Jeep Wrangler Sahara
Strength:
Colors, driver/front passenger seat comfort, durable and dependable engines, overdrive transmission, elegantly equipped, and unmistakeable good looks!
Weakness:
Gas mileage, gas mileage, gas mileage. By the way, did I say gas mileage??? This is my second Wrangler. My first was a 2000 SE automatic and I had excellent results. I stepped up to the 2004 Sahara this time, due to the larger engine and looks. I have never had the first problem with either Wrangler. Of course, my latest purchase has been very recent. Both have had the Dual Tops and automatic. The color, Light Khaki Metallic, is stunning with the Khaki top! It does not show dirt as easily as other colors and the resale is always high. I can tell the difference in having the 6-cylinder verses the 4. I never felt the 4 was underpowered as many claim. It did well at all speeds for me. But the 6 definitely has greater power/torque...you can really feel it starting off from a stand-still. Fit and finish...well, the new seat design and fabric in the Sahara is beautiful. As a sidenote, I would definitely have the dark tinted windows in a Wrangler, even though they come standard in the Sahara. All in all, the Jeep Wrangler is probably the most unique, long-lived SUV in SUV history. And, the well known body style is about to be history. It got our troops through the worst of bogs decades ago. And, it will outdo ANY, I mean ANY other 4-wheel drive vehicle in overall performance. It was good in the 40's and it's better today. PS...it's also pretty cool to take my beautiful wife of 28+ years to the most expensive restaurants in town, too! Similar Products Used: 2000 Jeep Wrangler SE Ford Explorer |

Strength:
classic good looks, incredible manuverability, removable back seats, just COOL, Great bond shared by Wrangler owners.
Weakness:
OK, Here we go, first of all read my DISCLAIMER: This is a Jeep, Not a Cadillac. My Jeep is a pig on gas, but so is a Cadillac. A little bumpy & noisy but no more than the Ford f250 pickup truck I drive at work. If you're looking for something with a lot of storage space then the Wrangler isn't for you. Just finished my 3rd summer with my Jeep and I'm not sick of it yet (like some said I would be). I've owned 5 Cadillacs in my life but I always wanted a Jeep. I must admit, they're not for everybody, but they sure are for me! There's no better feeling than driving with the top down and the doors off on a warm summer nite or day. Taking down the top and removing the doors takes me 5 minutes and replacing takes me 10; not bad. Today I switched to hardtop and it's like I have 2 vechicles. My brother, having admired mine since I bought it, just got a 2003 and he LOVES it. I've had minimal problems with it and will soon be using it for my 3rd New England winter. Decent heat as it warms up quick because of its small interior. Shifting is a little stiff untill it warms up. Put it in 4 wheel drive and it's GREAT in the snow/blizzards. I plan on keeping my jeep for a long time. ps "Real jeepers do the wave" Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
- Clearance - Power - Durability - Dana 44 Axels!!! - the classic looks - not bogged down with useless computer junk like the hummer
Weakness:
If you know what it is that you are buying then there aren't any. If you don't like road noise, bad gas milage, suspension that always reminds you what kind of terrain you are driving over, lack of power windows then dont buy this vehicle! IT'S A JEEP! What do you expect? I have been obsessed with Jeeps since I was 16. I tried to cover it up by getting a fast Prelude but in the end the offroading was too strong to resist. Now that I got one I swear to never drive anything again! If you are contemplating between a Jeep and a Sports car pick the Jeep (don't make the same mistake that I did) Remember, there are more non-roads than roads! :) |

Strength:
Fun in the sun. Excellent off-road capability.
Weakness:
Gas mileage. Power. Durability. Reliability. Bought brand new. Problems with transfer case from day one, Jeep said normal. Problems with windshields cracking in cold weather. 4 cyl 5 spd models have major transmission faults. Apparently the oil slinger does not lubricate 5th gear and reverse well. Had to put new trans in at 56,000 miles and another at 86,000 miles. Supposedly remedied on 1997 models, but 2nd trans was from a 97 wrangler. Avoid Jeeps! Jeep Wrangler TJ SE
Strength:
Top down, doors off, 4X4 fun
Weakness:
2.5ltr engine struggles at highway speed, but other than that, it is fine. The people who complain about the power, ether have an automatic or can't drive stick properly. The Jeep Wrangler is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is functional as well as fun. It is easy to maintain and can go ANYWHERE. Similar Products Used: 78 CJ-7 |

Jeep Wrangler
Strength:
There are way too many to list.
Weakness:
I just have a few complaints about the TJ. 1. Why did Jeep change the dash from the YJ to the TJ and make it less waterproof. The YJ I had could withstand an oceanside downpour and smile. My first TJ had one major rain and the water shorted out the computer and rendered the Jeep useless for a day and a half till it dried out. 2. Drainplugs. Why is there a drainplug in the driver/passenger side that is placed in an area that is NOT the lowest point? The laws of gravity still exist and water sits in the lowest point with what looks like it could be a drainplug but is painted shut. 3. Mopar changed the material they make the rollbar padding out of in 2003. It is more clothlike. After two times putting on a bikini top, the friction caused by the strap has created a hole in the center hoop padding. I called Jeep, but they said, "Since you used a non Mopar product, we won't replace it." However, Mopar and Bestop both use nylon straps. So their bikini top will ruin the padding too. If you are a "top off" enthusiast like myself, you will run into these things. I love my Jeep. It is the fourth one I have owned. For those of you who are loyal Jeep owners you will understand. I will always have a wrangler. |

Strength:
Great ground clearance. Easy to maintain. It's awesome.
Weakness:
The color black get's dirty. But then again it's not a Jeep unless it's dirty.! I've always wanted a Wrangler, and finally I got one. I've only had it a while, and I LOVE IT! I traded in an old Mitsubishi Galant. Everything that was automatic (windows/locks)in that car broke. But back to the Jeep...I wouldn't trade it in for the world. I admit, I'm not a fan of these huge SUVs thatr un you off the road, but sometimes you want to go where a car won't go. Living in the city of Cambridge has proven to make finding a parking spot difficult. My jeep can fit into spots that my Galant couldn't. If you're thinking about getting a Jeep - go for it, you will not be dissapointed.i Similar Products Used: Nothing is similar to a jeep.c |
