Strength:
4 wheel disc brakes, audio system, looks, power, spacious, handling and brakes, tough vehicle
Weakness:
A major disadvantage to me is the absence of vent. This means there is no way to get air inside (when the windows are closed) the car without turning on the blower. This is by design. Bumpy and rough ride. I was going for Land Rover Freelander S but eventually bought this Jeep considering price/performance and looks. I bought this one with 17 inch allow wheels without ABS. This is my first suv. So far I drove around 700 miles without any problem. The engine is smooth, powerful and the ride is bumpy. I mean, it responds to every bump and minor roughness of the road and this is supposed to be the "feel" of this truck. The seats are comfortable. The standard audio system is really good if you consider "Bose" as a measure. Handling is good and I have never felt any rolling over tendency in fairly aggresive maneuvers which is a nice and pleasant surprise. I am yet is test its off-road 4x4 capability. The glove compartment is really small. There is no handle is rear glass to pull it down so you will always leave your finger prints in the rear glass to close. Similar Products Used: none |

The fuel mileage STINKS. I am getting nowhere near the 28mpg on the sticker. More like 13-18 depending on city or highway. My 1997 Dakota gets 26 so it is usually the vehicle of choice. A great vehicle. My third jeep. Looks great, runs great. |

Jeep Liberty
Strength:
Interior and exterior are sturdy and well built. It's a very heavy vehicle and I can't wait to drive it in snow!!
Weakness:
Nothing yet!! I just bought my Jeep Liberty - I love it!! I feel safe driving it. It's large enough for my family and all the cargo space I would ever need. Compared to some of the vehicles that I have owned or test driven I found it far above the rest. Similar Products Used: Dodge Durango, Kia Sedona, Suzuki Samari - all rented or test driven. Owned a Nissan Sentra that was NOT good in snow because it was too light. |

Strength:
Styling, it a JEEP, very capable performer, decent power.
Weakness:
Slight pull to the right, had it address at the dealer and it still pulls a little. Plastic door panels could be of better quality build. Overall, I love my Jeep Liberty. Very stylish and capable. Enjoy the midsize, while not really sacraficing in interior space. Gas consumption is what was expected, no surprise. After all it is listed on the sales sticker. Very comfortable ride. Perfect size for me and my adventurous lifestyle. Similar Products Used: Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee |

Strength:
Interior & exterior design. Head & leg room in both front and back seats. V6 power is awesome. Tracking - this vehicle stays on center - no pulling.
Weakness:
None. Some people complain about the gas consumption and I admit that it doesn't get great gas mileage but I knew that when I purchased it and so I am not disappointed in the vehicle for it. I love my Jeep Liberty Sport! This vehicle offers a comfortable quiet ride that tracks dead center down the road. The exterior and interior are amazingly stylish yet practical. I find all the controls very easy to reach while driving. I also love the roomy interior - plenty of leg room in the front and rear seats (a must when you have teenagers riding in the back seat). The cargo area is a plus with a wonderfully functional back window and door (I like how the window "pops" open for easy access). After driving a Geo Prism the power of the Liberty is a welcome change. This winter will be my first winter with my Jeep and I can't wait to "try it out" on the snow packed icy roads. I feel confident that it won't let me down. Other strengths include the stereo system, the turning radius and the fold down rear seat. I haven't had this vehicle long but so far, I love it! In general, a nice SUV. I do have to agree with several of the previous reviews about the Liberty pulling to the right. I have had my jeep a year, and I am still having problems getting it aligned correctly. I have had quite a few minor problems - every once in a while the back gate will refuse to open, which happens to usual correlate with the times when the overhead light decides to turn itself on and off every two minutes or so. Also, have had a leak in the transfer case, and right now am dealing with a horrible horrible squealing noise coming from somewhere - I am sure wind is coming in somewhere, as I cannot take the Jeep on the highway at over 60mph without being driven insane by the squealing noises. No one can seem to fix it... I do have to agree also with the sentiment that Jeep is also not known for its stellar customer service. Trying to get the car fixed is a hassle and, maybe it is because I am a woman, but they just don't want to listen to you. They don't even do the bare minimum, much less going above and beyond good customer service, which is what I had hoped for. Also, I have the v-6, and even with that, pick up is a little sluggish. I live in the mountains, and sometimes it is frustrating having crappy 1970's beaters pass you on the inclines. Even with all this, I do love my little Jeep, and once the problems are sorted out, I hope to continue to enjoy it for years to come. I just wanted to make people aware of some of the more common problems with the Liberty so you can make an informed decision. I would, however, recommend the Liberty - just be aware of the issues. |

Strength:
Style and head room.
Weakness:
everything that makes it function. will never buy a jeep again. Less than 40,000 miles and it’s been in the shop 8 times! AC leaks in passenger side, belt squeaks, dashboard flickers! Huffines said the AC is manufactures fault, but I have to pay for it! Pissed off? shelleyhampe@hotmail.com Similar Products Used: na |

Strength:
Looks nice; relatively well equipped and good capablilities in adverse weather.
Weakness:
High petrol consumption but otherwise what I expected. Great experience with my first liberty but glad to get out of my current. Bought one when they first came out - good experience until upgraded to fully loaded car a year later. Since then have had nothing but problems with shaking at 70-75mph - even my Thule bike rack reverberates. Seems not to be an isolated problem with my car - currently awaiting buy back and looking forward to ridding myself of this lemon. Dealership not helpful and actually found to be obstructive. Similar Products Used: first and probably last suv - will not buy chrys/daiml/jeep product again. |

Strength:
Looks, ( specially after i installed the 2 hella's in the front ;)) , style, confort, overyhting about this truck is great.
Weakness:
gas mileage could be a little better, im getting 16-18 mpg city/high., very small glove compartment....thats it! I always wanted a wrangler , i even went to check it out at the dealer a couple of times, but then when the liberty came out i decided to buy the Liberty. It has the wrangler looks, more space and a little more civilized. I got the sport in bright silver, with the crome grill, side steps, tailight covers, looks really great. I installed 2 hella off road lights in the front bumper, which gives it a more offroad style. Im really happy with my Liberty, and i really recomend for someone whos looking for a small SUV that u can park everywhere and have lots of fun driving it!
