The interior room is unbelievable. I am 6'4 and have plenty of leg and head room with a baby seat behing me. Very easy to use 4-wheel drive system, and dash display. The back open up very nicely and the spare tire is mounted on the outside that increases cargo room.

Roomy. reclined back seat is a great plus for kids. big cargo area even with the back seats. I love 70/30 back cargo door. 5000 lbs towing capacity beats most of V6 Suvs in the market. Why did consumer report lie about this suv? I found that this SUV is very stable even at 75 mph. If you want to drive fast then you better get BMW.

first gear and second gears are rough no xeon headlight.

One of the best 4wd SUV period.

Pllllenty of room, heated seats are nice on cold days. Quiet running. Sharp looks, very well constructed - nothing falling apart with 120K miles. Rock solid brakes/steering. Decent power considering the mass.

OK it drinks gas but I'd rather wrap my family in 4500 pounds of steel and pay more at the pump. TOTALLY blows away the Jeep I drove in terms of construction, ditto the 4Runner on rice.

Was looking for a cheap SUV and am shocked at what a great value this Trooper is. Runs quiet and silky, great brakes, handles well, all the bells and whistles for a LOT less than comparable SUVs.

Lots of torque; love the DOHC giddyap and sound; huge inside without being too big; very comfortable upright seating position, impeccable build quality.

Gas mileage could be better - low 14 mpg, high 17 mpg.

Fantastic vehicle, especially after I changed the shocks out and installed poly bushings on the sway bar. Got $8000 off list.

More features then other SUV's in its class for the price. Great 4x4 sytem. 4 wheel disc breaks on all models. Lots of room, suprisingly smooth ride for an SUV

fuel mileage 20mpg max on a good day.

So far I've had a great experience with my 2000 Trooper S, I looked at other mid sized SUV's of its age and either they were way too expensive, didn't have the features or gutless. The 3.5 liter 215 HP engine runs great and I know that if I have to get out of trouble it is there to do that. I was very impressed with the interior, other mid sized SUV's either had way too soft seats or I could tell they wouldn't stand up to the abuse of getting in and out of the truck. I've been on 4 1000 mile+ trips in the past 6 months and it drove just fine. I love the Torque On Demand 4 wheel drive.

Power! 4cly, brakes, Gas milage

Overall Great SUV lot's of room for a family of five, I have the 4cly and I wished I had the 6cly the power is lacking with the 4 and the uphill to the ski slopes is a long drive with the 4 over all I have 187,000 miles and other than regular mant. I have replaced the brakes ( Disc) front three times and the it's time agian I don't know why but I have asked the dealership why and they don't know but I will keep replacing them. I rebuilt the engine about 20k ago and it runs great the one thing to remember is that the gas mileage is poor average around town is 14 and about 16 on the hwy. other than mpg and power I love the truck. P.S. you can take this truck anywhere you point the tires.
