Strength:

For anyone who wants a wrangler, you already know the strengths. The off-road ability is like no other. The street-driving is excellent. Your always the most noticed vehicle on the road. Nice, powerful engine. And of course, if all else fails, there's nothing better than top off, doors off driving.

Weakness:

Of course the gas mileage is not good, but what SUV is. Don't buy if your looking for a trunk and hauling space. The stock stereo is a joke, so get the lowest stock you can get, and then just upgrade yourself. If your reading all this and thinking, "why would anyone want a wrangler?" Just remember, it's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand.

I have wanted a Wrangler since I was 14 and I now finally have one. It is a 2003 Wrangler X "Freedom Edition" which basically makes a "Sport" model. It is bright silver metallic, with full hard doors, black hard top, manual transmission, and a 4.0L I-6 engine. If anyone has ever ridden in a fairly old Wrangler, the ride can just about beat you to death. Well, today's wrangler is as smooth as just about any smaller SUV. My roomate has a 2002 Exterra, and my wrangler rides just as good as his ride.

Strength:

Timeless profile....everyone recognizes a JEEP. Extremely easy to personalize....many options to choose from. Informal jeep owners club (I wave at all Jeeps) Its just so cool!

Weakness:

Could use more power. The ride could be smoother. The engine could be quieter.

A very capable 4x4 that takes moderate abuse in stride. Excellent off road prowess. This machine is capable of traversing extreme terrain when properly outfitted and in competent hands. 8 years and 130,000 miles later this jeep is still running strong. My wrangler tows a 14 foot boat and a 5x10' utility trailer routinely. It is a daily driver that has served my purposes well. The 2.5 litre 4 cylinder engine provides adequate power when kept within its operating parameters. This is a very good 4x4 for the money.

Strength:

-Wrangler is like a B-52 airplane, very adaptable to different times and needs. -Great value; excellent resale.

Weakness:

It has a weakness for its need to find mud after periodic So Cal rain..

The '94 YJ Wrangler, 4 cylinder, 5spd is a fun little ride and it can even manage to move around in Los Angeles traffic with fair efficiency Stock it had an mpg of 18/20. After some modest modifications (mostly just replacement of worn out parts) mileage in the "light" traffic of Los Angeles is 21 city/23 highway, no kidding. Modifications were the following: catback, performance cat, K/N filter, plat 4 plugs, jacobs plug wires, mobil 1 synthetic oil in engine, trans, diffs and transfer case, and "2" (yes "2," of those throttle body spacers by Air Raid) . Why 2 TB spacers? Not intentional, originally; I mistakenly threw out the 3 cylindrical aluminum lifts that came with the first TB spacer; (sure I could have used washers, but...) I ordered a second spacer and installed it; then said what the heck and installed the first spacer on top of the second and made sure that the throttle cable was not inpinged upon by the height of 2 TB spacers; seems to have worked very well; 4 cyl actually has a bit of torque now. YJ supposedly has a 15 gallon gas tank; i removed the artificial restriction in the tank and the gas tank now holds 19.5 (really 20.5) gallons. So I can get a range of 400-430 miles on a tank of 87 octane. I've done some camping in Utah and the unlifted YJ is great in moderate offroad conditions; however I did upgrade to Bilstein Shocks; on and off-road road-holding is greatly improved. Dropped a bit less than $500 on a Garmin GPS V (WAAS-enabled, very accurate) with 19MB for map storage; mounted it in the YJ with a remote mount antennae that sits on the hood. The GPS device is worth its weight in gold! (and that may be a slightly conservative value estimate) You can download street maps for a place like Los Angeles and the GPS will guide you street-by-street to the address that you enter. Anyway, the 94 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl is no Honda Gas/Electric Hybrid in terms of efficiency, but with a few mods and a good GPS it can traverse LA, CA. or moderate offroad terrain without wasting much time (disregarding traffice) or gas. Its 2003, gas is $2.50 a gallon and the Wrangler is still fun.l

Excelent vehicle, Off road 2.5L does fine. Never had to go back to the dealer. Currently have 40K miles. Freeway it does Mountain Highway hill climbs suffers a bit. Best 4X4 I have owned. Got a lot more power out of Throttle body spacer and K&N airfilter. Buy one with a Hard Top (we did)

Weakness:

Soft top flops around a bit

WOW!!! That's all I have to say about the Jeep Wrangler I have a '91 Wrangler S with two hundered seventy thousand miles on it That little four cylinder is amazing! I take that thing through snow rain mountains everything I still get about twenty miles per gallon on a good day with a 5 speed of course Just change the oil every three thousand miles and it will run forever It will outrun any one of those expensive girly SUV's off- road My advice to everyone is to treat her right and she will treat you the same way My friend used to beat his Grand Cherokee and it could take it but the poor tranny fell out the bottom of it (that was a hassle) ALL IN ALL THE JEEPS ARE THE MOST CAPABLE 4X4's on the planet

Everbody wants to ride with me, and how free you can feel in a vehicle when there is no top and no doors.

Weakness:

Not alot of power in a 4 cylinder, bas gas mileage, bad overturn rating, cold in winter.

I can honestly say yeah chicks do dig jeeps,it's something they can play with in the mud, I sure do. I have only had my jeep for a little while, but for now and for a while it kicks ass! But gas mileage sux, could have better shocks, an easier manual that shows how to take off the top,and something inside to lock up valuables.

gas is pretty expensive and since it is an suv it gets to be a pain with the lift it takes the jeep a little more time to get up to speed

Well I got a hard top sahara edition and I enjoy it very much it is awesome in the snow but only when u got the four wheel drive on considering im from cleveland you get to do the occasional donuts in parkinglots at the afterhours and it always seems to be enjoyable i know im only 17 but id like to have my jeep for a lifetime i got a 5 inch lift on her and some 35' herculy radial mudders just recently hooked up with the four-wheel parts gang and got my sticker on the front window but hey also the chicks dig the jeep and there is no if an's or buts about it

Girls love it, Good in the Mud, and the attention it recieves.

Weakness:

Lack of power from the 4 cylinder.

I have always wanted a Wrangler and now my wish has coe true, thanks to a pair of great parents. I have only had my Wrangler for a short span of time but so far I love it. I love how it goes right through the most menacing mud holes and how everyone looks at you when you ride around town. I have added a few extras (32" BF Goodrich All Terrains, 3" body lift, subwoofers, Alpine CD player and speakers) and their are ore that I haven't had time to buy yet. With all this said I couldn't ask for anything ore from my Jeep, except maybe the 6 cylinder instead of the 4.

Awesome look-there is no other SUV like it fairly dependable AC/heat works well and fast everything is water resistant inside convertible top is a pain to get off but worth it

Weakness:

leaks with soft top bad gas mileage high break in rate not much power in 4 cy model

I've loved my jeep. Got it my senior year in high school and have had it for 5 years. I have never had as much fun in any other car as I do in my jeep. Awesome on the beach. All the other SUV's get stuck in the sand and wranglers drive right on by. On a perfect spring day, taking the top off and door off makes driving incredible. However, it leaks whenever it rains ( I just leave the drain plugs out)Also, gotten broken into about five times ( cost me $300 bucks to replace window when slashed; 80 bucks when dashboard got ripped off to get cd player; have small slash in side window right now) Can't leave anything of value in it-and I live in a nice part of town. Bad gas mileage. Always has mechanical problems that come and go so mechanics can't fix it. Not very powerful in the 4 cy. model ( mine max. out at about 80mph and it takes a while to get there)

Strength:

Powerful, great A/C and heat. The cruise control on the highway is a life saver. Fun in the mud

Weakness:

On the highway when it is windy it blows you around a little bit, and slows you down some. Nothing performance intake or exhaust probably wouldn't fix.

Jeep rocks, 02 Wrangler X, goes anywhere and does everything. Only been stuck once(high center). Air conditioning, full hard doors the greatest. Climbs hills, goes through deep mud with no lift, though I want to lift it 4 inches.
