Strength:
Excellent power. Good handling for an SUV. Tough construction. Ride is smooth and seats are very comfortable. 4 wheel disk brakes are great.
Weakness:
A little thirsty at the gas pump. Glove box design for non-use. I have had this jeep for just 1 month (2100 km - can't stop driving it) Excellent value vehicle. I was originally shopping for a 4x4 Truck. This ia a tough SUV (larger than most of the competitors) with great power and tow capacity. Similar Products Used: Test drove Nissan Xterra, Ford Escape |

Strength:
Appearance (awesome roof lights) Solid ride and auto features True off-road capable (proven) Quality leather interior
Weakness:
Gas milage is around 15-17mpg Skinny tires (I like 60 series over 70s) Exhaust not not as meaty as V-8 I've owned a Jeep Liberty Renegade for about a month and, let me tell you, it's the best vehicle I've ever owned. It's a Superman of small SUVs. I previously owned a Grand Cherokee Limited, so I'm not new to Jeep's superior off-road character and classy interior. Originally, I had returned to the Jeep dealership to buy a G.C. Overland, but realized it was too expensive for my budget. I'm glad I bought the Renegade, it combines fresh styling with ultra- rugged looks. I have to blush when I see young car enthusiast show their overwhelming approval. Their first question is always, "How much did it cost?" It's aggressive, like owning a little Hummer H2. Similar Products Used: Drove Nissan Xterra, Toyota 4Runner. No other comment |

Strength:
Ride height is great Great looks Plenty of power(not over abundent) Good sound system Loves the off road trips Plenty of room
Weakness:
Lower gas mileage than expected Lack of storage compartments No auto headlamps Well my first Jeep experience is great. I love my 2003 flame red Liberty Sport. It looks like a small suv, but in reality has more room than a S10 Blazer or Cherokee. The independent front suspension makes the ride great, and the solid rear axle keeps it a true Jeep. A nice thing about this Jeep is the ride height, you sit up pretty high which provides a great view. I love the sound system even without the optional Infinity speakers the stereo/cd player rocks. One other cool thing about my liberty is they shipped it from the factory with the polished aluminum wheels, that is a big bonus! Also it came with a cargocover in the rear something that a Sport does not have. I have every option on the Liberty except the power sun roof, and Infinity system so it's pretty well loaded, along with the Limited stuff it came with it is a unique Liberty. |

Strength:
Tuff litte SUV, Good Looking, Nice street ride, Good Visibility and steering radius. Sharp dashboard controls.
Weakness:
None so far ! Just bought my Liberty after returning by 200 Chevy Blazer and love the Liberty! Never took it off-road yet but will next month. The Liberty rides great around town and has a nice highway ride. Gas is O.K. but what can you expect it is a true SUV, and the fuel tank is smaller the most at 15.4 gallons. I don't understand why people buy this SUV and complain about gas mileage, do they realize it is an SUV and has 210 H.P and is constructed for off-road use! Their Liberty's will probably never see a dirt trail or mountain, they should have bought a whimpy car based AWD that is good for wet roads or a little snow. The Liberty is solid and comfortable to drive. The ride is a little bouncy, but it is a SUV. The window controls are great in the center console, same as my SAAB 95, so I'm real used to them from day one. I was considering also the Ford Escape but after seeing the side crash test and how the cab crumpled, I went with the Liberty which held up real well in the same test. And as far as roll-overs, I don't expect to drive my Liberty the same as my SAAB 95. Similar Products Used: Chevy Blazer LS |

VALUE! Saved almost 20% off the list price! LOOKS! Almost too cute to be taken seriously, but offroad it's definitely a Jeep!
Weakness:
Biggest Gripe: not enough foot room for a clutch-using driver! Stick is about 3 inches too far from the arm rest! My first SUV after 20+ years driving trucks, and I am very impressed! My Liberty does not pull to the right, or creak/vibrate excessively, and the paint (bright silver) does not appear to be thin or easily scratched. Manual transmission with the 2.4L 4-cylinder has plenty of power: cruise control on I-65 with the A/C blasting full cold, and it stays locked on 70 MPH, even in the hills around Birmingham! City MPG about 22, and HWY about 24, but should improve after 1-2K miles. Similar Products Used: Tested the Chevy Trailblazer, Ford Escape, and Hyundai Sante Fe. Only a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab made me think twice about buying the Liberty! |

Jeep Liberty Renegade
Strength:
I think the styling of the Liberty Renegade should be considered a work of art. Tons of power, great turning radius, a very comfortable ride.
Weakness:
Minimal cargo space. Awkward placement of window controls on the center console. Thin paint that seems to scratch easily. Chrysler admits the alignment on Liberty's is more difficult to adjust than on other Chrysler made cars. My two week old Liberty has been at the dealership for six days now, and they still can't figure it out even after multiple calls to Chrysler's Tech Hotline. Out of the four I've driven, all seem to have come from a different mold, they're not all the same. This is my second Liberty in three weeks. The dealer agreed in our first sales contract to fix a paint chip on the driver’s side door. They did it by slopping on touch up paint and returned my car 8 hours later. One blemish replaced by another. We asked to be put in another Liberty since it would be another 3 days until they could fix it correctly. We walked around the lot and ended up deciding to pay a little more and bought the Liberty Renegade model. What a mean looking little SUV. They out did themselves styling this one, we've got nothing but looks driving around town. It has plenty of power, and for the price, seems to be a great bargain. Well, it's not. The car went back to the dealer last week because it was pulling really hard to the right, it only has 500 miles on it. They rotated the tires and added some air, and said it was fine after one day. It wasn't fine; it still pulled hard to the right. We took it in on Monday to have the dealer look at it again, it's now Friday, and they still can’t figure out why they can’t get the alignment corrected. In doing some research on the Internet last evening, I realized I’m not alone. I ran across a few message boards loaded with people complaining about this same problem. Our dealer admitted Liberty’s are more complicated to align than any of the other cars in Chrysler’s line of cars, but have also said they also say they’ve never heard of anyone that’s had this same problem? Sounds odd. I gave them the 14-page printout from the Internet that listed numerous people complaining about Liberty's pulling hard to the right. And also just as ironic, the loaner Liberty I'm driving now, also pulls to the right! They say all cars do this, or it's the crown in the road. Then they also say it’s normal, it’s not normal. I'm now trying to get my money back. In short, just be wary to thoroughly test drive your Liberty before purchasing it. I think it’s a great SUV, but Daimler/Chrysler needs to address this alignment issue. Similar Products Used: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2002 Nissan Pathfinder |

Power-- remember its a SUV! looks price performance as a true SUV
Weakness:
overhead thermometer THATS IT! I love this Jeep! I traded in a 96 Town and Country LXI (which by the way is a great vehicle) I have nothing bad to say so far about my Jeep. It did take a while to get used to the position of the window buttons, but that has passed. I opted for fully loaded limited, minus the 4X4. I Dont really plan to take a $24000 vehicle off road! But if I have to I'm sure this one wont let me down. I enjoy the ride its not a car and feels like a SUV. Styling is right on and power is designed for an SUV not a sports car. Stearing is very responsive and breaking is great. Probably the most responsive ABS system I have driven. Inerior design is great. I love the stero controls on the sterring wheel can reach the radio without leaning forward and plenty of headroom. Back seat fits 2 full size adults just fine, and cargo room is awsome. So far the only problem I have had is a very slow to respond overhead thermometer. It will catch up to outside temp but not as quick as the other Jeep/Chyrsler products I own Similar Products Used: First SUV 94 Chrysler Town and Country LXI Highly recomend! |

LOVE the classy look of the interior. Blew away all of the competition in the smaller SUV class.
Weakness:
gas mileage of course. (I'm averaging about 17.5 highway). that seems to be the only really consistent negative comment on this vehicle. I just recently picked up my fully loaded Liberty and I can stop driving it! The moonroof is an added plus for crusing during these lovely summer nights! I love the high feeling of being in a truck with a car like ride. Jeep has once again outdone itself. I think my dog enjoys the ride more than me!
