Weakness:
Poor gas mileage. Not nearly what they advertise (20/24). I am getting around 15.5 mpg! The new CV transmission is OK, but not better than the automatics in Jeeps. I love its looks, handling, and interior. The ride is rough, and the spring travel does not seem very long before it bottoms out. Similar Products Used: Jeep grand cherokee. |

Murano SL
Strength:
Power - 245 HP from an engine that has rcvd awards the world over. It is the same motor used in the 350Z car, detuned slightly, but still very powerful. Even more powerful than some V8s in other SUVs. And the CVT always has the power where it needs to be. A steady 6000 rpm under hard acceleration or a steady 1800 RPM while cuising at 70MPH. The large 18" wheels are well placed at the far ends (Longest Wheelbase in class) and well out on the edges. Highest rated SUV for "anti-rollover". Excellent gas Mileage for this much power. The dash instruments are very well placed. The accessory Pod that controls things like Driver and passenger A/C (Separate controls), Bose Stereo (Which is what I would call "Good" but not excellent), is well positioned. The rear seats fold flat....by themselves! From remote levers at the tailgate...standard. The brakes are far better than any other comparable model......check the road tests. The 8 position power seat with adjustable steering wheel AND adustable pedals make it comfortable for any driver. And it has memory- his and hers. It comes with standard Air bag curtains front and rear (They are not even available on most cars.).
Weakness:
Cup holders. Poor design, but can be modified to accept your favorite cup. But why should you have to? Video screen is hard to see in direct sunlight. Maybe slightly overpriced. My SL listed for $33,000/got pretty good deal at $29.7 Limited colors. SAT radio not available, even tho there is a button for it. Bought this car about a month ago. How can you go wrong? It's a Nissan. It's built in Japan. It carrys a 3 yr 36000 mile Bumper to Bumper warranty and an extended 5 year warranty on the drivetrain at no charge. Additional warranty (up to 7 years) is available. It is "faster" than any other V6 SUV on the planet, including the much more expensive BMW, up to about $50,000. It can outhandle all of them. It rides, not hard, but sporty. Styling? Well I like it. It doesn't have that "truck look" that most have.It is just plain sexy looking. The gas mileage receives entirely too much criticism. NO vehicle in this class actually gets the EPA numbers. I get 18.6 MPG in suburban driving. With approx 4000 pound and 245 HP, that is sensational. I get 23.8 MPG at 75 MPH with the AC on. I see NO appreciable differences in "Quality" of the interior between the Honda Pilot, the Toyota Highlander or the Murano. The interior is much more modern than competing vehicles. The all pure aluminum used is of much higher quality than the typical plastic. The leather is a "drivers" leather. That is, it is not "slick" leather and was not designed to be. "Noise" is not an issue. The engine is very quiet, the transmission never jerks, even under hard acceleration. Its everything I thought it would be. Strength:
Roomy, comfortable and good handling. Local dealer service is above average.
Weakness:
Central processor went bad @ 3000 miles and took 3 trips to the dealer to resolve. Frustrating, but appears to be fixed. MUST be run on premium gas. Great vehicle to drive. Handles very well for size and wheelbase. Seats are roomy and supportive - fantastic for road trips. Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer, Jeep Cherokee |

Awesome V6 engine/sharp head turning looks/drives like a sports car/good mpg for a SUV
Weakness:
Blind spots/leather looks cheap, looks like it will dry out if not conditioned regularly/no side molding/bumpers looks like it will break off if hit by a shopping cart/no fender moldings A great looking SUV with a strong and efficient engine. Got mine fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Good mileage around town if you know how to use the CVT along with the Fuel mileage display (21.4 mpg/city). Nav system is really great, cant believe someone gave it a weakness rating because you couldnt update while driving, well DUH???,its called "S-A-F-E-T-Y". Overall I really like the it.Could have got a better price if the dealer didnt tack on every "worthless to me/but not to them" on the sticker. Similar Products Used: Dodge Caravan |

Murano SE AWD
Strength:
-Strong good looks -Powerful & smooth drive train -Great luxury/safety options
Weakness:
-Nissan Customer No-Service is worthless -Gas mileage not near rating (17city - 20Hwy) -Cheap interior build leaving squeaks and rattles already on a car with >3000 miles -Cannot use NAV system when car is moving -Stereo system sound quality average at best, 'Bose' name doesn't automatically mean GREAT -Overly rough ride -Not the quality of a Toyota or Honda product -Have to permanently mount license bracket to front of vehicle This is a very nice, great looking not-your-typical SUV. Safety features include available Traction control, brake distribution, curtain airbags. Luxury options include 6-disc in-dash changer, Xenon headlights, NAV System, adjustable petals. It does have some serious weaknesses as noted below. Similar Products Used: Jeep Grand Cherokee Acura MDX |

Gas mileage is false. I only get 18.6mph. Plastic inside. Poor quality seats. Seat belt rubs the plastice. Cheap leather. Loud,Cheap and the tires are too expensive. Mechanic says you have to used premium gas. Nice and roomy. Great stereo. Smooth ride compared to other inexpensive SUV. Would not buy another NISSAN again. Always had a Honda or Toyota and can't wait to get rid of this Nissan. Customer service is terrible. For the price of the Murano, the quality is cheap. Similar Products Used: none |

The bumper can be damaged from claws of a 30 pound dog. You Dog Owners know how a dog puts it's paws on the bumper to be lifted into the back. With this SUV it may be cheeper to ship Fido. If Fido can damage the bumper, well, kiss your rear good-bye if you get hit by another car ! The carpet is cheep! When I placed my son's bike in the back on top of a blanet the carpet got a ridge in it that will not come out. My kids book bag's closed zipper scratched the seat, all my kid did was put it in the SUV as she got in. Gas, I am at 6000 miles, still getting 20.4 miles to the gal. I am a normal parent and dog owner that does everyday thing like the rest of you. This car is a waste of money, it will not hold up to every day use. I am getting rid of mine while it still looks good! P.S. Service for this car sucks big time, the Nissian Company could careless what happens in the Service Dept. or anything else after you drive it off from the lot! If you have kids, dogs or your just a normal person who does every day normal things. Look some were else for a SUV. |

Murano SL AWD
Strength:
- 18"Wheels, - Excellent navigation package. - CVT engine - Ample legroom - Very spacious - Correct height
Weakness:
- Cheap interior plastics - Nissan should have used better leather - Front grill looks cheap - No side guard - Water bottle holder not designed properly. Bottles move around when car turns. - Navigation interface should be touch screen based along with joy stick. Excellent crossover which gives pleasure of driving a car and confidence of SUV. The drive is extremely smooth - no more gear shifiting noises. Great feeling of the road when driving. I have fully loaded murano which is feature wise equivalent to RX300 but about 12K cheaper. As far as performance and stability are concerned, it compares well with BMW X5. Overall I think its the best in its class and can easily surpass expensive crossovers such as X5 and RX300. The only thing nissan should get correct is the positioning of the car. Fully loaded is around 34,000$. People might be inclined to buy RX300 on the high end. On the cheaper models it competes with Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot. This puts the high end model buyers off. Either the car should be positioned for Highlander and Pilot or RX300 and not both. Also on the note of 34K for fully loaded , it is not correctly priced . It should be priced at 29k to 30k for the above mentioned reasons. If you are in market for cross overs , this car is the best bet as of now. Similar Products Used: - Explorer - RX300 - BMW X5 (Test driven) |
