Strength:

Great Off Road, nice interior, well priced, great head room.

Weakness:

The gas mileage is the worst. The renegade weighs more than the regular liberty which shouldnt be. I am getting like 14-16, city and highway. They should have padded the glove box and center console. If its meant for off-road, no one wants to hear things banging around. The rear lift window, its ok, but I hate seeing my finger prints on the window after i clean it, just to shut it. I think for being the year 2002, and with all the air pollution and gas prices, JEEP should have made a more fuel efficient SUV, its not a excursion or expedition, it shouldn't drink like one. Its an I6, it should be getting better gas mileage than my dad V8 Grand Cherokee, but it doesnt.

I love my renegade, it has a mean look to it over the regular liberty, and the light bar is cool. The interior is nice, all the knobs aren't cheap like most other suv's. Even the O/D button, solid, clicks on and off without any play side to side, thats how you know you have a solid car.

Strength:

All of the vehicle.

Weakness:

Not much glove compartment room. I don't understand the gripe everyone has about the gas milage. On the sticker it tells you. My sticker said 17-20 and I have been getting 20.2 per gallon. So I have no gas complaints.

I love my Liberty. Comfortable. Love the leather.

Weakness:

Not too many. Gas milege is not what I want it to be, but I don't think it's that bad, though. A little noisy when driven at highway speeds.

Great, great vehicle. I love every aspect about this Liberty Sport. I've owned it for about 13 months and have 35,000 miles on it as of today. I like the ride, reliability and the overall looks of the liberty. I also think the liberty is a great value. I owned a POS '98 jeep cherokee, not Grand cherokee before this and it was ALWAYS in the shop for reliability problems. This liberty, however, tells a different story. It;s far more reliable and all I basically do is regular maintenence when needed. All I can say is I'm happy and I think Jeep did the right thing by replacing the cherokee with the liberty.

Turning radius, 4 wheel low (got me out of a sand trap, tow capacity, leather heated seats sound sysyem and cool look.

Weakness:

Factory racks are overpriced and only hold 100lbs (go w/the Thule racks), gas milage and lift kits void factory warranty.

Real happy w/this car. I test drove a fully loaded Xterra a Ford mini SUV (forgot the name) and a Suburu Forester before deciding on the Liberty. The Liberty beat them all hands down!

Strength:

Good looks. Power and Off-road ability. Comfort and style. The leather seats fit us very well. Stereo sounds great, but my daughter things it does not get loud enough.

Weakness:

Sucks gas like no tomorrow. I've done the maint. on every vehicle I've driven since I was 16. But the location of the oil filter is just idiotic. I guess I will be taking this one in every few months.

My wife wanted a new car. I gave her a price range and told her to pick what she wanted. I knew I married a smart lady. I have had several wranglers in the past, but with two children and a dog, we needed something a little more civil. I can't say enough about this Jeep. Good looks, ample power and weather proof!! We take cross country trips and are happy with the comfort and the road manners. We have gone trail riding several times and i have been very pleased. Its still to new for me to try anything to drastic, but I'm sure I will soon. Worthy addition to the Jeep line-up.

Turning radius, pick up, looks fun and IS fun to drive, and has the great Jeep standard behind it.

Weakness:

Wish there was a dome light or floor lamp in the rear seat.

We love our Jeep! We have a little over 8,000 miles on it already. Everything inside is conviently located. Our kids (1 & 3) can see out the windows well. Our last car was a Honda Accord, so we miss the great gas mileage. However, we enjoy being up higher. We love the pick-up on it as well, we can pass anyone. The turning radius is amazing! Reversing a trailer will be a piece of cake! The brakes are great too. We have done a little off-roading and you would be hard pressed to get stuck! I had it on an icy boat launch and the rear wheels were spinning; I popped into 4WD and I was fine. It rides much smoother than the Jeep Cherokee. I like the eye catching design and fun color options (we have the cactus green). I would love to have more reasons to use the 4WD...maybe this winter in the snow! This vehicle is worth a second look.

Weakness:

Still looking, 18,000 miles and have yet to see one.

Wonderful vehicle to drive. Have a one hour commute each way to work and have a good time when driving the jeep. Jeep has put the Wrangler off road with the ride of the Cherokee together with this vehicle. Gas mileage is the same as my '92 Toyota 4x4 truck that also has a V6, so the gas mileage is okay. Great handling offroad, easily handled the dirt roads throughout the Sierra Nevadas with no problem. I would recomend this to anyone looking for a smaller SUV.

Strength:

The perfect size of the vehicle for most every use I need. Great audio system with optional 6 Infinity speakers system. The suspension system is just great for on and off roading, it feels like Bilstein system. The response from engine (powerful) is precise and smooth. The steering is rough enough and smooth when needed.

Weakness:

Really small glove compartment that I even can't put manual in. Somewhat expensive in comparison to USA price (well, the Mexican government only wants to charge you taxes and taxes for everything that you can imagine and you can't). It spends more gasoline than I thought about, but this vehicle is a V6 SUV and 4x4, so I think the gas mileage is fair.

Great SUV, it's may the best SUV around here, I think it was little expensive to be 4x4 sport version but came with full option except cd changer, and well in Mexico everything is more expensive than in USA. I previously owned a Jeep Wrangler 98 and the new Liberty is like a sedan + wagon + Jeep = therefore Liberty. The feeling at driving is so smooth and secure that I think it has a perfomance that is as good as my father's Volvo S80.

Great veycle, makes me feel secure, solid and tigth, roads fine on sand, would be better with specialiced tires. On road handling is superb for a SUV, windy roads are a joy on this truck, as well as city trafic. Well balanced abilities.
