Wind noise... I cannot stress how much I love my Jeep! The ONLY problems I had was it burned oil REALLY bad. Turns out, the previous owners hadn't changed the oil for 70,000 miles. Once everything was cleaned out, it ran perfectly. The 4x4 is great! Never had a bit of problems in the snow. Towing capability is great! I pulled a 2 ton car over some trees and up an incline at idle, never touched the gas! The jeep is also very fast, to be an SUV. 0-60 in around 7.5 seconds. Inside, it's confortable. Seats are soft, enough room for 5 adults. Good cargo space with the seat down or removed... Similar Products Used: Mazda Tribute, Chevy Blazer |

Durable, reliable and wonderful to drive.
Weakness:
Nothing that I can speak of. Yes there is wind noise but it's a Jeep what would you expect, it's not a car, if you want a a car; buy a car. My first Jeep purchase occured in September of 1992. I bought a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer for $10,500, it was grey and I grew to love it very much. When I iniitally purchased this vehichle it had 68,000 miles on it. It was a one owner vehichle and after the purchase I accidentally met the people who owned it before me through a friend. They had nothing bad to say about the vehichle. I don't either. I drive 50 miles one way to work and after 175,000 miles the transmission started to go. That was my first and only problem. I replaced the transmission for $2500 and never looked back. Sometime after that I hit a deer on my way to work and it hardly put a dent in the panel. It drove wonderfully (I'm a little deaf so the wind noise isn't an issue) right up until the moment I sold it to a friend at 263,000 miles. It still runs now with over 300,000 miles and very little repairs other than regular maintenance, such as new battery, brakes, tires, ect. I was really afraid of buying another since Chrysler had taken over Jeep, but I did. My next purchase was the 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country, for $12,475. It wasn't my Pioneer, but it was nearly identical. It is black. I bought this one with 52,000 miles for $12,475. It had a ding in the back bumper but that's cosmetic, and I don't care to much about the cosmetics of it, how does it drive and is it reliable is my main issue. The answer is that it drives great and has yet to fail me. A few months ago the driver's door hinge failed and the door fell off. Cost me $300 to repair, but it was a one day process and really simple thanks to Louisville Frame and Fender. It now has 189,000 miles on it. With regular maintenace and some love and care I hope this will last me 300,000 or more. Especially since Chrysler screwed up and discontinued this vehichle. I hate the look of the Liberty and the Grand is too much like a car for my taste. I will probably end up buying a Wrangler but only time will tell. Maybe I can find a good used one when my time comes to buy a new one...or maybe I will keep this one forever. I don't think you can go wrong with a Jeep. Strength:
Heavy duty, durable vehicle. Great for off-road or for modifying. Perfect size, seats 5 and has enough room, but still small enough to maneuver in and out of traffic easily. Awesome power in the stock 4.0L engine. 5-speed shifts roughly.
Weakness:
Door hinges are a little weak. Not the most comfortable ride (what serious 4x4 is?). Great vehicle! Love it for off-road. Easy to modify. Tons of aftermarket products available. No reliability problems so far. Have owned two '93 Cherokees for a little over two years. Water pump went out on the first one at 135,000 miles. It got in a wreck so I bought another with 80,000 miles. The new one now has 89,000 miles and haven't had a problem. Similar Products Used: Chevy S-10 Trucks |

Good Torque, very good handling and response, 4wd hi & lo do their jobs well. DEPENDABLE, all accessories are still working well. Rear passengers are comfortable. good storage space. 24 mpg, wow!
Weakness:
Must downshift on long, steep grades. Rountine maintenance costs slightly higher. Question towing capacity (haven't tried, yet) Have owned and driven daily for 2 1/2 years on hwy., in city, and offroad in desert, mountains, snow, rain, and sand. Never been stranded in any situation. This is our first Jeep and will be our next purchase. No modifications, stock tires, 5 spd., 4 ltr straight 6, A/C. Love it and so does my wife! seems a "fragile" car After 1.5 years of use, my vehicle is in the shop with "transmission problems" code 1762... As a single woman living in Mexico, I traded in my Voyager for what I hoped was a reliable, sturdy car. |

Over 170K miles and still has great pull off the line. When pushing it, I can actually chirp going into 2nd!
Weakness:
I pulled up the carpet in the back of the Jeep. I have had to patch up rust holes which were in several spots. The water ruined the padding under the carpet, so I took that out. I love my Jeep. I bought a 4.0 Strait 6 5-Speed Jeep. I am currently at 170,000+ miles and still take it off roading and dropping into 4WD. I took it to college this winter in VT and worked great in the snow. I am currently adding a Class B tow hitch and going to tow my 21' boat. (Hopefully) Can't seem to break this thing. |

The power and realiability from the 4.0L. The looks. How it rides and handles.
Weakness:
Too much wind and road noise. Well first of all, Gary's Auto Sales is the best used car dealership i have ever seen...Wonderful service, Polite people, and they don't cheat you. OK on with my Jeep, I love it! It is bright red and has only 35,000 pampered miles. It has red running boards, (very rarely seen on a cherokee) Red mud flaps, and a red grill. It has a wood trimmed dashboard and power everything. It has so much power from the 4.0L and it sounds awsome. It handles great and rides really nice for a suv. Stereo, back seat room I loved my Jeep until I started having a swarm of problems with it. First at 3months old and not even 3500 miles, Jeep had to pull the transmission out and replace a gasket as transmission fluid was leaking. Now, its been recalled, but moreso the problems are crazy, steering column shakes like crazy between 45 and 65 MPH, front end shakes rapidly when quick braking or braking at elevated speeds, the rear brakes stick and will cause a jolting when accelerarting from being stopped, the brake pedal squeeks, and the gas tank will not allow a full tank, more like 95% full.
