Strength:

Powerful V8, added a new intake and exhaust, sounds amazing and DYNO tested at 303HP, 377 lb/ft. Ultra comfortable seats, nice sound system, beautiful interior, the glossiest black paint Ive seen on a domestic vehicle, amazing overall package.

Weakness:

Gas milage (I knew what I was getting into) but with a gallon of premium at almost $2, it stings.

The '04 Overland is a dream to drive. I've only had it for about two weeks and I cant get enough of it. On-Road handling is excellent for an SUV, and I cant wait to play in the snow next winter. If you are looking for a mid-size SUV or an SUV at all, this is it, in cabin luxury that isnt rivaled by any other SUV and a distinctive look that is solid as a rock.

Dependability, nice system, tough

V6 could use a little more horsepower

I LOVE THIS TRUCK! It's big enough to fit all my friends and junk but not as big as say, a Suburban. Great offroading, in snowstorms and mud. I have pulled other SUVs out of mud with my Jeep. I hope to purchase a new one soon and I hope it's as great as this one.

Strength:

Reliability. Style. Performance in bad weather (rain or snow).

Weakness:

Could be a bit more powerful and have a little better pick up (but hey, it's a truck not a sports car!).

Overall, this is a pretty good truck. Been through two major snowstorms with it and it hasn't had any problems where other trucks have. In fact, during the last storm I saw a garbage truck plowing our development get stuck and I didn't have a problem at all! My Jeep has about 150,000 miles on it and it still looks and runs as good as new. When I purchased this truck I was unsure if I wanted the 8 cylinder or the 4.0 straight 6 cylinder. I decided to go with the less powerful 6 cylinder due to the fact that it is the most well balanced engine that chrystler makes. We have replaced a few parts over the last few years but nothing major (yet!!).

Strength:

Very comfortable, reliable, good looking truck.

Weakness:

V6 engine not as powerful as I would like.

I bought my Jeep for $5,200 off of Ebay. It had 46,000 miles on it and now it's at about 90,000 miles. I love this vehicle! Haven't had any problems with it, and It has held up amazingly well. It's been to Vegas twice, L.A. 3 times, and San Antoino once. I was holding my breath for a while (being $5,200 and all), but all my fears have been aleviated. I'm about to buy a new Grand Cherokee, I hope it holds up as good as this one!

Strength:

Good stereo controls on steering wheel.

Weakness:

Brakes changed frequently. Transmission sensor. Rear differential bad. Cooling system is shaky. Had to change the blower motor twice. Had to change transfer case before 100K.

This is my second Jeep prduct and I must say that I am very disappointed with its reliability. I had a 94 Wragler and had no major problems even with 150K miles on it. I thought that the Grand Cherokee would be just as good but I have had problems with it from year one.

Strength:

Off-Road performance is really very good with decent off-road tires. My jeep has proven to be a survivor.

Weakness:

It is not exactly a chick magnet.

I have driven my jeep for 9 years now and put 200,000 miles on it so far. I have done many long distance trips to numerous national parks all over the country. I did a long trip to Canyonlands NP once, and I don't think I took it out of low-range gear for a week - I was never able to get all the red dust out of the air conditioner. This car has earned my grudging respect. Nothing broke until it was beyond 100K miles. Over the second 100K, I had to replace the water pump, gas pump, the catalytic converter, oil pressure sensor, transmission failed at about 150K miles, exhaust manifold cracked at 180K miles, replaced the battery wiring. I like Bridgestone Desert Duelers, I put on a new set every 50K miles whether it needs it or not. I hope to put another 100K miles on it. I honestly don't know why it has not died on me yet... I think it has a soul.

None. Well, I did rent a Ford Explorer once in Denver, and then got it stuck on the 4x4 trail in Great Sand Dunes NM.
