Weakness:
Wind noise The Jeep Cherokee is the best SUV (if you can call it that) built. For around $20K, you get a vehicle with loads of power (4.0L engine), room for 4 or 5 adults, the best capability of any stock 4x4 and an engine that truns virtually forever. Similar Products Used: We also own a 98 Jeep Wrangler. The Cherokee is more practicle for a family vehicle and can go anywhere the Wrangler can when off-road. |

Great overall performer can go anywhere and still have power to city and highway drive
Weakness:
Wind and interior part noise As a stock machine it was a thing of beauty. I never got stuck in the harsh winters and was always on the go. The only comment I can say negative was the wind noise and interior noise. A few bolts fixed the interior noise so all is well now. Similar Products Used: None |

The 4.0 .The low CG . Size is perfect. Easy to get parts when you need them at around 200,000 miles. Good gas mileage.Never Rust.
Weakness:
Wish it had an Airbag switch to turn them off. I have nailed 3 Dear with my Comanche.Needs I love this truck. The high ground clearance with low CG makes this thing Similar Products Used: I haved owned a Mitsubishi Montero. It was good offroad but parts were high and it was gutless. I haved owned a Bronco II. It was reliable But would shake your teeth right out of your head on a rough road. |

Motor and size make it fun to drive, can root with the best of them!I managed to cram 30x9.50's under mine and it will go just about anywhere.
Weakness:
Brakes suck. Blew the transfer case out of it at 50,000 miles just riding down the road ($2300) for a rebuilt one and a new front driveshaft. Kinda small when riding four deep. Rear spring are sagging terrible at 69,000 miles. Overall a good truck, somewhat chessy build quality, but makes up for it, because it is easy to use and operate. Fun to drive and blow donuts out on the beach and in fields. Motor is perfectly matched to the chassis. Similar Products Used: Explorers,Blazers (both s-10 and full size) Z71's |

True 4x4! Lots of power at 2 or 4 wheel drive. Tows like a dream. Plenty of room!
Weakness:
Brakes are a bit weak. I've had few problems with my Jeep. It has taken me everywhere it promises, and then some. The Cherokee is an indistructible "TRUE" four wheel drive vehicle. It will be sorely missed in the Jeep line-up. Similar Products Used: NOTHING compares to Jeep! |

off road ability, 4.0 high output, overall dependability, 91 and above fuel injected, stay away from 90 and below carborated Jeeps. Timeless Looks (can't tell that it is almost 10 years old.)
Weakness:
Cat converters, rear axiles, Interior noise (although it is almost 10 years old) Ive driven almost everykind of car and by far this Jeep has been the most dependable. I have 203,000 miles on it (city and freeway) and I have only replaced the cat converter.($146.00) I live in So Cal and drive with the "freezing air" on ALL THE TIME, it never overheats even on trips up the mountain to Big Bear(approx 8000ft elevation) I am not fond of Chrysler products, but unlike the rest of thier line-up, they have done well with the cherokee. I guess that's why they have discontinued it. (idiots) Or mabye that was Mercedes idea. The only thing I can say good about it is:Engine and drive train gives fair service. The rest around that is junk.
Weakness:
Chrysler has built in obsolescence or better put-to self destruct after so many miles. Then watch out when you go to the Chrysler dealer to buy their overpriced parts that fail soon after they are put to use. I have a Jeep Cherokee and I would never buy another one.1.Poor brake system-even after shop repair the rear brakes never properly work,2.cracked and broken exhaust system I decided to weld the exhaust manifold and save 350.00-400.00,3.poor cooling system small radiator and a poorly designed overflow bottle that leaks even after replacing with a new one.4.seat frames crack and come apart these I also welded.5.Radio never works properly.6.Chrysler must have put the old Rambler doors on their Jeep products because they close hard.7.Heater is inadequate in cold weather.Chrysler parts are expensive and fail not long after I purchased them. Similar Products Used: All American products have much to be desired.I am considering buying a foreign vehicle next. |

Weakness:
Transmission, Ergonomics, Easily broken into, American "Quality" Engineering, Dealers 4Door, 4x4, I6 - The standard transmission rattles in neutral. It's brand new! The crook of a dealer refuses to do anything and the the service shop claims "that's the way Jeeps are..." Liars. You can feel the transmission lurch into gears. Since my family works in the auto industry I should know better, but was lured by the price. Here's the rule: NEVER BUY AMERICAN. You'd think that they could get the engineering right after having the same model for over a decade. Similar Products Used: Isuzu Trooper, Nissan XTerra, Nissan Frontier |

great off road, excellent climate controls, can pull a lot
Weakness:
Dont ask me, I like everything about it This vehicle has been great. Has 150,000 miles and it and runs like no tomorow. The 4 Wheel Drive is superior to any other stock vehicle in the world. And dont object by saying 'what about the Hummer' because they use the same 4WD system. The 4.0 is really fast too Similar Products Used: None |

Laredo
Strength:
Excellent power, able to offroad without fail, excellent suspension, superior to any other offroader in its class
Weakness:
Gas mileage could be better, parts are a bit high but excellent in quality, interior room somewhat cramped This has been the greatest purchase I have made. My Laredo has the 4.0 no H.O. engine, 4 speeed AW4 transmission, and is running 235/75 tires. It has performed flawlessly, needing just minor repairs in the past 6 months. It is in remarkable condition, both running and physical considering the 133,000 miles it has on it. I wouldn't trade it for another vehicle if you paid me. An excellent all around vehicle, too bad DC had to release the KJ to replace it.
