, I'm willing to forgo a flashy interior. The cup holders are recessed in the middle panel, so you don't have those spills when you take a corner a little too hard (a problem I ALWAYS had with my Caravan). Also on the plus side is the automatic locking doors, which automatically unlock when you turn the car off. And I'm surprised no one else has mentioned the warranty. That was really the cincher for me. The typical 3 year, 30,000 miles of course...but they have an unusual extended warranty you can get at the time you purchase the car...I got the 6 year, 60,000 miles for 1200 dollars. Yes, you pay for it up front, BUT if you don't ever use it, they give you a FULL refund after the 6 years or 60,000 miles. A beautiful thing if you're like me and don't trade your car in every couple of years. Also, I really the electric steering. Even if the engine were to die, with electric steering you won't lose handling performance. If I could change some things, I'd put the automatic window buttons on the door panels. It's hard to get used to them being on the console.

-great car to look at -lots of cargo room -good pick up -impressive power

Weakness:

-gas gauge going up and then down -LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! -LOUD -basic engineering problems that should have been worked out -violent lurching

Within a month of owning the car we noticed several large knocking/rattling noises coming from the front of the car, this has continued throughout the lifetime of the vehicle. We are pleased with the overall driving and handling of the car. The interior is also not the most comfortable. We have had continued problems with the gas guage, cd player, transaxle, electrical systems, and the car indiscrimanately no starting.

ROAD NOISE! very frustraiting at times. Weather stripping in doors not adequit, debree gets inside door floor step in. electronic stering takes some getting used to in tight spots.

for the most part i am very pleased w/my new car purchase. It's got a sharp head turning appearance. And pleanty of Everyday conveniances. I got a basic 4cyl. 2fwd. Gas milege is exceptional! The 4cyl. automatic trans model was a bit slow but the 5speed stick is comfortable and much quicker. The 145hp feels like more.
