GAS MILEAGE, LOOKS, POWER, LOOKS, PRICE, LOOKS, QUITE RIDE, LOOKS, ZENON LIGHTS, BRAKES ARE GREAT.

Weakness:

PLASTIC GRILL.

GOOD LOOKING,LIKE THE POWER AND TRANSMISSION. ROOMY FOR PASSENGERS FRONT AND BACK WITH ENOUGH STORAGE ROOM FOR US AND TWO YOUNG BOYS. IT SEEMS OTHER REVIEWERS AREN'T GETTING GOOD GAS MILEAGE BUT WE JUST MADE A TRIP TO WISCONSIN AND GOT 26 TO 28 MPG ON THE HIWAY. I THINK THAT IS GREAT FOR THIS ENGINE. PREMIUM GAS IS RECOMMENDED BUT MINE RUNS FINE ON REGULAR. I LIKE THE 18" TIRES AND WHEELS. I MAY NOT LIKE THEM SO MUCH WHEN IT COMES TIME TO BUY NEW TIRES BUT FOR NOW I LIKE THEM.

Strength:

Translation into hp for engine size. Sturdy feeling at the wheels, no mushiness. Acceleration better than many non-efficient V6 sedans. Road noises under control, but not bounciness on rough pavements.

Weakness:

Bouncy back seats. Could improve on having more basic features within reach for a driver used to amenities of a good Honda class sedan.

Good styling except maybe the front grill. Overall satisfaction in terms of luxury sedan-like quality. Performance within same category is undeniably something to make other manufacturers ponder.

Strength:

CVT, over all smoothness, power of the drive train, love the room in the rear seat (kudos to Nissan for having the cojones to skip the 3rd seat), overall value.

Weakness:

Limited color selection

I looked at the BMW, Benz, Volvo, GMC, Lexus, and Toyota entries in this class and found the Murano superior. I mean superior, not just in price, but performance and comfort. The only SUVs in this class that I can compare it to are the Infinitis, but the Murano is far less expensive and just as capable as the FX35. I presently have a Suburban along with the Murano so towing was not a big concern. I have not had the rattle problems yet or any problem for that matter. I always thought American products would rule the SUV world, nut Nissan has taken over the mid-size class.

Strength:

-strong engine on the straightaway -good brakes -CVT is a blast when pushed -extremely practical for short-distance hauling -comfortable interior, seats -attracts a crowd, even at the supermarket

Weakness:

-needs about 25-30 more hp for climbing hilly terrain -not top-quality interior materials -gas mileage below expectations -a few dead spots with rear visibility

An unusually visually striking new SUV entry, with "all of the toys". So far it has performed beyond my expectations. Despite a few "niggles", in most ways, this is a far better vehicle than the two suv's owned previously, and the five others I'd tested.

Strength:

CVT!! great freeway mileage (28-32 MPG); drives like a sports sedan; comfortable seats, large interior space

Weakness:

so-so city mileage (15-18 MPG); minor squeaks on rough pavement, mostly from unfastened seat belts rubbing the seats, which can be minimized by changing the seat positions.

I never thought that I would like a SUV until I drove the Murano.

Strength:

Strong, integrated design gives the Murano a muscular look without the boxiness of an SUV. The powertrain is just that, powerful. The Murano scoots, particularly at passing speeds. The interior is spacious with plenty of room in the back seats for adults.

Weakness:

Gas mileage is nowhere close to expectations. About 15 city and 18 highway. The center consol is palstered with buttons of dubious utility. Who needs an English/Metric button featured so promenently, except to take up space. The AWD lock button is very ill-placed between the shifter and the tray used to set glasses and other incidentals. I acidentally turned it on the first night I had the vehicle. It should be re-located by the VDC button. Many of the consol controls are needlessly complicated to operate. Some things are in the on-sceen menu and others have their own buttons. The same is true for the stereo. The front passenger door is hung a fraction to low. The rear plastic panel behind the passenger side rear wheel is loose. The paint seems to chip easily. The power plug for a cell phone is difficult to operate from the drivers seat.

Nissan got it's act together with the Murano by coming out with a cutting edge design with all the features of a Lexus RX 300 or Mercedes M Class for thousands less.

Strength:

Engine and transmission. Love the power and the seamless shifting. Great Bose system! Who needs a custom aftermarket system? Seats are comfortable, no problem with the view (especially with the big outside mirrors), programmable garage door opener is a cool option. GREAT value for the money!

Weakness:

When windows are opened about 1" they tend to slightly vibrate over bumps. Should be a power outlet on drivers side, not passenger side and in a better location.

Very solid vehicle and am impressed by the edgy, futuristic looks. I love sliding right into the drivers seat without bending down or stepping up. I would not call the ride car-like, but it does ride nicely enough. Overall, this SUV was well thought out and well put together.

Strength:

- Best looking SUV - Thoughtful inside layout - Strong engine, good passing power - Good stereo system - Drives like a sedan, minimal body roll

Weakness:

- Cheap plastic panels inside the cabin. - Long lasting inside cabin smell, coming from all that plastic used inside. - Thin, cheap inside roof insulation - Low quality leather used for seats - Rattles and other door panel noises when driving on rough pavement - Bad AC air flow design:Weak AC flow, when used on both upper and lower outlets. - Gas mileage is not up to the specs(20-24). I get in town 15.8-17 and on highway 18-20

Murano is a nice product, but you should wait one or two more years for Nissan to iron out some problems or improve the quality

The CVT by far.

Weakness:

None.

What a great car. Roomy both in front and in back. The dual zone climate control is great! My and I will no longer have to fight over the A/C. But, what I like best in the CVT. Combined with the engine, the transmission makes this car hum and it blows the door off anything else in its class. Get one before they're all gone. P.S. for those of you in Chicago, see Mike Fluery at Mid City Nissan. He was superb.
