FUN!!FUN!!FUN!!

This vechicle is not practical. Especially hard if you have children and there is NO storing room. Definately made for single people with no children. I can honestly say that I paid way too much for my Jeep. I did the balloon payment and I am more than paying for it now. But I honestly love my jeep. Its strenghts far outway its weaknesses. LIKE THE RIDE OF THE COIL SPRINGS. 6CYL HAS A "LITTLE" MORE POWER, NOT IMPRESSED.
Weakness:
I FOUND OUT THAT MOST DEALERS GO WITH THE STANDARD 307 GEARS IN THE REAR DIFF. ONLY BECAUSE IT DEFAULTS ON THE ORDERS WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO BOTHER TO SPECIFY ANYTHING DIFFERENT. YOU CAN GET 373'S IN THE REAR DIFF AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO IT. IF YOU PLAN ON RUNNING 31IN TIRES OR LARGER YOU NEED THEM. YOU LOSE A LOT OF POWER IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE 373'S. I HAD A 95' WRANGLER 5 SPD FOR THREE YEARS HAD NO PROBLEMS. BOUGHT A 02' WRANGLER X 6CYL 5SP THIS TIME. AFTER 3700 MILES THE REAR MAIN SEAL FROM ENGINE TO TRANSMISSION LEAVES A OIL PUDDLE UNDER VEHICLE. HOPE THIS ISN'T THE START OF A BAD RELATIONSHIP. |

Strength:
I like the body design, durability, seating position, engine access, and the fact that it is a jeep. I also ride harleys. Resale is very good.
Weakness:
Wind noise is a problem in the softtop. The four cylinder lacks power. Cost seems a little high for the base model. I have owned two wranglers. I recommend the hardtop very strongly. The first, a softtop, was sold after 1500 miles...too noisy. The second is a hardtop and is a completely different machine. I find the carpet makes a differnce in noise also. Have no complaints and like the personality of the Jeep. Similar Products Used: Geo tracker, suzuki samari, F-250 4x4 ford, TD-18 international |

BETTER ON FUEL THAN LANDCRUISER DIESEL AND BETTER OFF ROAD WITH MUCH CHEAPER PARTS.GOOD TURNING ABILITY AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. LOOKS GOOD AND IS SO COOL TO DRIVE . PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING IN THOSE LAME LOWERED IMPORT CARS.JUST GO BUY A JEEP AND DRIVE IN BAD STORMS , THEN YOU WILL SEE , JEEPS ARE SO COOL
Weakness:
UNDERPOWERED COMPARED TO INTEGRA , BUT GOOD FUEL ECONOMY FOR A JEEP. LEAKS WATER = SO DO THE 2002 JEEP TJS . NO HONDA ENGINE WEAK TRANNY BUT IT GOES OFF ROAD ALOT SO YOU CANT COMPLAIN . I USED TO DRIVE A ACURA INTEGRA GS. IMPORTS ARE FUN , BUT JEEPS ARE WAY BETTER BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE TO GO OVER 200 K AN HOUR TO HAVE FUN. JEEPS ARE ALSO JUST AS RELIABLE AS ANY IMPORT CAR OR TRUCK BUT YOU YOU SAVE LOTS OF MONEY ON PARTS TO. Similar Products Used: ACURA INTEGRA |

Fun car. Mechanically sound. Good off road.
Weakness:
13-15 MPG in the city, 19 max on the highway. The left turn signal malfunctions sometimes. Don't do the BUY LEASE, please! Not smooth riding, but you should not buy this if you want the ride of a large 4 door anyway! Very good vehicle with no major mechanical problems. Fun car. I got suckered into the "buy lease" which costs lots of wasted $$$$$$$$. Ahhhhhhhhh, live and learn! |

D35C rear, Do i need to say more? The Best Off-Road monster ever created on the face of earth. My little four popper with stock tires on will run with most all the rice burners out there. and in first and second will out run my 2002 RAM with the screamin 4.7 Liter. But the real monster comes out when the tires hit the dirt. Jeep only put 4wheel drive on these things to completely blow the doors off of anything else in the woods with it. It produces hell'a torque in 4low and i know it pull those heavy 1tons out of the mud, done that 4 times, painting them good in the process. what more can I say america's hero. Indestructable! (except to rust) I6 has a LOT of pep. They are very easy to work on for the do-it-yourselfer. you can rebuild the engine without even completely pulling it from the vehicle. They hold their value well (although it can be a pain when you buy one) because the design hasnt gone out of style since the 50's so you will never have a problem selling one. Why would you want to though? More aftermarket accessories than you could imagine! The jeep clubs, jamborees, and Camp Jeep (see you there) :) are awesome to just hang out, eat chicken, and meet other jeep lovers. You have to name it! mine is isabel by the way.
Weakness:
If you plan on lifting an older jeep like mine and installing larger tires.....gas mileage! i burn a gallon for every 7 or 8 miles. Changing the gear ratio helps that out a lot though (my next project) Insurance is outrageous for teenagers or high risk drivers. Older models can be a bit unstable at highway speed. (get a TJ if you travel) Also the soft tops dont offer much security so get a hard top if you have valuable stereo equipment and the like. Lets start off by saying that im a 17 year old guy with an 89 wrangler with the old 258 I6 engine. It's just pushing 170000 miles and despite a few small problems here and there typical for high mileage vehicles, the thing still pulls like it has another 100000 left in it despite the rumor that jeeps dont last long. If you find an older jeep that someone has taken care of, you wont have many problems from it at all if any. But if you are looking to get a jeep take my advice and get a 6! The mere 2mpg you save with a 4 cyl is nothing compared to the increase in power (95 lb/ft more torque, 70 hp more) you get with a 6. They are more fun than any convertible ive ever been in and can go anywhere your little heart desires especially when lifted! I have a ProComp 4in lift with extended shackles and a 1in body lift that clears 33/14 in Super Swamper Boggers easily. If you can get it stuck you are having one hell of a good time. You name it and we've probably dusted it offroading in our jeeps (especially proud z71 owners) :) It also doesnt matter what you do to them....everyone always thinks they are awesome. There are more dents scrapes than i can count from hitting minor obstacles (small trees, other jeeps) while offroading and people still hang all over it saying how awesome it is. When it comes to performance, I6 jeeps definitely well suited. For anyone bent on v-8 power, when it comes to torque (essential for offroading unlike horsepower as many believe) the I6 (inline 6 cyl, not v-6) is the best engine for the average job. The I6 produces 30% more torque than a v-8 of the same size (although gas mileage can remain about the same) If you are looking for economy over offroading performance i would definitely go for the newer fuel injected 4.0 I6 (91-present) The old 258 (4.2) I6 like mine is carbureted and while it is still a monster for torque it doesnt match in horsepower or fuel economy when compared to the 4.0. If you want comfort but still want a truck with balls get a TJ wrangler (97-present). It has much better climate control, looks *cuter* for all the chicks, and has a much more stable ride due to the redesigned suspension system. I think ive said enough for now but if you have any questions at all about the whole wrangler or CJ (pre-wrangler) line feel free to e-mail me and if i dont know the answer i will definitely find out for you. Happy offroading :) e-mail - monguse33@hotmail.com aol screenname - monguse33 Similar Products Used: 89 wrangler 4 banger! the I6 could eat it for lunch 2000 Montero 4wd Driven countless SUV's and nothing compares to the fun you will have in a jeep! |

Strength:
We take some friends and go offroading with the top down at night in midsummer, and it is the most wonderful experience in the world. We're going to spend all winter looking forward to warm weather! But the 4wd is great in the winter, since I tend to get stuck in the snow (woman driver, what can I say?). I don't have much faith in American cars, but so far it's very mechanically sound. Everyone that rides in it loves it, and we always get jealous stares when we drive it. It does wonders for your ego.
Weakness:
It's really thirsty for a little guy (13 m.p.g. if we're lucky) If you're thinking about getting one, get a six-cylinder. Period. They recalled the ignition switch; minor little problems also, like a rotting rubber seal and finicky right turn signal. We're (my bf and I) both nineteen, and the insurance is a real killer. But that's the evil insurance company, not the Wrangler. Our soft top is pretty noisy, and the ride quality is poor. Yeah, it's not perfect, but let me say again that we love it and (except for the payments and insurance) will never regret buying it. Let's be objective...we bought our Wrangler new and the payments are pretty high (always negotiate! We didn't and we regret it); the gas mileage is TERRIBLE and the insurance payment is awful (we're both young); and ours is a four-banger and embarrassingly slow going up hills and pulling out. But to take the top down on a beautiful summer day, or go offroading anywhere you damn well please, it's more than worth every penny! Hate to say it because it's so cliche, but it's a Jeep thing and you won't understand unless you own one. We love it to death and plan to keep it till the wheels fall off. Weakness:
Cargo space! It's a Jeep though, you get what you see. The space thing can be solved with a series of roof racks and tailgate racks. It's a little packed with a 100lb dog and hunting gear. Noisy, only if you break 70 mph or more. Can't complain about anything else. Nothing bad to say about the vehicle. I just turned 100,000 miles with the thing and can't wait to turn another 100,000. Other than the missing luxury, it's a Jeep and would not ask for anything different. Similar Products Used: Ford Bronco II, Explorer, Tahoe |

Little bit small, only for 4 persons Spends a lot of gas in city and highway Very uncomfortable for long trips Some unstable at high speed No power (4 cilynder) on high way Great off road vehicle, It may the best off road vehicle in the world. I used it for everything, go to college, go to work, go to travelin, almost everywhere you can expect, I drove it for 66,000 miles (106,000 km) and I never had a mechanical problem, except caused by off road driving, some loosen pieces that I think there was a minor problem. Great classic value and the best perfomance compared to other pick ups or suv's Jeep wanna be. I put a cargo rack and I can load more than 440 pounds (200 kg).
