Awsome SUV. This Vehicle is probibly the most underrated SUV on the Market. The new 240hp engine is awsome. Bose System with 6 CD changer in-dash is great. I also love the look. Overall a great vehicle
Weakness:
Guzzles Gas. (What SUV doesen't) Wish I had got the power seats. After trying out The Explorer and Jimmy without being very impressed, I test drove the 01 Pathfinder. I found this to be a great ride from the beginning. It handles and rides like a car. The interior is spacious and very comfortable. The rear cargo area is also larger than the other SUV's I looked at. The 31,000 I paid for it I felt was very reasonable considering I got a power sunroof and the Bose Stereo System. I fell in love with this SUV so much I bought it without even looking at the 4-runner. (Mainly because I knew that it would run me at least 5 grand more). The 240hp engine is supurb. It runs smooth and quiet. I can't even hear it when I have the stereo on at a modest level. If you are looking for a mid-size SUV with a luxury feal to it without going for broke, this is the one to choose. Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer, GMC Jimmy |

Powerful SUV compared to the 4 Runner, Nice stereo system
Weakness:
Fuel economy One of the best decision made. I was comparing various SUV's and I narrowed my decision to the Toyota 4 Runner, and the Infiniti QX4. After trying out the QX4, I was hooked. I was about to buy the QX4, but found out that Nissan just released an SUV just like the QX4, but 5k cheaper. The Nissan had the exact features as the QX4 in terms of ride, and performance. The only feature that is missing on the Nissan is the lack of full time 4wd. Similar Products Used: Dodge Durango, Toyota 4 Runner, |

Strength:
Car like ride, great handeling, luxury feel, nice titanium duo-tone paint job, BOSE stereo, almost as much room as the Durango (www.edmund.com), Nissan reliability.
Weakness:
Until 2001 slow engine (good amount of torque). Otherwise nothing! Around 31,000 Lease of 400.00 (includes tax)Bose, Limited Slip SE. I have not only recommended but talked my sister into getting one. (hehehe trying to get mom to take over my lease so I can get the 2001 w/the bigger engine. WOW) Similar Products Used: Jimmy, Jeep Grand, Blazer, 4 Runner... For the price NOTHING compares |

Sweet, sweet ride.
Weakness:
Really hard on gas. $36,700 (CDN) - would recommend to anyone that has a few extra bucks for fuel. Would not recommend for commuting though for this reason. Similar Products Used: 4Runner - underpowered and needlessly expensive (and I LOVE Toyota's) |

XE 2 wheel drive
Strength:
Rides nice and high. This thing is a tank! I could run through walls with it and maybe get a dent here and there. I've been in three accidents with it, and I really have to look for any damage to it if there is any at all. I backed into some guy's car and crushed his door, but did absolutely nothing to my car. I don't know what these other people are talking about when they say it drives slow. I always beat everyone at the stop light without even really stepping on the gas. And I cruise through traffic at a good 90 mph, on average, so it does have speed. What you have to realize is that you're driving an SUV. If you want speed, don't buy an SUV. That should be pretty obvious. It has a lot of room inside, no matter what these other people say. And if you're not sure, just go look at one. This bad boy, I call it "The Beast", has lasted a good 100K miles, and I got it with 48K already on it 6 yrs ago. It looks damn cool, especially with tinted windows and oversize tires on it.
Weakness:
Gas mileage isn't too good. If I drive how I normally drive (fast), I get 275 miles per tank. But I've learned to conserve by driving closer to the speed limit, and now I get 330-360 miles per tank, which is about 20 mpg. Not great, but I've learned to live with it. The ride is a little hard, like a truck, but like I said it's an SUV. Factory stereo sucks, but I've lived with that for 6 yrs too. At about 100K, I've started to have engine troubles like worn belts, not the fan belt. Also, I'm getting a clicking noise everytime I accelerate, which I can only assume has to do with the manifold. But I can repair that easily, most likely a crack. I rate this car very well. With a few minor one time tune-ups, it could easily go another 100K. However, I'm selling it to buy my dream car, a 3rd generation Rx7. (I know I know, more bad gas mileage, but whatever.) It's durable as hell, and would go through any car, so you guys better watch out if you see one coming at ya. It looks cool as hell, and is a reminder that SUV's used to be rugged and powerful. It's not as big as these stupid Explorers, Excursions, and Suburbans, that are completely ridiculous and are menaces to the road. I pity anyone who drives one, but that is beside the point. Like I said, The Pathfinder is one of the original sport utility's and it looks as good on the road today as it did when they first came out. If you can get one with lower miles, test it out and see if you like it. I love my car, and will be very sad to let it go. Similar Products Used: Dodge Durango, too big and awkward. Nice pick up though. |

Pathfinder LE 4x4
Strength:
Power, quickness, nimble for SUV. Cargo room. Handsome looks. Carlike ride
Weakness:
Very little rear seat room. 4x4 selector and gas peddle in awkaward place thus making it require more leg room. Some of the buttons (window, cruise, etc) are cheap and less than friendly. I really wanted an Acura MDX for front-wheel drive, better gas mileage and more interior space. Nissan waived lots of lease cost and sold PF at invoice so I went w/ it. At first, I had comfoprt problems (I am 6'3" 260) but I loved the ride. Slowly my body adjusted to the fit and I really began to love this vehicle. Especially when it was time to haul stuff. Similar Products Used: Owned two Nissan Maximas prior to PAthfinder. PF handles well (but no Max) but power is very comparable. |

.5 pathfinder sport
Strength:
The truck is very easy to drive because it handles like a regular car. The price was fairly good and the car included crome wheel, power locks and windows etc.
Weakness:
The back door is somewhat small and most people have trouble climbing in. I find it difficult to shift it into the low gear 4 wheel drive. The truck gives good climbing and towing power but the acceleration is somewhat slow, and you have to push it at higher RPMs to compenstate. The ground clearance is not really a problem, unless you do some serious off roading. I had some things scrape the bottom of the car! Nothing was damaged though, the unibody design, ensured that whatever hit the bottom of the car hits the frame. If you do get this SUV, make sure it doesn't have any stock side steps. They lower the ground clearance to a sports car. Don't try to drive through a river..... its a pathfinder, not a hummer or a boat. Similar Products Used: Bronco. |
