Strength:

tight turning, accelerates beautifully and breaks perfect. parking is easier than with a car, the size is perfect-no too big not too small. all controls are easily accesible by driver.

Weakness:

loves to drink up the gas. I don't mind, because of it's perfomance it is well worth it.

I absolutely love it. I was afraid of it's size at first, never having driven an suv but i was pleasantly surprised by the smooth ride, the easy turning and the ease it is to park. before this jeep i drove a family wagon and compared to this the jeep is a cinch to park. i recomend it to anyone interested in a SUV, jeep has outdone themselves.

Strength:

Styling, handling, tight turning radius. Super towing capacity given its price and size.

Weakness:

Gas mileage. Window switches are a bit annoying until you get used to them.

I was skeptical at first initally making the jump to an SUV from my impractical Honda Accord Coupe but I don't regret for one second that I did. Love the car like ride and how well it handles and responds. Turning radius is amazingly tight as well. This is the best priced vehicle that you can get to tow 5000 lbs., which was a main selling feature for me. Plenty of cargo room. Comfortable seating in the back seats. Gas mileage was a bit of a shock coming from a Honda, but it is to be expected. This is a great go anywhere, do anything vehicle that works for the city , the mountains, and towing all of your toys from one to the other.

Strength:

4wd, offroad capability. Lot's of cargo room.

Weakness:

Window switches in center console. Poor Gas milage.

Fun to drive, lots of room. Wife loves the security of driving an suv. I can't wait to take this thing off roading. In winter with 4wd on and the anti-lock brakes it handled like a dream. Gas milage sucks! Only getting 15 mpg in city maybe 16 on the highway no where near the 20 they claim on the hwy.

Strength:

This is an unstoppable off road vehicle. I don''t mean off pavement, I mean old, abandoned washed out trace of a road vehicle. We are amazed by this vehicle’s ability every time we hit a new trail.

Weakness:

1.) Gas mileage so terrible I find it insulting. I get an average of 16.5 m.p.g. 2.) The paint is very thin. Light brush easily puts deep scratches down the length of the vehicle.

Our Liberty now has over 15,000 miles on it. This is a great road trip car that is very comfy, smooth and quiet. Everything still works like it was new, and there have been zero repair issues. With that out of the way, I want people to realize that this is not a performance car; anybody that is looking to be trendy and never actually take the car off road might want to look at something else. Although it has a good-sized gas-sucking engine, I would rate performance as “just enough.” By that I mean that it can climb any hill, get out of its own way, but it is never even remotely exciting. The main reason, like others have written, is that it weighs over 4000 pounds. The braking and the turning ability are fine for a car with so much mass so high. I believe that Jeep has made a very good balance between a real off road vehicle and something to go and get groceries in. I am very happy with my Liberty and would by it again if I were to do it all over again.

Strength:

Power, luxurious interior, fit & finish, smooth ride, solid feel, high driver''s position for incredible visibility.

Weakness:

None so far except this baby loves to drink the gas.

This is my first SUV and I must say that Jeep has set the standard again. I have driven other small SUV''s and I''m glad I decided on the Liberty. This vehicle is aesthetically beuatiful and it runs like a champ. The interior is the nicest in its class. When you hit the gas, this baby just takes off, belying its phenomenal weight of over 2 tons. The engine is so smooth, it''s hard to tell that it''s even running. My wife is somewhat nervous to drive this vehicle because of its size, it looks huge when standing next to it. I tried to reassure her that it would be a pleasurable experience. However, now I dont know if I want her to drive it. I''m afraid she won''t want to drive her car anymore. Anyway, I''ll fall off that bridge when I come to it. Manhattan Jeep has proven to be one of the better dealers in NYC. They sold me this car at invoice price, and the whole buying/delivery process was more painless than I expected. I highly recommend this vehicle to anybody in the market for a small/mid-sized SUV. You will not be disappointed. Haven''t gone off-road yet, but that''s another bridge to fall off of.

Strength:

Sharp looks inside and out (love it or hate it) Tough, Durable and capable. Smooth running (good power, despite reviews saying it''s heavy... c''mon... it''s not a car!) Love the centre console mounted window controls... passenger can close back windows if driver''s hands are busy.

Weakness:

Roof rack should come farther forward... can be difficult to access rear portions of rack. Rear seats can''t be folded flat. Could use more storage compartments in rear area and around driver.

We were the first folks in Toronto to put in an order for a Jeep Liberty and we have not been disappointed. This is one tough vehicle. A true Jeep - more civilized than a TJ, but not as overbearing as a Grand Cherokee. So far it has fared very well off-road (river crossings, brush, rocky tracks, mud & snow), in the city and on the highway. Very classy and capable for the price.

I test drove the following before settling on the Jeep Liberty... Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute (nice but not tough, the Mazda started blowing smoke into the passenger compartment during the test drive!)

Strength:

Visability is great, haven''t noticed any blind spots yet, has some power (better than other SUV''s I test drove). A lot of fun to drive, heat works too well. Handles extremely well. Comfortable seats, plenty of leg room. Small size is great for parking is small spots. Factory installed darker tint is quite nice.

Weakness:

Sound system, pick up (forget about passing a mid-size car on the highway), gas mileage. Sharp turns impossible at high speeds you almost have to come to a dead stop.

So far so good. Have almost 1,000 miles and no problems so far (better than my last car). Being higher up takes some getting used to especially if you used a sports car. Car runs great, but is terrible on gas miles. I find myself filling up three times a week. Sharp turns aren''t taken well in this model at all. Turns that I used to take at 60 or 80 I''m now doing at 30. Pick up is a joke, a Yukon flew passed me on the highwayt, its way to heavy to have any pick up. You could problably do 0-60 in about 20 seconds. But once moving manuvering is pretty easy. Bumps, potholes, craters in the road are no problem run right overthem without barely noticing them. The premium sound package is absolutly awful I paid an extra 800 to upgrade to a 2 band equalizer save your money. Not many available options for the sport model. Power, leather or heated seats are not an option, neither are daytime running lights. But all in all, its quite cute, a lot of fun on the road and off.

looks, drivetrain, reliability, comfortable ride are the main strengths

Weakness:

Not too many other than only 16-20 miles per gallon of gas.

All I can say is that this is a superb small SUV. I aleady have just under 3,000 miles on it and has been trouble free. It really is alot of fun to drive, though the gas miledge could be a tad bit better. I really see a good future in my Liberty.
